Food great. I have the Sunday's Special oxtails and lamb chops 2 steam rice and salad. The meats were so tender that a knife was not necessary. Delicious very flavorful. Service fabulous. 4 persons called out and I think only one cook. Anna and Rachel the only two waitresses were excellent. When hungry waiting guests came to them, with complain about the wait and cold patio section they remind calm and pleasant. No frown but beautiful sincere smiles. They complement a non alcohol drink, water and an appetizer. They must have call the manager within least than 15 minutes 3 parties with 2-4 people were seated. It felt to be inside away from the breezing outside patio. At least we were not standing. Two parties order food to go. Again the food was worth the wait. And our server Dominique was very attentive. Food? Mid. Service? HORRIBLE. Giti and Jerome come to the front right now! And grab a chair & sit! Wait time to get seated ? 45mins, okay decent, but a couple who came in after us got seated before us (we were a party of two as well). It got really busy, and the lay out of the place cannot handle the customer load. Sitting area outside was not utilized until after ppl started complaining and leaving and additional staff came on board (so I'm assuming , didn't have enough staff to wait that particular area), okay I guess. As we were waiting to be seated we noticed a few a things... why is the waitress (believe her name is Ana) is waitressing and hosting at the same time during busy hours, leaving customers to long wait times to be served ? Open at 12, we got there between 3-4, and already sold out of some food options, okay I guess. Why didn't the "bartender" not use critical thinking and see fit to help out his peers to deliver food for them, so the food can be delivered soon as possible and not sit there at the window for about 15-20mins getting cold, since it looked like his area was kind of maintained? well so I thought.... lol. It was a two people sitting right in front of him (bar area is not that big , sits about 8-10 ppl) who have been there for atleast 15mins or more (I can only count the mins as long as I have been sitting and waiting) who just barely got the menus? (Maybe he was told to not leave his assigned area). Okay next, why is a guy who is picking up food ( not a normal customer , this man works in the corridor or something) also delivering something in a small brown paper bag to one of your staff (male)? (ok let me mind my business). Next, (we got seated) our waitress (kind young lady with burgundy curly boho individuals, very nice) came took our order, we knew she was overwhelmed right away, it was confirmed because she kept forgetting things and having to go back and forth. Table next (behind) to us, where there for a minuteeeeeeeeee ( had to be longer than 45 mins because they were sitting while we were waiting to be seated) still had menus!!!! Our waitress took our order within the first 20 mins ( so now we looking over an hour for them), that table still hasn't been encountered! Woah. Ok next, there were a few other customers complaining but this one guy was getting a little loud talking to Ana (idk her name but she was waitressing and hosting). Buttttttt where is the manager???!!!!!!!! To handle these type of situations? I knew she wasn't a manager, judging its book by its cover, but I also asked our waitress where is the manager and she said "in route". Also if this is a new team working together (overheard another waitress tell another customer) why isn't a manager on duty????!!! Okay next, last but not least, , for our waitress, she were good but a little advice, for sanitary reasons, when a table is asking for to go boxes, please don't grab it from another table right in front of us, which has been grabbed and touched on by the people from that table. Now... So although the service was bad and unfit to handle the customer load, the staff was really nice and tried their best to accommodate and listen to customers concerns/ issues. And because this is a black owned business, I'm giving 3 stars. We just got to do better! When, I first entered I wasn't sure if they were open. But once inside the ambiance is nice. They have IG photo corner (which we took advantage of). Our waiter/server was not very talkative, but took our order in a decent time frame. I ordered Thai yellow curry with med heat & added chicken, which was spicy and my friend ordered tofu with broccoli with mild heat. The curry was delicious, but the texture of chicken was weird. This cozy location sits within an alley type architecture with parking in the rear that is shared with another restaurant. If you get there early enough, you will find a spot; or you can park in street. They wasn't ready for a dinner crowd after the food critics on social media ate there and posted an inviting video which made people want to try this place. When my party of six went, they took about 20-30 minutes to seat us. When we attempted to order everything we asked for they said they didn't have it . I settled for the chicken fried rice and an order of chicken wings which I shared with the table because everyone was starving after that long wait. I attempted to order another batch of wings and was told they didn't have anymore. I really had been wanting to try this place ever since they first opened before any food critic on social media said it was good and even before the ox tails hit the menu. The food is delicious, with Giti's own take on the * Yellow Curry - ordered Medium and it had the perfect nip of spice * Broccoli in Oyster Sauce - The tofu was done perfectly and the broccoli was cooked just right. So nice when the veggie dish isn't swimming in sauce. * Pineapple Fried Rice - ordered Medium, it wasn't quite as currylicious as we'd expected, but the pineapple was delicious and the veggies were crisp. (It wouldn't hurt to add more rice for a better ingredient to rice ratio) * Cucumber Lemonade - so delicious. And so awesome that it is NOT an agua fresca. We eat a lot of Thai around town. AWESOME FOOD...awful experience!!! Nothing excites me more than supporting Black-owned businesses close to home! I was a Yee's loyalist (not Black-owned, but a community staple), I supported Sno-Balls, and I shop and eat at Simply Wholesome...I'm true to the area. I had been seeing reviews on social media and was eager to try the only Black-owned Thai restaurant (after 25 years being faithful to Natalee Thai). I was planning a girlfriends gathering a few weeks out and my bestie and I decided that now would be the time to try Giti Thai. Another girlfriend and I visited on a random Tuesday so I could sample the food prior to the gathering. We ordered appetizers and entrees. The appetizers took about half an hour to come out so management gave us complimentary beverages...no harm, no foul. Food was DELICIOUS!!! I was looking forward having the food for my gathering. I placed an online order from their website on Friday evening for pickup yesterday (Saturday) at 12:30pm. When I got there at 12:33pm, no one knew what I was talking about. I showed the employee at the register the confirmation email and he said to give them thirty minutes to prepare my food (that would put me thirty minutes behind). I returned at the requested time and still had to wait an additional thirty minutes for the order to be ready. When I was finally given the bags of food, instead of checking, I rushed to the car because guests had begun to arrive to my 1:00pm event. When we started unbagging the food, I noticed that one of the items I ordered was missing! I checked the receipt on the outside of the bag and the item was not listed. I checked my online order and the item was ordered and paid for. Immediately, I phoned the establishment to inform of the missing item. NO ANSWER!!! I left a voicemail. I will continue to follow up until a reasonable resolution has been reached. I do not want to bash this restaurant, but they have got to do better!!! read more

I had a large (over $200) order for pick up to bring to my mom's house. Food was sweet and loaded with soy sauce.. My green papaya salad was not good, simply put. I ate it as to not waste, but it was not what a green papaya salad has usually been in my experience. Only three shrimp, sure understandable I suppose. Some restaurants do cooked shrimp, others do the dried small shrimp. I prefer the salty dried shrimp, but cooked ones are also fine! But the dressing was tasting of almost pure soy sauce. Not the bright citrus, spicy dressing it shouldve been. The other dishes, like the tom kha we ordered, tasted sweet. My kids liked the pad see ew!. The service felt forced. Like every ask was one too many asks. You could feel the tension when I had to ask for something. He was like the only guy there. The ice machine was broken; the water was room temp and my thai iced tea was just cold enough. The crab ragoons were just cheese ragoons with strings of crab. They were $13. Overpriced. There were no condiments on the table like chilis or sauces. You had to ask for everything. The chopsticks weren't even on the table. The waiter was going to make me switch my fork and spoon just because I asked for chopsticks. I'm assuming so they didn't have to wash more but honestly that was not accommodating. The whole table set up was not set up enough and didn't have options considering most Thai places have chopsticks on the tables. The drunken noodle was good though; I liked the flavor and the number of veggies it had. The chicken wings were good also. The ambiance competed with the food. Also, their main door that faces the street, has a very small sign that says to use the other door. I tried to go through that door, other people kept trying to go through that door and like the waiter just complained loudly that people need to read the sign, but honestly that sign sucked! I order the vegetarian rice with added rice protein. It was okay I have had better. It was a three. However, the Green Curry with added vegetables omg! Was probably one of the best things I have ever encountered. My mouth was happy and my feet did the little happy dance. The rating for this is a 6 out of five. We also had vegetarian egg rolls they were okay nothing to fan over. They deserve a 3. We order Sake as well. One was so good the other not so good I combined them together to give a 4. This business demonstrates poor business practices and a complete lack of accountability. An order was placed at 6:14 p.m. on May 28, and a confirmation text was received. A follow-up phone call was made to verify the order prior to arrival, and a male host explicitly confirmed it. Upon arrival for pickup, that exact same male host stated that the business was out of the item. It is highly inefficient for an establishment to confirm an order through multiple channels, only to fail at inventory management within minutes. To make matters worse, there was no prior notification that the order could not be fulfilled, and the staff failed to offer a basic apology for the inconvenience and wasted travel time. The lack of communication and disregard for customer service standards is unacceptable. This establishment lacks the internal tracking and professional accountability required to serve the public reliably. Safe to say, future patronage will be taken elsewhere. read more

I ordered the oxtail curry and vegetable egg rolls and both items hit the spot. My only gripe would be regarding portion size. The portion was a bit small for the price. The oxtail curry dish was $30 and only came with two small oxtails. In my opinion, a dish at that price should've had a little more to it, but the flavor was great. My friend and I were warmly greeted by one of the owners upon arrival, and the staff throughout was attentive and courteous. We ordered the Pad Thai, Thai chicken skewers, and the drunken noodles with shrimp, which came highly recommended--and they did not disappoint. Every dish was flavorful and fresh. I love that this a black owned Thai restaurant. Their ambiance is nice. Outdoor and indoor dining. I saw them on LATryGuy and was excited to go. I'd passed by for years and just never tried. His review gave me something to look forward to. The dish I wanted, oxtail curry, was only available on the weekends and dine in only. I wasn't loving that. However I went anyway. I asked when I arrived if I could order there and still get to go, I was told no. So I waited for the opportunity to sit and order. While I waited a man came in and got a to go order of oxtail. Then I was called up to order and I sat outside. When my dish came the oxtails were very small and the rice was tough. I was very disappointed. I asked why they were so small. I was told I came close to the end of the day and they do things differently for social media. I understand that I came at 4:45, they closed at 6 and I didn't get my order until 5:45. So I get the end of the day maybe inventory was low. However doing things differently on social media is in this day and age really like false advertising. The social media video I saw cheered about large oxtail portions. As you see in the picture that's definitely not what I got. I don't know that I would roll the dice going again. If anyone is going g do that dish, maybe go early when they open and you'll have a better experience than me. read more

Terrible experience! Definitely wouldn't go back. For starters we got the vegetable egg rolls and I promise these are the ones out of the grocery store and were like mush in the middle. The restaurant was not packed at all and the service was extremely slow, not to mention our waitress disappeared and we had to get assistance from another server. I didn't finish my food, brought it home and there was a shell in my food ( I ordered the spinach and mushroom dish, which didn't call for any shells)! I then called to speak to the manager and was told that he wasn't there or might be, but they were busy. Someone else ordered the lamb chops and were served 2 very small pieces, with tons of salad and rice. We wanted to support BOB however, you're better off going to a traditional Thai restaurant.
