I love the ambiance of this place. They were playing R&B/Soul which added to the vibes. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I did have to wave my server down for the check and to place my order, as they were a little busy and he seemed to have been covering the entire restaurant. The lamb chops took about 30-40 minutes to come out, which I didn't mind but would've been nice to know ahead of time. They were so juicy and flavorful! The veggie egg rolls were good as well. I very rarely leave bad reviews but this experience was quite unpleasant There were several issues but to start, service was not the best. A young lady (not our server) came to the table to take the drink order. We ordered 5 drinks and she brought one drink back to the table and never came back. Our server then came and took our order. We got wings , oxtail fried rice, crab fried rice, drunken noodles, oxtail curry, and mixed veggies. I have food allergies which I made the server aware of as I as always do when eating out, but one of the dishes still came with the food I'm allergic to. Luckily, I saw this before eating. They took the food back and brought us another plate. After the new plate came, I started eating and then found a produce sticker cooked in my food. We did get our drinks after our food came. But they were not good (Thai tea) Our server was sweet and did try her best to make things right which I do appreciate. I placed my order online at 5:54 PM (crab rice, combo rice, Thai wings, orange chicken, teriyaki chicken). My wife and I wanted to try a variety of what they had to offer. Bill was a little over $100. The confrontation said the food would be ready at 6:14 PM. I arrived at 6:10 PM. The gentleman behind the counter said that the order was placed at 6:14. I explained to him and showed him the order stating that it said it would be ready at 6:14 PM. He stated he hasn't even put the order in for the kitchen to start cooking it. He put the order in and said it would take 30 minutes to be ready. I went and waited in my truck and returned at 6:40. The food was still not ready and I was told 5-10 minutes more. I patiently waited and was told by the staff multiple times that my order was being worked on. My food was ready at 7:10 an hour after arriving and the online confirmation stating it would be. I understand that it's a Friday and it may be busy, but to me the app saying one time for the online order and it being ready an hour after is unacceptable. I was given a coupon for a free tea on my next visit, but I don't think I would be returning. I was always told you only get one chance to make a first impression. All of the dishes were dry and we weren't given any sauce to compensate Thai wings - not really flavorful Teriyaki chicken - a little salty Crab rice - couldn't taste the crab Combo rice - a couple shrimp, small amounts of chicken and maybe 3 shrimp. I'm STUFFED! The food at Giti Thai is amazing. The oxtail fried rice was delicious- tender oxtails cooked just right and flavorful rice. The crab Rangoon and orange chicken are both exceptional. DON'T SLEEP on the Giti Wings. I think the wings are what knocked me out soon as I got home (just woke up). The service was on point as the hostess was courteous and our server Dominique made great recommendations. The rest of the staff was also fantastic. Loved the atmosphere as well. The oxtail curry was worth the wait because there was so good and cooked perfectly. The ambiance I'd give a 5 because it was a bit small and there's nothing else to share in that regard. My whole experience I'd give a 5 only because it was quite difficult for us to enjoy the delicious food. There were gnats that kept flying around our food to the point that we had to cover it with napkins. Our waitress noticed and apologized. She brought us to go containers and I ended up packing up our food before we finished to prevent the gnats from getting on it. Unfortunately this ruined our experience. I might give it another try in the future but if they still have a gnat issue I will not return. I hope they get this under control because this was the only thing that I'd have to say that was negative. I'd say - Give it a try and see if this was just an isolated issue. I really liked how they decorated the space--it has a welcoming vibe--and the service was great. The food was yummy, especially the egg rolls, but while the pricing was decent, the portions felt a bit small for what you pay. Parking can also be a bit of a hassle since it's shared with Somerville and other nearby businesses. Still, overall, I enjoyed it and would definitely consider going back. read more

We were seated pretty quickly, but it took the server a while to take our order. Based on the reviews, I expected the food to be mid, at best. But my food was actually pretty good. The only issue was the rice they served was clearly not fresh. Fresh steamed rice is a major pillar of pretty much any Asian cuisine, so that was unfortunate. I really wanted to enjoy this place. Drove from Orange County with the family. Wait staff was pleasant but seemed overwhelmed and unprepared to respond to the slow and inconsistent kitchen. Food was slow to come out for any table. At one point at least 4 table were complaining about now receiving their food. The crab lagoon had very little crab. The waitress acknowledged others had expressed the same disappointment and corrected the bill. We order curry ox tail and was told at least 40 mins to prepare. Ordered a drunken noodle entree and the ox tail came out in 10 mins. The drunken noodle came out 35 mins later. The noodles were no where near a 35 min wait dish. The dish seemed rushed and thrown together. Great concept but please do better in a way that customers want to return for the experience and food. read more
