This is a true Bear Valley gem!!!! Although I have ordered pizza and calzones from here (which were fresh and delicious) this was my first time dining in. It was such a pleasant experience! I love the locally / family-owned atmosphere. They had a few different specials to choose from, fresh bread, handmade Italian sausage, and lots of delicious goodies to choose from. My friend and I chose the Stromboli and Philly. They were both to die for! The cheese was so fresh and all the ingredients was very high quality. The dough was nice and light and not too heavy either. We also tried The Salted Caramel chocolates which were amazing. Wanted to have something from a local restaurant for lunch instead of the usual fast food. I found the Giuseppe's Place to be clean and staff was friendly. I ordered the hot sausage sandwich for lunch. It was good, but not great. I didn't care for the type of pepper they used with the sandwich but the homemade bun was perfect, cooked and prepared well. Firstly, I really wanted to give these guys 1 star, however, due to friendly and extremely pleasant staff, I am going to give it two stars. I was really excited to try this place upon seeing the reviews and rating on both Yelp and Google. That was a complete fail. My friends and I ordered, a cheese pizza, manicotti, spaghetti and ravioli. All cooked in the same sauce, which was most definitely not an Italian recipe. The filling for the ravioli and manicotti were the same, both bland and extremely weird texture. This is at best, American/Italian fast food, not authentic. I will not be coming back to this establishment, that's for sure. read more

Family run and the salad was chopped after we ordered including the tomato. It was extremely fresh and crisp. I had spaghetti and the portion was very generous as was the sauce. I've only ordered pizza from here twice so far, but both times the pizza was so good! Soft crust, distinct flavor in the sauce, and a good amount of cheese that does not get rubbery, which is my biggest pet peeve with pizza. I've done some deliveries from there myself, and they don't just have typical pizzeria fare, they also have housemade pastas, a deli counter, and and really yummy looking desserts. This is a great family owned and operated pizza place, very friendly people working there and it was clean and has neat pictures on the wall. I have been in for lunch twice now, and have had a calzone, a slice of pepperoni pizza and the Italian salad. All have been delicious!!! The side of marinara it is awesome with the calzone. My favorite so far has been the pepperoni pizza, the sauce is delicious, the crust is on the thinner crispier side, and the cheese and pepperoni were just the right amount. My family and I are from out of state and needed some dinner. We found Giuseppe on yelp. We were hesitant at first because of the shopping center appearance but I'm glad we chose to give it a try! The employees are friendly and the restaurant is clean. There's a nice variety of cold drinks in the coolers and fountain drinks. My favorite part was that the serve Gluten Free pizza! All four personal pizzas had a fair amount of toppings and were served piping hot! The meatball sandwich was delicious! The specialty meat sauce pizza was terrible. One of the worst pizzas I have ever had. Nearly $20 for a little lousy meat sauce and minimal cheese on a thin crust. I have had $3.99 frozen pizzas that are better. The manicotti for 11.95 was two manicotti with nothing else. No pasta of any kind. No parmesan cheese. Served in a big container laying at the bottom. Great food, impressive deli but if you go before they close dont expect any service. We were told we arrived 5 minutes before closing, so several selections were not available, but we still ordered. Our food was ready in 10 mins in a cardboard box but when we asked for plates and napkins we were told we had to leave because the store had already closed. Giuseppes could've provided better customer service by shuting off the open sign, locking up the doors, and serving the remaining customers that were fortunate enough to order before they closed. Sorry to say we were pretty disappointed with this place based on the reviews. We ordered delivery and got breadsticks, Italian salad and their specialty margarita pizza with sausage added. The breadsticks were a waste of money, just some unseasoned hard lumps of bread that we just ended up throwing away (and we're not very picky and dislike wasting food). The"margarita" pizza had what looked like chopped tomatoes (maybe canned?) and no visible basil so I assume it was dried flakes? Basically a cheese pizza with sausage. I didn't expect big things for the salad--it was a little warm. I genuinely wish I could give a good review! But it was just poor quality and not very fresh which was a selling point online. I like this MUCH more than the previous and only other review. Yes, some years back, I saw some mold on the cheese in the refrige case, but I think they have corrected that. Yes, the pizza is good, prepared well and flavorful, but nothing to write home about. I give it 4 stars because of what i had today, that I am now ADDICTED too. They do a sausage roll up, which, is a browned (house made) Italian sausage, sliced lengthwise, a green chili and a little strip of cheese are inserted, than she wraps in dough and bakes. This, with a couple of ladles of her wicked good red sauce to dip it in, for less than $5.00, is absolute heaven. Call 10-15 minutes ahead, specify mild or hot sausage, then bring to work and watch co-workers drool as they completely regret the tasteless meatball sub from that 'standard' place across the street. This is NOT a fancy place! Tile floors and basic tables and chairs. Awesome place to carry out a wonderful lunch or order ahead and bring home a pizza. NOT a 'first date' place, more of a 'joint'. BUT family owned and operated for many years, and I would ALWAYS much rather give my money to a mom and pop shop rather than some corp. national chain. read more
