This was our first time at Emmy Squared, and we were really impressed. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the portions were generous. It was a beautiful summer afternoon, so we grabbed a table outside under one of the umbrellas. It was a great spot to relax and enjoy land early dinner with a few beers. We ordered The Founders ($25), topped with red sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños, and honey, along with the Angel ($26), featuring Truffleist mushroom cream, ricotta, mushrooms, and truffle. Both pizzas were excellent with great flavor and a perfectly crisp, airy crust. We also shared the Brussels Sprouts Salad ($17) with pickled red onion, cashews, blue cheese, dried cherries, and miso dressing. It was fresh, well balanced, and paired perfectly with the pizzas. Ordering couldn't have been easier. We scanned the QR code on our table, placed our order, paid right from our phones, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. It was a simple, seamless process. Our total for the food was $68, and we thought it was a good value. Dining out isn't cheap these days, but the quality, portion sizes, and overall experience justified the price. Ive heard amazing things about Emmys and i was so excited to come try the pizzas but ngl i was kinda disappointed. The big ang (pickled jalapeno and hot honey) was my favorite of the two but it was super greasy and the jalapenos were pretty overpowering - i barely tasted any hot honey. Also the pepperonis tasted overcooked and broke apart into gritty pieces as i chewed (sorry for the graphic description lol). But the hot honey flavor was good and i lOVEEE the crispy crust and pillowy dough. I just wish i got a different topping. And the founder was vodka sauce based but i swear there was no vodka sauce to be found. We didnt taste it or see it - it was literally just cheese and meat. Also this one was BEYOND greasy because of all the cheese and the meat on it was very charred and almost burnt. Probably went through like 4 tissues eating a slice of this one. Would not get again. We also got the zia fries and those were good! I didn't have much of those but the fries themselves were super crispy and fluffy and perfect but the toppings on the zia was a bit much for me with the pizza! Would get the fries again but plain :) Overall, love the dough and concept of a detroit pizza and i think they have a good variety of options on the menu so i'd come back to try something new. Alot of my qualms are with the greasiness and heaviness but thats to be expected lol so i cant complain!! Service was amazing, i love that its connected to santa monica brewery! After a long 5-mile run on the beach, I was craving protein and carbs, and the fact that this place is connected to Santa Monica Brew Works was a bonus! The Food: A Major Letdown I grabbed a pint and sat down, and while the QR code made ordering easy, the meal itself was a bummer. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with a side of Waffle Fries. Including tip, it cost around $26--definitely "Meh Value" for what I actually got. The Sandwich: The chicken was pounded thin before frying, reminiscent of a schnitzel, but it was completely flavorless. There wasn't much sauce, and there was a very off-putting taste in either the breading or the sauce--something cinnamony or like nutmeg that just didn't belong. I had to force it down just to recover from my run and not waste the money. Also, the menu said their sandwiches and burgers were made on pretzel buns. This one was served on a regular bun. The Fries: The waffle fries were actually the highlight. They were seasoned well and came with ketchup, though I wish they offered other dipping sauces. Vibe & Service The service was Good at least it was quick and efficient thanks to the QR system. The space is nice and clean of course it's likely Santa Monica Brew Works' space, but I'll allow it--oh and being able to pair the food with a brew from next door is a great concept. We were with a large group so ordered a bunch of different pizzas and appetizers to share. First off, deep dish pizza is always delicious. Very hard to go wrong, and they did the pizza so right. They have such a wide selection, and I wish I remembered the name of what we ordered. But there was a hot honey one that was delicious as well as an incredible mushroom one and, of course, the classic pepperoni. Plus they vegan pizzas, which are also great for people who can't have dairy. Their fries and chopped Italian salad were also the big winners. The big downside is the price - definitely more expensive at about 25-30/pizza. So just something to be aware of if you order. After about a year of thinking "I should try this" I finally ordered some pizza. The Margherita is one of the best I've ever had. Full Stop. The Chrizo crunch is surprisingly tasty and I'm thrilled I tried it despite my inner voice that questioned. It is a true GEM! The Colony pizza is their signature pizza with red sauce, honey, jalapeños, and pepperoni. It's always one of our favorites but admittedly does feel like a fast food pizza. The cheesy garlic sticks and the Brussels sprouts salad were both good. The garlic sticks came with a carton of pesto sauce. These sticks were tasty but not something you could eat a lot of. Value though is pretty awful. It's like $24 for a tiny 6 slice pizza, plus a mandatory 18% service charge for the runner to drop the pizza box off at your table, plus tax, pushing the total cost to over $30. It is hard to find good Detroit style/Sicilian pizza in LA. Emmy Squared does a good job for LA standards. While a bit small and a little overpriced for what you get. Pizza is a little smaller than a standard sheet of paper. Crust was nice and crunchy but the center of the pizza was a little too moist, which I think it is due to the crushed tomatoes on top. The middle should have been more fluffy. If you have had Golden Boy in San Francisco then you know what I mean. Definitely will try some of their other pizzas. read more

There's street parking in the area or a lot at the brewery but it fills up at peak times! This location is part of the brewery. You order off of QR code menus that lead to their online order platform, and they link back to your table so your food gets brought out directly to you. Service was fast and easy!! I'd been to Emmy squared in Nashville and this locations food was the exact same in the best way. The pizzas were all SO good and I love a Detroit style with a little crispy edge so this hit.
