    Slices of Cheese and Pepperoni

We were sad when Dagwoods closed and Santa Monica lost another restaurant we really liked. Its location on Wilshire was perfect for us when either walking to the beach or heading home after. We were happy to see that Sampas recently moved into the same location and had to try it! It's different than Dagwoods in that the slices are smaller and it takes longer for them to be prepared. Dagwoods slices were very large, like you'd get from most NY style pizza places. Sampas slices are smaller but priced accordingly. You can order a slice of any of their specialty or traditional pizzas at the same reasonable price. If you liked Dagwoods I I recommend trying Sampas out. Although their slices are smaller and take longer to prepare, they use quality ingredients and the wait is worth it. The dough seems slightly different than typical NY Style Pizza. Never had Brazilian Style before but we really liked it. Both of us even enjoyed the crust! The restaurant was very clean and bright with several televisions for viewing sports. The seating was new and comfortable. Our server Sara was very nice and attentive. Give them a try.

    Wing shrinkflation!

We ate there once and the wings were good normal wings, normal size, tasty. We ordered again today and the wings were tiny. They had very little meat on them, and were mostly overcooked. Shrinkflation strikes again!

Found this place on yelp. We tried 4 different flavors and they were all great. Ultimate group favorite was the prosciutto. I recommend trying this place out !

Fantastic pizza, and you can get half and half pizzas (or more). We got the half Sau Paolo (with chicken and corn) and half Veggie. Great stuff!

This is the NOT Greek salad I paid for
    Susan N.

Went there for lunch just wanted just a slice of pizza and a salad. She indicated that two slices and a salad were $12.75 got it as it was not much more so I took it. I was brought out the two slices but no salad so I asked for the salad ... started to eat almost the second slice of pizza went inside told her just to put the salad in a bag to go!! I had ordered a Greek salad. Just went to eat the salad and it NOT a Greek salad but some funky tree lettuce salad- that was a waste of what $10!!! I don't live in this area so it's not like I was going back there again, but I will never go back if I'm in that area. Simple order should not be messed up that badly. It wasn't even crowded. And I Gave a tip should never did that before service. I didn't even get silverware with the to go salad. Oh, and the pizza wasn't even that good

MUST TRY!! This new local owned pizza place is our new favorite pizza spot. Delicious pizza with quality ingredients. Crust is chewy and crusty at the same time. They also serve amazing sweet pizzas but we ate before the picture.

Yum!!! The pizza is really good. Delicious cheese. San Marzano sauce. Chewy dough. 2 slices and a beer for around $15. Pizza hit the spot. Friendly service. Good ambiance, it's a pizza place. Just what you would expect in that regard. Clean.

Calabresa slice and Cheese slice. Delicious.

A wonderful new addition to the neighborhood and some of the best pizza in Santa Monica. I've only had slices (they can make fresh slices or any of their pizzas) and it is really darn good. Love the dough flavor and resulting light crisp crust; and the toppings are all really fresh and original. It's cool that they have both Brazilian and traditional style pizzas so when you do slices you can try something you've never (at least I've never) had before! All of the staff and owners are the nicest people and it feels really welcoming and relaxed inside. I love the Brazilian music playing and looking forward to trying all of their sides soon. As a former Dagwoods fan and patron I'm so happy to see a really great family owned pizza restaurant take its place that's quality in food and character. Now stop reading and go enjoy some delicious pizza (grab a slice of the Calabresa for me).

They have metal tables and chairs with loud speakers blasting music that echoes throughout the space. Add in loud crowds and kids dropping utensils, and it makes the whole environment pretty unpleasant. As for the food, we ordered the garlic knots, a croissant, the hanger steak, the peach and hot honey pizza, and the wood-fired vanilla bean pound cake for dessert. We covered a good amount of their key items. The main takeaway is that while everything is cooked well, but the dishes really lack flavor. I dine out to get flavors that are not easily made at home, and unfortunately, I did not find them here. The food lacks depth, and frankly, it needs salt to make it stand out. The pizza dough is actually really well prepped, easily as good as Pizzeria Sei, which is the best pizza place in LA, period. But again, it just lacks flavor. Also, as a small side note, there is a 4% employee health insurance surcharge added to the final bill. I probably just missed it listed on the menu somewhere, but oh well. Overall, it is a decent place, but I would not go out of my way to come back here.

We landed on the back patio, which is the move -- string lights, trees, really cute. Your other options are a few tables out restaurant-side or a boxed-in area on the street side. Just know it's all outside, and even with heaters around it gets chilly at night. We came for the pizza and that's exactly where the focus should stay: * Cacio e pepe pizza: Surprisingly delicious. Not a 1-1 with the pasta you're familiar with, but still really good and worth ordering. * Diavola: Spicy and always my favorite. * Margherita: Classic and solid, always worth having. * Rigatoni with pink vodka sauce: Server's rec for most popular sauce, and it delivered. * Little gem salad: Super herbaceous and delicious. * Arancini: Skip it. Middling for the price point... put that money toward another pizza. Pizzas and pastas run $25-29. FYI there's a 3% Healthy LA fee on your bill. Payment is handled tableside on a touchpad (card, Apple Pay, etc.). Vibe is cute, service was helpful, and I'd definitely return to lean even harder into the pizza menu. Came here for a casual lunch with colleagues and left already planning my next visit. The pizza is shockingly affordable for Santa Monica--and actually filling, which feels rare these days. I ordered the Market Vegetable and loved the fresh arugula piled on top (always a win for me). Everything tasted bright, fresh, and thoughtfully put together. But the real hidden gem? The back patio. I had no idea it even existed since the front seating gets all the attention, but the patio feels like a little oasis--quiet, charming, and perfect for a relaxed lunch break. Great food, great value, and an unexpectedly lovely atmosphere. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation.

My first time trying it and even if you hate lima beans (these are similar in shape but so much nicer), you will crave this creamy, savory dish. I'm still salivating over the Caesar salad with white anchovies; don't be discouraged just because anchovies have a bad rap for being fishy. The white ones are vinegar-y and fresh and they use bread crumbs instead of croutons. I love the addition of the slightly bitter but crunchy radicchio. For the main, we shared the guanciale white pizza (no tomato sauce) and the crust is thin and bubbly like you would get in Naples. And for dessert, we chose the Basque-like cheesecake with sour cherry compote. Hubby and I don't drink alcohol anymore so there are three mocktail choices along with a zero-proof IPA that's very hoppy. I chose the hibiscus mocktail and it was perfectly icey, tart and fragrant. Honestly the best meal I've had in a long while and the prices are affordable and ideal for a first date or a business meeting.
