I was worried that this place would be one of those Instagrammy places that prioritizes aesthetic over taste and functionality and yeah, I was right. Tried the s'mores frozen chocolate-- I will say the quality of the ingredients is pretty good (whipped cream was very good, chocolate was good quality) but the way everything was arranged makes it pretty difficult to eat without making a mess. Never thought I'd say this but there was too much marshmallow; I was constantly worried about it falling off the cup. We stumbled across this place while walking around with friends who were visiting. Everything was out pretty quickly and was so happy to see there was seating outside to sit and enjoy our drinks. The employees were also really nice and thanked us for waiting. We got the limited time special that was a tiramisu frozen hot chocolate and the summer menu glacier which is a frozen hot chocolate with a chocolate shell. Now this place's owners are masterminds. Their ideas are absolutely genius and I totally get why they've had people by the throat for months since they launched their hot chocolate and I'm so glad that they adapted to summer by making a frozen hot chocolate. As for taste, honestly, not the most impressed or wowed but was happy to have tried it all. I think the best part of the tiramisu flavor was the marscapone whipped cream which really had that taste of marscapone. The frozen coffee however I found to be gross but that could just be me being a coffee hater, though I've definitely had frozen coffee that I've enjoyed so take that as you will. The reason why I wasn't wowed was because the frozen hot chocolate, the most important thing being served here, just tasted like a very standard basic childhood hot chocolate served cold. We squeezed it in at the end of the trip, which pushed my timing getting back to the airport a little bit - I absolutely would've missed my flight for this frozen hot cocoa and would've been very happy about it. We waited about 40 mins on a Sunday afternoon, watching in torture as others came out of the shop with their delicious treat. Once you're inside, you have to make your decision pretty quickly and there are several options to choose from! I thought I knew what I wanted after watching 50 other people come out with their orders, but I didn't realize the flavor of the cocoa changed in addition to the topping. Mind blown. I went with the Ferrero Rocher cocoa because it had a hazelnut cocoa as the liquid which sounded divine - and it was. They give you a cup of cocoa surrounded by a toasted marshmallow whip ring, fresh whipped cream, and a topping to match your cocoa order (caramelized chocolate hazelnuts on mine). They even had a seasonal flavor and a white chocolate hot cocoa beverage, as well as many ice cream options! I will definitely be back - this place is not overhyped, it is really that good and worth the $15 for the best hot cocoa you'll ever have. I eventually went with the Chocolate Chip S'mores, which featured their hot chocolate with a scoop of cream and a salted chocolate chip cookie on top of a rim of toasted marshmallow. -Chocolate chip: Enjoyed the chunks of chocolate. It was a little on the saltier side but the salinity helped balance the sweetness of the other components. The edges were crispy and middle was more chewy. -Cream: Smooth and not too sweet (compared to other components) -Marshmallow: The toasted bits were yum and almost had a spiced/cinnamon-y flavor? -Hot chocolate: Definitely chocolate-y but a little too sweet for my liking. Consistently was more on the watery side which I think is appropriate in the context the addition of other toppings/ingredients. I'd imagine if it was more thick/rich it would be overwhelming. The staff member making my drink was very friendly and nice, but the cashier was a little impatient. One drink is about $13-15.
