It was the best salmon we ever had and it was perfectly prepared. The restaurant is huge, very clean and comfortable. The service is excellent, they took our order promptly and the food came out in a timely manner. We did make a reservation even at 3 in the afternoon, there were plenty of tables though. Grabbed dinner at Glacier Brewhouse while in Anchorage. Be sure to get a reservation ahead of time - it was busy for dinner the night we went, but we had a reservation and got right in. We ordered a flight, 5 beers for $10?! What a great price! The Alaska smoked salmon dip, and the herb crusted Alaska halibut. The salmon dip was good, but I would have loved to have thinner bread to eat it with. The halibut was great and the kitchen split our plates for us - it was a LARGE portion. Had a wonderful meal here on a Saturday night. Our friends recommended that we get reservations and glad we did. Others off the street were told a two hour wait. We arrived early so went to the bar to wait. I had their IPA and my wife a cosmo. She really enjoyed her drink. I ordered the blackened rockfish and she ordered a Caesar salad with smoked salmon. My fish came with rice and sautéed green beans. Fish was perfectly blackened and delicious. My wife loved her salad and the smoked salmon on top. Pub food: good, though nothing too exotic (if you're into the exotic, go to 49th state). This is the first flight that was fixed. Fortunately (for me), they were the non-IPAs. Overall a good experience. The raspberry wheat was the hit: nice balance of sweet and tang. The blonde ale was surprisingly good (i don't tend to go for light beers): a smooth ale, good mouth feel. We had dinner here on 07/03/2023 arriving at about 7:20PM. The quoted wait time was 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is a long time; however, there really are not enough restaurants downtown, particularly when the city is filled with tourists. The actual wait for our party of two was about 1 hour and 5 minutes. Our server Bianca was very nice throughout our visit and the restaurant quality was pretty good. Prices are a bit on the high side; however, I suppose rather comparable for the area. We shared two entrees, which included the Cod Fish N chips, which came with some delicious crispy fries, some apple slaw and three nice size pieces of fish. We also shared the Brewer's Pizza, which is a thin cruise and cooked wonderfully. For dessert, we shared the Bread Pudding, which was also very good. I only wish they gave free refills on the house made cream soda, which was rather disappointing. It was delicious; however, at least allow one refill. read more

This place is BUSY. But if you are in Anchorage and want exceptional craft beer with vast selection. along with fresh local fish the Brewhouse is a Good place to go. Their on-site brewed beers cater to every taste preference. The quality and variety of their craft beers are truly impressive. I tried this nitro brew aged in whiskey casks. It was exquisite. The price was very reasonable. $7.50. I can compare this to the docs bar near but who charged me $7, to a standard basic local brew. My regret is not staying longer to try more beers or flights. Brewhouse uses locally sourced ingredients, including the freshest seafood. (Mostly Alaskan or pacific origin.). The ambiance at the Brewhouse is crowded and and busy but this is rather "cozy" as I people watched as I dined alone. The staff members are knowledgeable and skilled but hard to communicate due to the noise. Brewhouse provided me an outstanding dining experience both beer and seafood enthusiasts were memorable and best meal I had this trip. They also sell stickers and tshirts for souvenirs. My wife and I collect Stickers. 3 for $5. Not cheap. But uniquely unique! read more

TIP: Make a reservation. Tried to go once without it and wait was 1.5 hours. With a reservation, we were seated right away. I got the herb crusted halibut and really enjoyed it. I also appreciated the greens to balance out the heaviness of it. I got the raspberry sour and really enjoyed it. We shared the peanut butter pie and it was good but super rich. I was only able to take a couple of bites. The restaurant is pretty noisy but we were able to be sat in a quieter area. I could barely hear as I was walking through the restaurant and I imagine it would've been difficult to hear anyone hear me if we were sat in a noisy area. read more

My experience here was terrible. We ordered 2 plates of king crab, the waitress brought us one set of utensils and 2 plates. So after 5 minutes of trying to get her attention to confirm that we wanted two orders of king crab, she started arguing with us that we told her we wanted to share. Nope. Never said that. Instead of saying - I'm sorry I'll correct that right away - she stayed at our table arguing that we were wrong for several minutes and then left by saying - I'm always happy to sell more crab! She then brought one plate of crab to my friend and said because of the way they are cooked - I would have to wait but she could offer me a chowder in the meantime. I told her I would wait. About 10 minutes later my crab came to the table. Both orders of king crab legs were cold. The potatoes were cold. The asparagus was cold. The melted butter was cold. I'll never go back to this place again. It was a huge disappointment and I'm pretty sure the waitress was high. read more

Absolutely the best calamari I have ever tasted. No tentacles! Strips of tender calamari about 1/4" x 1/4" by 3.75" strips. I shared a halibut and chips. The halibut was so flaky and not heavily breaded. The service was exceptional. A friendly staff that showed genuine interest. Drinks were refilled. She gave us our space and yet, she was attentive. This was not my first time at this restaurant. I had visited Alaska in the spring and ate at Glacier Brewhouse and I loved my meal then. This time visiting, I brought my husband, MIL, and daughter (along with family from AK) to the Brewhouse and was so disappointed. My family that lives in AK say sometimes it's great and sometimes it's bad. Well, this time we got bad. There was six of us at the table, four ordered the ribeye steak and three out of four of those steaks were cold. Cold enough, that the butter solidified on the top when they smeared the butter on their steak, it did not melt. No one mentioned this to the waiter because we felt bullied by the chef already; when I mentioned that my sauce on my stuffed halibut was cold to the waiter, the chef came out and tried to school me on how if the sauce was hot it would break. This I know, but it could be warm and would not break and this sauce was cold, which would make my meal cold. He did begrudgingly warm the sauce which I appreciated. Unfortunately as a whole, I was not impressed with my stuffed halibut. In the spring when I visited this restaurant, this was the exact dish I had for dinner and absolutely loved it but this time it was bland. I was completely let down by my dish. My husband said he's had better steaks at Texas Roadhouse. There was a manager that had hung out in the bar area visiting with someone she obviously knew, she saw the chef come over to our table and never checked on us once to see if everything was good. Our waiter was great, but he was super busy and we were forgotten about often. Our fried calamari was great, but it was also cold. All of our drinks were fabulous. The ambience is cool. The chef... they should replace him as his attitude and food were not impressive. For the amount of money you spend at this restaurant I will not be going back when I visit again. read more

The restaurant was pretty empty, but we had to wait awhile to not overwhelm the kitchen. Apparently there was a takeout order in place. The kitchen and the food they produced was horrible. There's a thing called timing the orders. They've apparently never heard of this concept. We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese, two chowders, a salad and fish tacos. I could see something under the heat lamp for 20 of the 30 minutes we waited. That was the fish taco order. Cold, soggy, pretty disgusting. They did nothing about it. The chowder and pretzels are standard, thankfully they couldn't screw that up. I thought the calamari at bear paw was bad, but these were like leather. Asked for no jalapeno, got jalapeno. They are lying when they say their calamari is the best;) At least we know to avoid this place like the plague. The salad had just the right amount of salmon which had a hint of sweetness and and nice amount of smokiness. The grilled chicken sandwich came with bacon and slaw and a brioche bun. My husband got really sick after eating here. We dined in last night and were super excited about it. My friend from home recommend it, the reviews were great and he was holding out until Anchorage to get his king crab legs. He ordered the king crab meal which came with broccolini and potatoes. He seemed to enjoy it until approximately three hours later when he began vomiting all of the crab. He clearly had a case of food poisoning and the crab was the only thing he had that I did not. That was rather disappointing for a meal he paid $130 for! Everything else we had was good. We shared the calamari and a Caesar salad. I had the chicken entree which was good. Whatever seasoning they garnished the plate and meal with was overkill. There was way too much of it and it wasn't that appetizing. You can clearly see it in my photo. I just ate around it.
