My absolute favorite restaurant in Anchorage and Alaska for that matter. I always order seafood when I go here since they always knock it out of the park. Not sure how there non-seafood items stack up but they look great. I have been to all the high priced places and this place is the best. Love the ambience! Had brunch here for the past two weekends! I could easily stuff my face with their biscuits and maple butter and jam all day, but I digress...never a long wait to get seated and staff always with a smile! Had crab cake Benedict with chipotle cheezy grits - YUM! It was too large a portion for me so if you have a big appetite but a small stomach, this dish is enough to serve two persons. The following weekend was open seating for the entire place and with Fur Rondy kick off - it was busy! But staff was doing great and handling the craziness with grace. This time I had the seafood egg scramble (shrimp, salmon, crab, spinach n onion - the chef accommodated with my egg white only request) and my hubby's chicken fried chicken ( I like to call it heart attack on a plate) was delicious! I had to take my biscuits and jam to go -heehee! Even amongst the hustle and bustle of large parties and Fur Rondy festivities, we did not wait long for anything. I use to live in Anchorage and this was one of my favorite places to eat out with family and friends. Lots of good memories here. I love the salmon and the king crab legs. It can get a bit annoying because it's always pretty busy, especially during the summer season. If you want to eat here during the evening the best option is to go online and reserve a time (the earlier the better). There is also limited parking, so give yourself plenty of time to figure that out. read more

If you're in Anchorage and you enjoy food or beer, you should visit Glacier. It has a rustic-yet-new decor that's homey and inviting. It has a full menu with some fancy food, but also pub fare to wash down the homemade brew. GB's beer is endemic across Alaska, but nearly nonexistent outside of AK. I had the land & sea Oscar and it was phenomenal!! We sat at the bar and they were nice and friendly and they have a great beer selection! Nice, upbeat atmosphere! It's a little pricey, but the quality can't be beat! And they have a normal portion size, not too big. read more

Great service, AWESOME corned beef on St. Patrick's day. Great place for a date, or for family. The bar area is nice too, and their specialty drinks (beer, cocktails) are some of the best in town. Pizza here was not my favorite; try crab legs or meat entrees. Highly recommended! read more

The place gets pretty packed. I got the Calamari for an appetizer and its sooooo good melts in your mouth! Best I've ever had!! I ordered the Alder-Wood grilled Rib Eye steak with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts, medium rare. The steak literally melted in my mouth. It is really loud in there but doesn't bother me. Unfortunately, I only started coming to the brewhouse AFTER I got pregnant, so I haven't been able to indulge in all their tasty looking beers. Their food has been somewhat of a let down each time I've been here. It seems like no matter what I get someone else at my table has chosen something that looks better. The first time I came I was craving crab legs something hardcore and my boyfriend encouraged me to get them. They were very boring. You didn't even get a proper crab fork to pick out your meat, you got a tiny appetizer fork instead. It wasn't very conducive to plucking out the meat. Pair that with the fact that our appetizers were cold when we arrived and it made for a rather mediocre first experience. The second time I came I tried the baby back ribs and they were good, but nothing special. I will probably be back because it's a pretty fun place, but maybe I should stick to something like burgers instead? read more

Food was good, but expensive! Why is fish so expensive in Anchorage? Don't you just go down the block and yank it out? Good beer, but again, expensive. The wait staff wasn't all that attentive, meaning that they ignored me for a good 20 minutes before bringing me water. Again, expensive. I should have decent service for that price. read more

If you are in Alaska, eating Salmon is a must. Our first night there back in 2003 we decided to pay this place a visit. First impressions are important. The place was pricy but amazing. Quickly we realized everything in AK is expensive. They grew their own beer there. The alcohol laws in Alaska are strict for 2 simple reasons. Beer has lots of alcohol there, and Alaskans like to drink. I loved the food and the beverages. We were so jet lagged that my dad said LUNCH WAS GREAT, well it was like 11 pm when we finished eating. Came in here on a Thursday. After arriving on Monday, each places I have eaten at was a disappointment. I don't mind paying as long as the food is good. Alaska is pricy but mediocre food. This place gave me the best service and flavor for my money. I had the Halibut and it was worth the wait and the beer here is also good. Be back! read more

A must stop for anyone in the Anchorage area. The beers are outstanding and plentiful (impossible to try them all in even a couple sittings). The food was delicious. The place was packed and it was definitely busy but that's how I judge a good place anyway.. If you never went to the Moose's Tooth because they were always packed, you'd be missing out. I want to submit an update because we have had guests from Outside so have eaten dinner here twice in two weeks, both times we have experienced huge disappointments, and I don't know what the heck is happening in that kitchen. Is there a new chef, manager? Somebody?. I really don't know how else to deal with my grief. How embarrassing, after "selling" this place to our first time in Alaska family and getting pooped on. Details: the seafood chowder, horrible couldn't believe it. Pasty, burnt, bland. We have even manged to wrangle the recipe for this and have adapted it for home. It just makes we want to say FU GB. Steaks: tough as nails, not cooked to specs. Chicken: you got to be kidding me? I didn't know that chickens were even sold that small, and when did you cook it, yesterday? Pizza: same ol, same ol. Ribs: couldn't even eat the cabbage, what the hell you put in there that tasted so bad? Raw cabbage would have been better, at least I could have put some salt and EVOO on it. Garlic mash spuds: how on Earth, do you fuck this up? Dry pasty bland (garlic?). Fried Calamari: couldn't be eaten by some guests due to the hotness, our bad though, didn't see the jalapeno chips part, but not a good pairing of flavor for calamari in my book.If it were just jalapeno aioli, maybe, but you got too much spice everywhere here. Waiter1: really dude, your elitist attitude stunk, contrary to what yu might think, this is NOT the Crow's Nest,. Waiterress2: thank you for redeeming Waiter1, I would have really ripped this place up in this review had you not been so accommodating, nice, and patient. The only positive change the GB has made that I noticed was the addition of a "barrel to bar" feature of extra wines from a barrel, the Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Gris were both very good for the glass price, the Cab actually had some body, dryness, and delivered just before din din. The End. And maybe the last two times we go there for dinner, and maybe just stick to a beer and app. Unless someone can convince me this place HASN'T gone down the rabbit hole. read more

Glacier Brewhouse was a great experience in Anchorage! Husband and I walked in from a rainy/cold day and into a the warm bar area. Had a sampler of five 4oz beers for 10 dollars: Blonde, Hefeweizen, Amber, Oatmeal, and Raspberry Wheat. I honestly liked all of them! Everything on the menu sounded good, but the rain really had us wanting soup, so we downed two giant bowls of delicious chowder and split a plate of halibut and chips. The waitress we had was one of the best I've had anywhere despite being incredibly busy (the place was completely packed for lunch!). The bill was about $50. read more

Traveling to Anchorage for work frequently I alway make a point to stop and eat here! The handcrafted drinks are wonderful. Whether you sit at the bar or at a table the servers all treat you well and are expeditious in your needs and concerns. The food is very delicious, from the steaks to the fish! Loudest dining room ever. Took away from the food, couldn't wait to leave. Cod and Crab cakes were very good, but our Margherita pizza was undercooked and staff was not willing to remake it. Crab legs were dry and very disappointing. Add a long wait, below average service and very high price for the products served. Lesson learned. read more

Service was a little slow at first. We came in on a Saturday around 1:30pm and it took about 15 minutes before our waiter came over to us to bring some water after being seated. However, after we ordered the food came out very quickly, which made up for it and it was also fresh and delicious. I had the grilled shrimp salad and my husband had the fish and chips and both were so good. The fried fish was not too greasy and over breaded like how it can sometimes be at other restaurants, it was perfect! (in our opinion) the shrimp on my salad were very tasty and a good medium size. It came with about 7 shrimp for 16$. We also tried their Oktoberfest beer and it was great, one of the better ones we've had in a while. They also have a Bloody Mary bar as part of their brunch special on the weekends and it's so worth it! You get to pick your vodka, tomato base, and all your toppings for 8$, and they had a lot to choose from! We will def be back for lunch. read more

I had the shrimp skewers and my friend had the halibut. Although the prices are higher than typical brewery/bars, we thought the food was much better than typical brewery fare. The Glacier Brewhouse was fantastic! Before we even got our food they were so many sights and smells which made us want to wait despite the large crowd. Who knows how long it would have taken to get a seat in the regular dining area given the fact that so many people were already there waiting. But, fortunately they have the self-seating lounge area and we were aggressive and found a seat before too long. The food was plated so beautifully and it almost looked too good to eat, but every bite was so good! read more

Least favorite of the 3 breweries I visited in my day and half in Anchorage. Sat at the bar mid afternoon and it took a good ten mins before bartender acknowledged me and took my drink order. Beer was ok, nothing special or different. Food looked good but prices seemed high for the portions people around me were getting. read more
