I found this place while I was making some late night Uber Eats deliveries. One delivery request sent me here. The cashier was very friendly and we chatted about their menu offerings while I was waiting for the order. I decided to place an order and pick it up on my way home. I got the beef and cheese lamajoun with a cup of yogurt (it reminded me a lot of tzatziki). It was hard for me to leave the bag alone while I was driving home because the food smelled amazing. It was very good and I plan on returning to try their shawarma pizzas!

Great food, great service, patio outside is amazing to dine. Recommend everyone to try the amazing food. Love it ill give it a 10/10

Thank you grandma for the baklava. Every ikea trip and you want a shawarma this family doesn't play. Grandma insisted I grab the baklava Mike and aren 10 minutes before they close hooked me up and really blessed me with a giant wrap for the night. Grandma gave me cookies and baklava for free. They are definitely good people. Yeah zankou is delicious but there's more than one good shawarma spot in town. The reviews don't lie lmao

Wait was quoted 20 minutes but took 43. The ajarski was very salty, and we unfortunately found a hair in the lamajune and had to throw everything away. I don't mind paying for quality, but not for food we couldn't eat. Customer service was disappointing. I sent a photo as requested and never got a response.

I sincerely must say that it is the best Shawarma I've ever had. Unbelievably tasty, everything is the right. Perfect amount of spiciness, ratio of the meat and the veggies are just right as well. Customer service is good too, friendly staff and fast service. We took a seat out in the patio and it is pleasant and private. I would definitely recommend this place and I personally can't wait to visit this place again in very near future. I'll be trying their other menu items as well.

I had such a great experience at the Glendale Shawarma. First of all, everything has great and balanced flavor. Second, everyone there has such a warm and welcoming smile. Very subtle place. You would never guess how delicious the food is by the outside. I think it is family owned and that is the quality. Like mom made it. It is so good. The meat is fresh, veggies fresh, hummus perfect, and bread freshly baked. What!! I could not ask for more. Everything is made with love. First time eating at this here. Prior to choosing this location there were many other options and ended up choosing this one due to reviews. Very happy we did so! Great quality food and service, the man in the front taking orders who I forgot his name made me feel like I was at home. Genuinely nice and helpful when it came to choosing what we wanted to eat. I couldn't wait to get the meal and once we did it exceeded expectations! I love a great shawarma meal. Just want to say thank you again Glendale Shawarma for your great quality service and food!

this is very tasty shawarma here it is rare. I took pork and beef both of them were great. guys have a big menu and they have very tasty lemonades. I recommend this place. 2 shawarmas and two lemonades will cost about $30 I waited about 10 minutes in total. and they have cool paper bags that will not let you get confused

My husband and I finished Costco shopping and were hungry for a quick bite. We stopped at Glendale Shawerma since it was on our way. And oh my goodness! It was so good. We had the beef and chicken bowl. It tasted so delicious, light, flavorful and the place was so clean and presentable. I have to say I am a very picky eater when it comes to chicken and I don't eat meat. Loved the chicken and will definitely be back and will bring my kids. You can do sandwiches, wraps or bowl for no carb option. I would love to try other things on the menu. Try it and judge it for yourself. read more

I will start by saying that the people that operate and run this business are extremely kind, genuine, and very professional. They run a very clean and tidy restaurant. The food is all fresh and made daily. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. With the amount of kebab places in Glendale, of course you have many to choose from, but this place stands out because they have standards, an excellent quality of food. I had a major surgery and hospitalization recently, so I couldn't prepare Christmas dinner this year. They completely catered my Christmas dinner and my family was very happy. We are repeat customers, and we will continue to give our business to Glendale Shawarma. read more

The food was WOW amazing flavors and great quality of the meat. My partner and I were there a few weeks ago and we tried several different dishes and holy cow each dish was different in their own way yet each bursting with flavor! Service was amazing, brother hooked us up with free dessert- their baklava is amazing. Not too sweet and very crunchy/crispy! Please do not pay attention to any of the negative and subjective reviews. I tried their pork and chicken shwarma and they were both really good. I would definitely come back and try other sandwiches they offer. I was reading the reviews while waiting for my order. Someone wrote that the place was not clean, that is an absolute lie since the place was actually sparkling clean. As to the service, they were very nice and welcoming. I would strongly recommend that people disregard the negative reviews from the so called "food experts" and come to their own conclusion. read more

The husband and I were traveling back home to Glendora. We took surface streets to get to the freeway, but I wanted a snack. I see Glendale Shawarma and I'm like.. '"let's try it!' Parking is in the back-- you get to it through an alleyway. I got the Chicken Shawarma wrap and my god... it was soooo DELICIOUS and huge!!! There were crispy and juicy chicken bits, pickle-y bits, some spicy bits, and freshness from the lettuce. It was seasoned just right-- I don't like it when food is too salty. I was so elated to have come across this place. It was very clean inside. The customer service was good and courteous. It was cool to see that they were rolling out fresh dough to make the bread. My family stopped in on our way back home to Central Coast Cali. Being Middle Eastern, we love our shawarma. So far, it's our favorite spot. We ordered the beef wrap. It was so delicious. If you love a cup full of meat and lots of flavor in your shawarma wrap, this is the place to go! You truly get what you pay for. Quality and service at its best! Great spot to grab a delicious fresh bite. I went her with a coworker for lunch and we both ordered the BBQ plate with hummus, fresh veggies and chicken shawarma. It was so much great food. Absolutely delicious food. We ordered the beef and pork Shawarma, both amazing, their house bread is Devine. The lamajun, both cheese and regular smelled and tasted heavily. My favorite was the chibureki, make sure to eat it warm, the crispy bread was so delicious. Their yogurt dip salad was also very good. Try it, you won't be disappointed. read more

The Pork Shawarma and Akroshka here is FIRE. We stopped here a month ago, and I was impressed. We don't get to come to Glendale often since we live in Orange County. My girl, and her girlfriends recommended this place for us. Great food at this fancy looking place. Pretty pricey, so do not forget your wallets lol. We were all seated and greated right away with a nice table. One of the best places here. Love the Pork Shawarma. I usually only eat Beef Shawarmas or Chicken Shawarmas . Akroshka was almost undescribable in taste. But I was impressed. Good waiters and waitresses . We will be back. read more

They escorted us to a table that allowed my wheelchair-bound family to stay out of any high traffic pathways yet also see the entire beautiful restaurant. And at the end, the manager kindly helped me escort my wheelchair-bound family member to my car parked across the street. That's not all, tip will also be requested when checking out. Our Visit: My family and I have visited Elena's before and had a good experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This time, we noticed a clear drop in food quality, portion sizes, overall service and an unexpected new surprise on the bill. I came in with my wife, our two young children (10month old and 2 year old), and my mom. Unfortunately, the pita bread was stale, a portion of my wife's chicken was undercooked, the portions were noticeably smaller than before, and the server completely forgot my mom's drink. Those issues alone were frustrating, but what really stood out were the added fees at the end, fees that were not charged in the past. We were charged a 20% "large party fee", along with an additional "service fee". When I spoke with the owner, he explained that their system automatically applies a large party charge to any group of 4 or more people, including babies who don't even order food. That threshold seems unusually low, especially since most places consider 6 or more a "large party" and from my experience typically don't consider babies 2 years and younger as occupants. Even more concerning, none of these fees were clearly communicated to us beforehand. Being surprised with multiple charges at the end of a meal feels misleading and leaves a bad impression. To add to that, after already including these fees, the payment process still prompts customers to leave an additional tip. I've only seen this type of fee structure at higher-end restaurants and for more people, not at a casual spot like this, and even then it's usually disclosed upfront. If a business is going to charge extra, the service and overall experience should reflect that. My recommendation for Elena's, if you want to make more money, just raise your food prices so your customers at least know how much they're going to spend at the end. Not slap surprise charges at the end and force your customers to pay. On a positive note, at least they were playing Fast and the Furious on their TV. PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILL. Please be aware of their shady business practices.

Knowing there was no realistic way for me to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant before closing, I expected at least some effort to find a reasonable solution. Instead, I felt like I was simply being told there was nothing they could do. When I said I would contact upper management for a resolution via email, the employee even seemed relieved, rather than concerned about resolving the issue. I understand mistakes happen, but the restaurant made the mistake--not me. The least they could have done was offer a refund for an overpriced burrito that I didn't even order. It's now past midnight, and I have to drive way out of my way just to find somewhere that's still open to get food. Very disappointing customer service, and unfortunately I won't be ordering from here again.

The lamb chops came out beautifully medium-rare with a crust that belonged in a culinary magazine. That first bite genuinely left me speechless. I actually stopped eating and looked back at the sign because I could not wrap my head around the fact that these lamb chops had just been handed to me in a to-go container. I was positive they had somehow escaped from a five-star steakhouse. They were served over a bed of rice with fresh lavash, topped with incredibly fresh onions and cilantro, plus a side salad and delicious homemade hummus. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We also tried the Lula kebab, which was delicious in its own right, but unfortunately for the Lula, it had to share a table with those lamb chops. There was simply no competing. I also ordered a tiny cup of Armenian coffee, and do not let that adorable little cup fool you! It packs a serious kick! We tried the Okroshka as well, a refreshing yogurt drink with cucumber and dill that tasted like someone's Armenian mom made it in her kitchen and handed it to us herself. It had that comforting, homemade quality you just can't fake. Next time, I'm trying the grape leaves and beef. And yes, I said next time, despite the fact that this would be roughly a 70-mile round trip for us. But when the lamb-chop craving hits? Apparently we're driving to Glendale. Bonus points for being open late. This little family-owned spot was such an unexpected find, and those lamb chops alone are worth coming back for.
