I bought my bike here because I got a pretty decent deal and was excited about the free tune ups. Turns out the service team isn't very good here. DON'T be fooled by the free tuneups. My $3000 bike did not shift right from day 1. I took it back to Global 4 times and even tried 2 shops (Gilbert and Ahwatukee). I was told "that's just how they are supposed to shift". Even though it was skipping gears and shifting REALLY slow. I eventually took my bike to Cactus Bikes. They made about 3 adjustments and it was shifting just like you would expect - hitting all the gears in both directions and would shift quickly. Looks like I will be a Cactus customer from now on. read more

We bought a Schwinn bike that came unassembled. My husband and I easily assembled the bike, but something sounded weird. When we took off the front tire, we realized the bearings were exposed. We called Global Bikes on Guadalupe & Gilbert and spoke with Tim. He said bring the bike in, after I inquired of prices. He said they could take a look no charge. He confirmed that we needed to get the bearings repacked on the front wheel and set us up with Andrew. Andrew quickly scheduled us and said he had time to repacked the bearings. Within 10-15 minutes, he was done. We paid the $15 for that and were on our way. Finished assembling the bike and it was good as new. Actually, the bike is new. We have 3 other bikes, too. Small bike shop with caring and knowledgable employees. They don't have many higher end bikes, but like I said, it's a small shop. I bought my lower end Specialized mountain bike at this shop a few years ago, and they will do free tune-ups on the bikes they've sold... for the life of the bike. So, when I woke up one morning to find that my valve was glued shut with slime (note to self: do NOT let anyone put slime inside my tires ever again), so I couldn't even release the air to change the tube myself. So, I figured it was as good of a time as any to take the bike in for a tune-up and have them change the tubes. I dropped my bike off on a Saturday afternoon and they told me that my bike would be ready by Tuesday, but called me on Sunday to tell me that my bike was ready for pick up. When I went in on Wednesday to pick it up (I work 7a-7p and they're open from 10a-7p), they had my bike ready and gave me an update on what exactly they did to the bike. read more

We had an amazing experience with Dave. I can't express how happy I am and as well as our family is with his service. My husband recently deployed and we put everything into storage, including my son's bike and made our way to Chandler after a 14 hour drive. He was pretty sad about saying bye to his bike, after all, he rode it every single day. We went to Dick's Sporting Goods in San Tan and the bicycle specialist there was absolutely not interested in helping since my son was at an in-between stage of bikes (previously 14") and I thought an 18" would be perfect, but I'm no professional. The associate at the store quickly shut us down and said he's too small for a 20" and they don't carry anything smaller, except balance bikes. Flabbergasting. Not sure how that works. And they could not order anything appropriate for his size apparently because he's too small and they only had an option for a 16" Diamondback, but we wanted to see it in person first since the reviews were just "ehh..." Anyway, we left with my sad son. I promised him a new bike after we relocated and he saw all those bikes there and we left with nothing. I sat in the car and searched for local bike shops and found this gem. I called and a nice conversation with Jared was awesome, he was reassuring there was something there and they did not disappoint. We showed up, Dan helped us and he was so knowledgeable about bike sizes and how to customize it for my shorty. I couldn't believe a 20" is what he was fitted for, and not the 18". We left there feeling pretty excited to go home and test out the beauty. I let him ride it around the street and took some photos/video and sent it back to my husband. I just moved back to AZ and wanted to get back in to Mtn biking. OK I am new to town I'm from San Diego and I just looked up the closest bike shop from my house and I have never been so impressed, I took in my jogger stroller in for a flat tire and they literally changed out the tube for me right there on the spot, recommended to me some tips on why they keep popping and ways to keep the tires pumped up. I'm always having to take my jogger stroller to the air station at gas stations which is such a pain But has been the only way I can get air pumped into the tires, a normal bike pump will not work, so they suggested that I buy a specific valve adapter which no one has ever told me in the 8+ years I've been using the stroller. anyway very fast and friendly customer service, I am so happy with this place and will recommend to all my friends and I will not be taking my bikes or strollers anywhere else! I have wanted to purchase a bike for years as I haven't had one since I was a kid. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted when I walked in (besides a kickstand and basket!) so needless to say I had to be educated. Dustin was fabulous. He spent so much time with me explaining different options, and letting me ride several bikes around the parking lot. I was a little particular with what style, what color, how many gears, etc. I was all set to buy the orange one- even though I told Dustin he was breaking my heart because I really liked the green one- and his comment was "we have to sell you a bike you will love." He then basically ended up building a bike for me... the green bike, with that bike's gear shift, and that bike's tires, etc... all down to the basket. I love riding around my neighborhood in my green machine. I even attached a Wee Ride so that my toddler son tools around with me as well. The first thing he points to in the garage is my bike- and he starts to grab for his helmet. Green Machine Bike... few hundred bucks. Precious time building memories with my son... priceless! I was referred to Global Bikes by a neighbor. When I called and told them the problem I was having with my bike, they gave me a rough estimate and told me to bring it down when ever and they could know exactly what the problem was. I brought it in, within 5 minutes the mechanic knew what it needed and also noticed my gears were warranted as well. So for $15 I got my tire trued up, and a new set of gears. If it wasn't for the mechanics at this place being so honest, I probably would have spent the money and had to buy a new rim. This is the best bike shop I have ever been to. Very reputable! Just like I told the store manager as I was leaving, I will definitely be back. They also have a good choice of after market stuff. New seats, phone holsters. Anything that a novice rider like myself would need, up to a professional cyclist. read more

So, yesterday I was doing a little research on where I could sell my specialized hardrock mountain bike. I called global bikes in Gilbert and, Luis picked up the phone. Luis said that would be something they would be interested in and also that the size of my bike was very common. He put me hold for a min or two so he could ask the guys in back to see how much I could get for a 2006 specialized hardrock. After he returned to my call, Luis said that he could offer me between 125 - 150 but I would have to bring it down to the shop and have the bosses check it out and would have the final word... Today... Brought my bike down ( from North Scottsdale ) to there Gilbert location. As it turns out Luis was there and he says that he remembers the call and that he said all of those things. But the ( bosses ) said that there weren't looking to buy any used bikes as off now. They all really didn't give a you know what and all they could say was... Sorry bro. I absolutely would never recommend this business to sell your bikes or anything with two wheels. I would put zero stars for this company if I could. read more

Glad everyone else had a good experience with G.B. Mine was the opposite. Bought a cruiser two years ago and had nothing but problems with both bike and G.B. First day I got the bike supposedly 'ready for the road' and it looked as if the service guy rushed through the process as screws were not tightened. Next I had an issue with the back brake rubbing, took it in and they 'repaired' it only to have it rub again. Took it in a second time and they fixed the brake by modifying the bike, then the crank made a rattling noise. They fixed that and now the bike makes a whining noise when I ride it. I am so tired of dealing with G.B. as it seems they are only concerned with pushing bikes out the door and do not help a customer in need. I am going to give this bike away and get another one somewhere else. read more

Seems like a good bike shop. The interior is a bit dated (think 80s-90s pegboard) but the staff is very nice. The general manager helped me quickly and efficiently. He was able to answer all my questions and quickly was able to find a bike that fit my child's needs. The bike wasn't assembled and he had it put together in about 10 minutes. read more
