This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and it was even better the second time around. The restaurant offers authentic northern chinese food (not the typical "american chinese" dishes), so be prepared to try something new! We started with the lamb skewers, which are DELICIOUS. They have a smokey flavor, a little heavy on the cumin (but I prefer the extra flavor), so they really hit the spot. For our main courses, we ordered the Dongbei style cold noodles and shredded pork with garlic chili sauce. They were large portions of food, more than enough for two people. The noodles had a great texture, and the peanut sauce was a little on the watery side, but still very flavorful. The spicy pork was SO good, we couldn't put our chopsticks down, although it was a bit on the oily side (which was fine for me because I just avoid the bottom part of the serving dish). I can't give a 5 because the menu itself is a bit unprofessional. I understand it is a pretty authentic chinese restaurant, so spellings might be incorrect, but one entree description wasliterallywrittenwithnospacesinbetweenthewordsandsentences. Also, a couple dishes were listed twice, with two different prices. We actually ordered the "cheaper" dish, but the server did come over to let us know about the issue. We order delivery from here several times and they have pretty good food! The boiled beef is quite authentic. The beef is very tender and flavorful. We also tried the boiled fish, the flavor was good but the fish has quite strong fishy flavor. The house special stew is a bit disappointing. It was very watery and the soup was very greasy. There were so many things that we wanted to try but some will just have to wait for next time. All the food we ordered were authentic and delicious, I am glad that they opened in Malden. 1. Lamb skewers - strong cumin flavor with a lot of spices, definitely has a kick to it. All the adults loved it, the kid couldn't eat it because it was too spicy. 2. Cold noodles with kimchi, sausage and cucumbers - The noodles had a very nice chewy texture and the broth was a good balance of sweet and sour. Very refreshing for the summer! 3. Braised pork with bean noodles - I am actually not sure what this dish is called, I am just translating from Chinese. This tasted like home-cooked food to me, very yummy. Eat this while it is hot, it got a little greasy for my liking once it cooled down. 4. Yuxiang sliced pork - seriously authentic and legit! very generous with the dried chilies, a bit too spicy for the kid. 5. Spicy calamari - nothing too special, but was good too. 5. Fried Taro with sugar - I loved this! It is a simple dish of fried taro coated in sugar but it tasted so good especially when it was served hot. They also have a few beverages such as sweetened tea, pear juice drink that you can usually find in China. Overall, wonderful authentic food. I will definitely be back! read more

Since I can't handle too much spice we settled on the Crispy Twice Cooked Pork in Sweet and Sour Sauce and the Black Pepper Beef as our main entrees. For vegetables we ordered the Sauteed Lotus Root with Snow Peas and Cashews dish. All the food was wonderful and the serving size was more than enough for two people plus leftovers.
