    Unagi!

2/13/26 I Love this place! I've been going here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. Sometimes they can get very busy and service slows down a little but they really put in a solid effort to keep up. They are under new management and I like the improvements so far. This was our Valentine dinner (3rd year in a row) and it was excellent. We started with the Broiled Mussels. This has been one of our favorites for many years and we were a little surprised that they had changed it up.....and made them even better. The Mussels are huge, very tender and now topped with Scallops and Roe. Wow! Much, much better! I am a huge Unagi fan and this was incredible! A bigger portion than before and so incredibly tender and full of flavor! We finished the night with a beautiful order of Bluefin Tuna. Oh my God.....unbelievably delicious! This was a great night at Go Go. Stellar service. Baba and Freddy are great Sushi Chefs, very personable and very on top of things.

Paul. Where did you Go Go!? This was an old review with 5 stars that I am reviewing and It Hurts me to say write this but... I have been coming here for almost 20 years and you can see most of the negative reviews... have a similar pattern. I understand change. I understand giving it a chance. But I echo what all the long time GO GO customers have said. Every single thing where words taken right out of my mouth. Brought my daughter like we usually always do... and we're shocked. Gave it a chance. We're shocked again. There was no win here. Like I said everything that the old clients complained about is true. By daughter literally she's a tear because this was our spot. Literally live up the street. I hope New Go Go will hear the cries. Keep the upgrades. Bring back the old. Incorporate the new. Do something. Because we're permanently here. Strong support. Long time support. Consistent support. What else would you want as an owner than several long term customers. They'll bring you the business. Will try and convince her to come one last time. If not I will and see how it goes.

Came for a quick lunch. Was thinking of the ayce sushi but decided to try rolls instead. They have a special of buy one get one 50% off rolls. Overall everything we got was yummy. My favorite was the super dragon roll. The spider roll was also very yummy with lots of soft shell crab inside. Great place, nice ambience and good service. Will come again to try the ayce.

The new owners have better quality food and it's more modern inside. I got the bento box with chicken and tempura and it was very good. Service is superior. They are attentive and fast to assist you. Easy parking in the lot. The chicken was tender and flavorful.

Very nice menu, and friendly service. Good prices too! Definitely and great place to try if you're in Pasadena and want some good sushi or share a bunch of fun appetizers.

A hidden gem AYCE sushi restaurant in Pasadena that really close to Arcadia. The fish was really fresh and we ordered a lot. Ordered all the limited sushi and we loved them. The no-rice rolls were really good too and we enjoyed it. The carpaccio it's similar with sashimi and loved the salmon and tuna. The service was great and we enjoyed our dinner. There is sake and beer on discounted price and we drank a lot.

It is an amazing spot for AYCE sushi!!! So many choices and the food is high quality! Also nice service! Highly recommended!!!

I'm on the fence and a bit confused stepping through the door. It wasn't that long ago me and my sons came here and now it appears they have changed ownership. The last ownership had a certain personable charm to the place and they remembered their customers. Inside is a bit more decorative, lots of blinking light ropes. I do like blinkies. The music is fine as well. Again, nothing negative on the new ownership, I'm just thrown off a bit by the change. I guess in all fairness a new ownership deserves a chance. On first impression though, I'm a bit disappointed as for years when coming here I would get a lobster roll, which is no longer available. I defaulted to bento boxes of all things, which I have never ordered something like that. The menu was mostly text but I can read. Prior establishments menu was highly visual. It's also now canned soft drinks and a glass of ice, budget, where prior was from fountain and there were refills. I'm sure the cost and hassle of soda fountain was likely why the change. The food was ok but I didn't finish it. The fish was ok but a little dry, the dumplings were deep fried, I'm on the fence with regard to their tempura shrimp, salad was good. Not forced to eat here by any means but I feel I had to settle for something rather than being able to order a favorite. Such is life. There is nothing at all wrong with the restaurant, I'm just unclear if I would return here over other sushi places in Pasadena. I normally went out of my way for Go Go Sushi. Hope this new Go Go does well.

Someone please explain to me why have a conveyor belt for food and drinks to be delivered and not use it?! This was just the first tip off that this place is not trying, the food was next. I guess I should have known that any All You Can Eat place is going to have lower quality fish. Stupid me. It was not great cuts of salmon, sushi or escolar. The escolar carpaccio was drowning in a sweet sticky sauce. Yuck. Then we got a mango sexy roll or something and it was chunky and the mango was inside the roll with the crab which overpowered the mango. All of it was just meh. Maybe our expectations were too high in the first place, but we won't be back. We'll go to Kura next time.

The fish quality is fresh and the portion was big. Fast, attentive, and kind service. Highly recommend, best quality and value for all you can eat in town!!

Had a date night here and we were seated right away. Was really excited when I seen the conveyor belt because I've really missed having a floating sushi spot in Pasadena. Bummer, the belt was running but not actually for sushi. I'm guessing there wasn't enough demand to keep it going? Other than that, my bento box was good... fresh and a good value. I did notice a lot of signage about new ownership, but this was my first visit so I can't compare it to before. Overall, solid spot. Adding it to our regular sushi rotation.

mayo and mayo and mayo stacked on top of the roll? wow!!!! gonna throw up!!! and I threw it all away.

My friend and I came to KazuNori for Saturday lunch right when they opened at 11:30. Only one other group was there at opening, but it gradually got busier over the course of lunch. As is standard for handroll places, seating is all counter seating so that you can watch the chefs make and place each piece in front of you. I don't recommend coming here with more than 2 others, as conversation can be difficult due to the seating arrangement. I went with the 6 hand roll set for $29, which offers toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallop, crab, and lobster. Everything was good, and my favorites were the scallop, crab, and lobster. You can ask for less rice in each roll if you aren't super hungry or have a smaller stomach. They make everything easy when it comes to paying the bill by charging an automatic 16% fee, so you don't need to fill in the tip. I think that's fair given that each handroll is personally made for you by the chef.

There are a number of small boutique stores located here. This Japanese restaurant was a great find when I was out walking. I was actually going to pick up some food at another place. I read some of the reviews to get an idea of what to expect and was pleased to find that the food here is very good. This is a takeout only restaurant. They cater and also Chef Maezaki teaches sushi techniques in the surrounding area. I entered the front door and walked to the large counter. I was greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. I asked a number of questions and realized that I must be talking to Chef Maezakl. He showed me the menu. He also showed me specials that they were offering. After taking some time I decided to order the special wagyu beef entree, and a spicy tuna hand roll. I sat down in one of the chairs available and waited. I could smell great aromas from the food being prepared in the kitchen. I was happy when my food arrived about 15 minutes later. I could sense his pride in what he had prepared for me. I enjoyed the complete dinner that was the wagyu beef entree. There was rice, pickled cucumber, California roll sushi, a special piece of fried chicken, and chicken gyoza. It came in a perfectly packed & arranged container, ready to eat. I'm happy to say the taste translated to a great experience in dining. The marinated beef was tender and flavorful. The chicken was moist tender with a crisp exterior. The cucumber salad was bright and refreshing. The fresh sushi was a nice touch. I went back another time to try the cold chicken ramen, a three piece chicken appetizer, and the tiramisu. I was happy with the fresh flavor of the vegetables in the ramen. It was a nice change. All I can say about the tiramisu is that it has an addicting flavor! I can't wait to have it again. It's nice that the parking lot accommodates all the small boutique businesses. There has always been plenty of parking when I was there. This shopping area with its boutique stores is a good find. I look forward to my experience at CM Ghost Kitchen.

I've been wanting to try Tendon Tempura Carlos Jr. for a while since their original location is in Torrance. I'm really glad they opened a Pasadena location because we're lucky to have one here in the 626 now. Parking was easy since there are spots right in front of the restaurant, but they are metered and cost $2 per hour. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. Since the weather was nice, we decided to sit out on the patio, which was cool and comfortable. To start, we ordered the fried tempura mozzarella sticks ($5.99), onion kakiage ($2.99), and edamame corn kakiage ($5.99). Everything was delicious, but the mozzarella sticks were the clear favorite. They were fried perfectly with an amazing cheese pull and plenty of cheesy flavor. We decided to share all of our entrees family style. For my son, we ordered the plain hot udon, which was simple and perfect for him. For the rest of us, we ordered the Premium Tempura Bowl ($32.97) and added ikura ($4.98), the cold soba with dipping sauce and tempura ($19.99), and Carlos's Jewel Box ($31.99), which came with chopped salmon, toro, yellowtail, and popcorn shrimp over rice. We also added extra toro for $8. On top of that, we ordered a side of five slices of chu-toro for $15.49, which honestly felt like a great deal. The Premium Tempura Bowl was definitely the star of the meal. Every piece of tempura was light, crispy, and fried perfectly without feeling greasy. The fried tempura egg was absolutely chef's kiss, especially once the yolk mixed into the rice. The tempura dipping sauce was also excellent and brought everything together. The Carlos's Jewel Box was another standout. The fish tasted fresh, and the rice with their house sauce paired perfectly with everything. The added toro made it even better. The cold soba was well prepared, but it just wasn't our cup of tea. That's more of a personal preference than anything because the quality was still there. The restaurant has a modern look while still feeling like a cozy mom-and-pop shop. I really liked the decor and the welcoming atmosphere. Since we were the only table sitting outside, I can't really comment on the noise level inside, but the patio was peaceful and relaxing. The service was great. The staff brought out a booster seat for my son and even helped secure it to the patio chair. They also brought us all the condiments, including ginger and pickled vegetables, without us having to ask, which I appreciated. Overall, I would definitely come back. The tempura was some of the best I've had in the 626, and the rice bowls were just as impressive. If you're visiting for the first time, I highly recommend ordering one of the tempura bowls. You really can't go wrong. It's great to see a restaurant that started in Torrance expand to Pasadena because it's a welcome addition to the 626 dining scene.

HAKATA SET (Your choice of: Tonkotsu or Miso Ramen, comes with Mini Spicy Tuna Don, Chicken Karaage 2 pcs, Tsukemono) This was one of the set items for the lunch special. Chose the miso ramen. The miso ramen had a very strong white miso flavor. Didn't hate it, as I do love miso, but it was a little too much miso for my liking. Typical curly ramen and it was cooked well. Loved the jammy egg too. It was a soy marinated egg. There were also three pieces of chashu too! It was good, but slightly overcooked. The portion of the ramen was medium sized and was surprised they didn't bring a smaller size since it was a set meal. But happy they were generous! Spicy tuna don was a small bowl, but they gave a good portion of spicy tuna, which was delicious. Chicken karaage were two pieces of chicken and it was just okay. No tsukemono was served with the meal. Overall the meal was satisfying. I think the price was fair for what was given. CUSTOMER SERVICE Good, friendly and attentive customer service. No complaints! AMBIANCE / TABLES + SEATS Very calm and relaxing ambiance. It was quiet and no music was playing, which I liked. The restaurant was super clean and I liked how the tables were set. Large tables in the back and small tables were closer to the front. Bar seats on the side. It was a medium-sized restaurant, but the layout made it feel larger. Clean bathroom too. Honestly, if he ever decides to stop working here, he would make a great bombshell on Love Island The food was absolutely delicious, the ambiance was great, and everyone we interacted with was so sweet and attentive. Even though the wait was longer than expected, the amazing customer service more than made up for it. We really appreciated how much the staff cared about making things right, and we'll definitely be back!

Shabu is fresh, delicious and authentic. The Kurobuta Pork Loin is very lean and tasty. The Black Angus Ribeye also very nice. Their ponzu has something else added but really nice. Not sure if it had a dash of sake but love their ponzu sauce. Lunch time at counter for shabu fills up quickly so be ready to wait in line if all shabu stations are occupied. Still worth the wait. Once seated, you'll get served fairly quickly. Excellent and very friendly service. Love our initial experience here. Definitely will be back. Happy Eating!!!

We came here completely on a whim after spending the day at the Huntington Library. We had stopped…read moreat a nearby creamery for dessert and noticed this little sushi spot just a few doors down. We decided to give it a try, boba in hand. Unfortunately, they don't allow outside food or drinks, but they were kind enough to keep it in the fridge for us. Walking in and seeing an all-Japanese staff, I had a feeling we were in for something special. The menu prices were a little higher than your average neighborhood sushi restaurant, but after the first few bites, it all made sense. The service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. Our food arrived quickly, and the quality of the fish was outstanding--fresh, buttery, and literally melted in my mouth. This is top-tier sushi. The meal was so impressive that I had to meet the chef and owner. They were incredibly kind, and I learned they've been serving the community for over 25 years. It's easy to see why they've stood the test of time. We found an unexpected gem, and this will definitely become part of our Huntington Library tradition. If you're in the area and appreciate high-quality sushi, Matsuri is absolutely worth the visit.

For ~$20, you can get a Bento Combo with +1-2 items in addition to rice, salad, miso soup, and tempura or gyoza. We got the Salmon Teriyaki, Mixed Tempura, and Sashimi/Spicy Tuna Roll. My friend and I thought this was a great deal and left very full! This place is a great, charming spot and a new go-to.

Tuesday June 23rd…read more They were notified that we were coming in with a large group. Lady on the phone said no problem. We were probably about the only ones seated by 3:45. Ready to order, Waitress kept helping other diners that walked in... while we waited. By the time we ordered off the lunch menu we were told that we couldn't get the lunch prices. Yet we had been sitting there for a full 15 minutes waiting for one of the three servers speeding around. Finally one of the servers took our orders, couldn't understand her since she was taking very fast so we had to have her repeat herself several times. When we got our bills it didn't reflect the price for lunch. Server said because we put our orders in after 4..... after sitting for 15 minutes to have our orders taken. Lady in our party asked for the mgr, then the server decided to change the price of the orders. Our orders were slow to arrive
