Amazing place for sashimi! A happy discovery during COVID-19, Go Go Sushi does an exceptional job with their sushi and sashimi. We've actually stopped ordering from our old sushi mainstay because we love Go Go so much! I'd pass on their hand rolls but their tempura and specialty rolls were pretty good. Your run of the mill neighborhood sushi joint. I haven't seen any actual sushi on the conveyor belts but I may not be going during peak times. They have all of the must-haves with some interesting roll concepts. I'm a nigiri or sashimi guy mostly if I don't do the combos. The hamachi (yellowtail) is delicious and they are rather affordable for some damn decent sushi. The cuts are also nice if you have an Asian head sushi chef. They have sake and (ahem) soju as well. You know what that means. Their sushi rice is good and so is their tempura. You'll have a good meal if you want your typical Japanese fare. This was the best sushi we've ever had in the U.S. by far. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. They offer vegetarian options, which made it easy for me to order as I'm a vegetarian. My bf who eats fish got the Red Dragon roll and said the tuna was great quality. I got some food to go for my sister who is a picky eater and she even wanted some more. Go Go Sushi is a very inexpensive and decent quality sushi place in Pasadena. Due to its location in a plaza, the parking is plentiful. Their menu was pretty expansive: their choices ranged from sushi combos to baked rolls to poke, they even had a couple of rice entrees (chicken teriyaki, eel, etc). My friend and I both ended up getting 14-piece sushi combos (~$13), in addition to a 6 piece salmon cut roll (~$3). The sushi combos were presented beautifully, however the fish itself was not super high quality and didn't taste super fresh-- maybe a little better than decent, but not the best. (I'm not sure if it had to do with our timing? We came on a Thursday, maybe the the shipments for fish come way before that?) Although this establishment is a revolving sushi bar, the fully operational conveyor belt was moving but completely empty. We still had to order everything from the waitress, but we were served by the sushi chef who was between us and the conveyor belt. We were also seated on the side of the conveyor belts where all the bigger tables were not and had a hard time getting the wait staff to help us order and pay. We had to flag them down ourselves and because of that service felt slow. read more

I stopped at Go Go Sushi after a hike earlier this month. Honestly, it just was not as good as I remembered it to be. I previously came here 4 years ago when I was visiting a friend in the Pasadena area. He lived close by and loved Go Go Sushi. From what I remember on that visit, it was decent and worth a return visit. Sadly, I'm not so sure that's still true. I came on a Saturday in the late afternoon, probably around 4 or 5pm and sat at the bar. There were about 4 other groups in the restaurant. I honestly thought it was closed initially because it's pretty dark from the outside looking in. The waitress was friendly, she came right over to take my order. I ended up ordering way too much sushi than I could possibly eat (story of my life). The Vegas roll was great and I also got a tuna specialty roll. They were both good, decent portion size, but I thought the sushi could be a little more fresh. The hot sake was on point - delicious. Rolls are expensive for what they are. I wish they had a happy hour and/or put the rotating conveyor belt to use. read more

The Combo Box here is an insane deal for Pasadena! You get a meat, tempura, gyoza, soup, salad, and a choice of 4 piece rolls for $8.95 (+1-3 depending on the meat). I was floored by how good everything was as well. I had been here once before for the poke and thought it was okay. The combo box is where it's at though. Online order was quick and simple as well. Only thing that was off was that one of my co-workers didn't get teriyaki sauce, they got two of the dipping sauces for tempura. Found the restaurant via Postmates. The order got canceled but then I just had to sushi and beef teriyaki! So I called them up, placed an order and was so glad I did. They deserved every dollar, and glad it went directly to the restaurant. I got the gyoza, beef teriyaki, and the lobster roll. I ordered two other rolls for a friend (so I can't remember what they were called). Loved the lobster shrimp roll--- I don't like raw seafood (go figure!) but I do enjoy a cooked roll, and it was recommended by the person who took my order. It was delicious. This is probably my most frequented go to. The fish tastes good, and the service is excellent. Their prices are amazing! The one thing they have on the menu that I don't see anywhere, is the beef (or chicken) teriyaki roll. It's seared beef in a sushi roll. I have had it in other places on east coast but have never seen here. The staff is actually very good. I may be biased though, as I literally go to eat there for lunch 2-3 times a week. read more

Random sushi place in a small plaza so it may be easy to miss but the food was pretty decent. The fish seems fresh and the beef teriyaki is flavorful and soft. The meals are accompanied with a miso soup which is always welcome! The servers are friendly and pretty attentive so we do enjoy coming here when we want a quick easy meal. read more

I've been coming here for years and I'm a big fan. The sushi is really delicious and for the convenient location, parking, and quick service, I am loyal to this place. It's not owned or operated by Japanese people but they do a great job keeping it authentic and the chefs make really amazing sushi. The best kept secret is the salmon collar, which is just really tender fatty salmon that falls off the bone. It comes with a sour-ish dipping sauce similar to tempura sauce but has a little bit more of a citrus flavor palette. I love the colorado roll and the Hawaiian roll, and even with pick-up, the quality isn't diminished, unlike at other places. This place is pretty casual and no-frill, but don't let that make you think the quality isn't great! read more

Terrible service. Placed an order through Postmates it kept getting delayed. I called after an hour and spoke to one of the employees. He said my food was ready, but they're waiting for another order to give to the Postmates driver. I offered to pick it up, but the employee said no, they'll rush the order. 15 minutes go by and nothing. I called again and asked what the status was and they were stilling waiting on the order. I asked to cancel the order, but they said no. At this point it's been an hour and forty-five minutes. I drove down to the restaurant and waited with other upset customers. After 10 minutes I got my food and drove home. Sitting at room temperature and having hot miso soup stacked on top of raw fish my sushi was warm. Health wise this is a terrible practice of theirs. I called again and the manager apologized. I asked for a refund and that I would be willing to take my food back. I ate two slices and knew it wouldn't be safe to continue eating. They refused a refund and kept saying "I understand, I understand." So now I drove back to the restaurant, waited 40 minutes, bordering their closing time. 2 1/2 hours after I originally place my order I've finally received edible food. This place ruined my night. Ordered the Go Go Lunch Special $13.95, which consists of: Miso Soup, Rice, Tuna/Salmon Sashimi (nice thick chunky slices and fresh too!), with Yellowtail/Tuna/ Salmon Sushi, and marinated Salmon (or Chicken or Beef). The fishes were fresh, with nice, thick chunky slices. It was a lot of food! My eyes were hungrier than my stomach, lol!!!! I also ordered a 6 piece tuna roll - it was delicious! The wasabi - big serving and very fresh. My sinus cleared up, lol! Served with Iced green tea (free refills, yay!). Service was nice and attentive. Though the food preparation was kinda slow. I would have thought the tuna roll came out first, but not until halfway into my meal. Still, my tummy was happily stuff. Overall, nice sushi place to eat at. This place used to be a conveyor belt sushi joint, but they don't do that anymore. Too bad - could have pulled a lot more customers in. I would still come back to eat here - good place to catchup with friends and you don't feel rush eating here. read more
