PSA Warning: we just picked up our food and noticed a lot of rats or mice in the back of the restaurant running across the parking lot back and forth towards the dumpsters. As we examined closer there seems to be a lot of them near their dumpsters but the dumpsters are pretty close to the back entrance of the restaurant. We are not sure if the restaurant itself contains rodents inside but I would caution you all about this before going. This is definitely not a good look for the restaurant especially since they do have some of the best phillys around but seeing this definitely has us a little worried. read more

So I'm in agreement with a previous review about the saltiness. I ordered a deluxe nothing special with cheese whiz. Super hot and fresh -this place is BUSY so I waited in my car about 15 minutes (they said 30). There are options to order delivery or pickup but for a first time an bread involved I wanted to see the "real-time" food. The staff were friendly and competent, the place appeared clean. I also ordered the fried okra and I grew up on fried okra...this was pretty spot on! Not goey cold or too salty. IMO it was perfect. I use to like this place but now it's just a joke. We ordered $100 plus worth of food to include 3 steak and cheese as we were going on a road trip. They made a mistake and gave us chicken for all three sandwiches. We called to inform them of this mistake and the girl Michelle who answered was very apologetic and understanding but her manager was very rude and kept insisting that we were lying and he knows for sure he gave us steak. Well last I checked steak is not white looking, so either they are selling cheap quality and not trust worthy meats or he was wrong and gave us chicken. Michelle asked us to text her a photo which I was willing to do but he would not accept this and kept saying we had to bring it back in. RACIAL DISCRIMINATION January 8th 2021 I ordered to-go. I parked behind the building and noticed a cook looking at me weird. I go to the to-go window to pick up my food and I was ignored by the woman running the cash register. She looked at me then looked at one of the cooks and ignored me for 10 mins. The cook that looked at me weird went inside and told them not to serve me. So I go inside and wait behind the other customers who are all looking at me weird like they over heard the employees talking about me waiting at the to-go window and when it's my time to get my food the cashier ignores me again and said she does not feel comfortable serving me. The cook (manager) had to hand me my food that I already paid for after waiting 25 mins. As I walked to my car a white man parked next to me walked over to the to-go window and picked up his food before I could leave. That following Monday I go in to talk to a supervisor and it's the same cook that handed me my food and now he acts like he doesn't remember the incident. I told him I was racially profiled and he then goes on to tell me I wasn't like he knows how the incident made me feel. He didn't apologize for his employees performance and made me feel even worse. I could tell he recognized me but didn't take my matter seriously because of my skin color. He was basically making excuses to justifying the behavior. Looking back at it that same cook manager that handed me my food didn't even say anything that night he just went on like business as usual even tho that incident happened while he was working. This place seems to not be able to get orders out on time. I've ordered several times and it's been an hour plus. The price is not worth it either. The final straw was waiting an extra 30 minutes for a third-party order that was supposed to been ready. I don't understand if you can't get orders out in a timely manner hire more cooks or other personnel. It was our first time trying this place and it was a disaster. We ordered online around 5:30pm last night, someone called us right away at 5:36pm to confirm our order and tell us it would be ready at about 6:05pm. Great! Our order Order No. was 1031645507 in case the owner wants to look into this. We spent about $70. We arrived at 6:05 to pick up the order, it wasn't ready yet. After waiting and HOUR it was finally ready about 7:10pm. This completely unacceptable. How in the heck does it take you an hour and a half to complete an order? One family member is on a special diet and shouldn't eat after 6:30pm so that was blown. In addition when we got home we discovered we didn't have the 2 extra tarter sauces we asked for and the Poor Boy sandwich was missing the cole slaw so it was just shrimp with Russian dressing on a bun. I double checked our order and we DID ask for cole slaw on it. To make matters worse, I tried calling today when you are open at 11:00am to speak to a manager about our experience and after calling 4 times, I am not able to reach a live person, only a message. We ordered take out on Juneteenth. We got a Philly cheesesteak and the fried catfish with lemon pepper fries. The fried catfish came with two delicious (surprise!) hushpuppies. My boyfriend really liked his cheesesteak (he got white american cheese + steak). It was a pretty good portion and decently priced. The fried catfish also blew my mind. The fish tasted fresh and it was fried to perfection. We enjoyed our lemon pepper fries (wish everyone had these) and finished off our meal feeling content! This establishment was a waste of my time and resources. I was planning a working lunch for 16 and called Go Philly the day prior to the meeting to place my order. I spoke with a helpful young lady named Trinity who checked with her manager regarding my order for 16. She advised me that her manager said that I was to call at 11 am on the day of and put my order in. I reiterated that it was a fairly large order and I wanted to ensure that they could and would accommodate me. I was assured that they would. Day of our working lunch - today, February 27th. I called at 11 am. No answer. Called a few minutes later - no answer. I finally got through on my third call and was assisted by another helpful lady named Sylvia. She patiently took my order. I asked if a noon pick up would be feasible and she said yes. I get a call a few minutes later only to be told "My manager said you can come at 11:45. Your order will be ready then." I show up at 11:43. Stood in line to pay for my order. Sylvia helps me and advises me that I had about a 10-15 minute wait. No problem, I tell her, as I realize an order for 16 is a big lift. I was ready to pay for all 16 sandwiches, 14 French fries and 3 strawberry lemonades when Sylvia went to the kitchen to check on my wait. The manager tells her "Call her back. We can't do it." I was certain he wasn't talking about me. He did, after all, tell me to come and pick up my food at 11:45. Ah - he was talking about me. Sylvia told me that the wait would be at least an hour. How did that happen when I called as soon as they opened? And the manager told me to come at a certain time? I was frustrated and found myself getting angry. I had 16 people back at work waiting for their lunch! Manager comes out of the kitchen and tells me that they just couldn't fulfill my order because it was too big. This is how our conversation went - "We got really busy after you called and we can't do your order." "But wasn't I the first to put my order in?" "Yes, but we got busy. You should have called yesterday and made arrangements. We could have came in early and got it ready for you." "I did call you yesterday, spoke to Trinity and you said to call at 11 am today, which I did. I followed your instructions!" "Oh, well they're all still in training." "What? That has nothing to do with it!" "You can come back at 1:30, we should be less busy then and we can have your order done." WHO DOES THIS?? I walked out. I was livid! And I am still livid as I'm writing this review. He did not apologize for his ineptness. Sylvia, at least, managed to meekly say "I am so sorry." This manager was smug and was clearly lacking in his business and public relations acumen. He willingly gave up an order of at least $250 before taxes and tips! He did not offer any options or even a sincere apology. He obviously did not think that his actions would have any consequences. He may have stellar cooking skills but as a manager, he has a lot to learn. I dare not recommend my family, friends or co-workers to this place! It is a disappointment. If anyone needed training, it's this manager. His ineptness is a disservice to Go Philly. The two stars I gave this establishment are solely for Trinity and Sylvia. Finally made it here for some takeout, I ordered the peppersteak and some garlic fries. So if you are not a fan of chopped meat philly's don't come here and get all indignant. It's a good sandwich, lots of tasty chopped steak and peppers on a good roll. I am pretty stuffed couldn't finish my fries. Don't know that I am a fan of the garlic fries, they are done with garlic salt and we're a bit salty for my tastes, but they were cooked perfectly. Service was amazing. The cashier was very polite and had patience with myself and my father. The food came out in a timely manner and was amazing. I got the shrimp po boy and was skeptical at first, I opted for Russian and coleslaw and my mind was blown by how much flavor and shrimp this simple sandwich had. The shrimp was perfection portions on the sandwich and there was the right amount of coleslaw. My dad got the Philly cheesesteak and opted for provolone, the entire sandwich was good in his opinion but would have much preferred the cheese whiz. The French fries are perfect! Just crispy enough where they aren't burnt, thick enough where you can appreciate the actual potato and the quantity of fries we got were more than enough. I lived in GA for 3 years and people frequently get their wings "fried hard". Never have I seen wings this dark. They sold me burnt wings and they tasted like burnt grease. I would rather them tell me their fryers were down. My friend got the pepper steak Philly and she said it tore her stomach up too.
