Overall 4.5/5 Gochi creates fusion dishes in a clever manner that just works and respects the traditional dishes which they come from. Unagi meshi - crispy and yummy. This is very different from the cantonese clay pot rice which I am used to, but I was pleasantly surprised. The rice is just as umami and crispy, and the dish itself is sweet and savory and quite good. The addition of dashi broth and wasabi is a must here; it pairs so well with the flavors of the eel and rice. Chashu miso pizza - the "pizza dough" is a light and crisp pastry resembling tempura batter. On top of the light batter is lots of cheese, mushrooms, pork, and miso sauce. The miso flavor here is incredibly mild, while the cheese and mushroom are the heaviest flavors in my opinion. I'm quite impressed with this pizza especially when it comes to the dough/crust. I would recommend trying this out. For a weekend meal, I highly recommend booking a reservation. Tables fill up quick and from your time of reservation, you get 90 minutes to order, eat, and leave. The cost is on the higher end, and I wouldn't go often, but the food is good enough to warrant an occasional visit.

I came here with my brother and we ordered a variety of different items ranging from pizza to clay pot rice, to carpaccio. The things we ordered included: Yuzu ceviche- This was delicious. The house made chips resembled ruffles and the ceviche was actually very refreshing. I couldn't stop taking bites out of it. Hints of citrus plus tomato, cucumbers, this was the perfect appetizer for clearing the palate before a meal. Ankimo - Monkfish liver, this dish was decent. The ponzu really shined and it wasn't fishy at all. Also oddly refreshing. The liver tasted like a paste almost. Sake carpaccio- Smooth, sweet, and light. The salon was nicely seared and tasted wonderful. Yakiniku Kochijan- The pizza crust was light and flaky and the cheese had an amazing cheese pull. The kimchi was subtle but it was definitely present in flavor. Jako Mentaiko Meshi- Dried fish and cod roe clay pot rice. The rice was super crispy and the dried fish had a ton of flavor. When mixed in thoroughly with the rice it just brings out the essence of the fish and the flavor. Overall, a solid spot!

Came here with three friends and we ordered a bunch of things to share, which is honestly the best way to try this place because their menu is HUGE. The okonomiyaki pizza was a bit disappointing -- the cabbage tasted quite bitter and all four of us noticed it right away. But I do want to mention that the service was really kind. When we brought it up, our server handled it very graciously and even took it off the bill, which we really appreciated. The kani cream croquette wasn't as creamy as I expected, but it still had its own charm and was enjoyable in a different way. The yaki onigiri was actually really good -- simple but satisfying, and it's been a while since I had one so that made me happy [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is on the darker, cozy side, and with such a wide variety of menu items, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes next time![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Came here with a larger group and get seated with the tatami mat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came to the Cupertino location before and enjoyed it. This place serves Japanese food tapas style and has something for everybody. Although the portions are a bit small for the price, the food is still pretty good. Sashimi moriwase (3/5): Not the freshest and this place does not specialize in sushi, so couldn't expect much. We got the salmon, tuna, aji, and octopus. Tako Salad (4/5): Just a plain salad with octopus. Nothing too special. Udon (5/5); Warm comforting and flavorful. That's all I could ask for. Beef garlic chip tataki(5/5); Chewy and flavorful. The citrus really brings out the flavor of the meat. Tempura moriwase (5/5):Fried a bit much, but there's a little bit of everything Buta meshi clay pot (5/5); Got this in a large size and you have to get this with a large party if you want to come out satisfied. The meat was plenty and mixed with seaweed. Overall great experience

Overall, the service was great. Food was okay considering the price. We ordered: octopus, mentaiko pizza, unagi clay pot and hojicha crème brûlée. Octopus was good! Tender yet firm while the scallops were fresh. The sourdough toast goes great with the sauce! Would order this again Mentaiko Fusion Pizza - a bit disappointing. Although the pizza has flavorful, I still couldn't taste any mentaiko. Mainly was the cheese, mushrooms and bacon flavoring. I wouldn't order this again Unagi Meshi - claypot was good, we ordered the small size with recommended dashi (extra $3.50). By itself, the dish was somewhat bland but after adding the dashi, there was flavor. Kinda annoying that you have to pay extra to get that. But for the size, it was a bit pricey ($39 plus $3.50 for dashi) Hojicha crème brûlée - would recommend! The nuttiness of the hojicha went well and this wasn't overly sweet

Came in a few years ago and decided to come back again this past Friday evening to see what it's like now. It was pretty packed even at 8 pm but we were seated fairly quickly. Our server was friendly and I was bummed that they don't offer tea. But all good. There were two separate menus offering similar items but different, so that was a little confusing. They seemed to be known for the clay pot rice and most tables had ordered at least one. So we decided to get a small dry pork curry to try. It came out sizzling hot and they helped us mix the rice. The small sizes were around $28 / $30+ and we thought that was really expensive for what it was. We also ordered their tempura udon (which was meh) and their yellowtail sashimi (pretty good). Overall, we felt the food was really overpriced. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place also looked a little dated and not very organized nor clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We loved izakayas but maybe would skip this one in the future!

Made a reservation for group of three on Saturday. I had a great experience in different location of Gochi so I had to take my friend who just moved to Northern California. It looks like they were busy, but service was great. Most of us got there on time and one person was still on the way. They were graciously able to have a sit right away without waiting my friend. We ordered four different kind of dishes and we enjoy them all. My friend said it was the best meal that she had since she moved to here and I was so happy that I took her there. All of the servers were nice and professional. We were there until almost their closing time, and they didn't give us pressure at all which I'm really thankful!

So delicious I'm still thinking about this meal. The service was amazing. There's a huge menu with lots of great options. This has been one of my favorite bites in South Bay. We ordered the sake oyako mesh with dashi to have the option for ochazuke, kurobuta katsu, tori karaage, and hojicha creme brulee. The rice clay pot dish had so much flavor and dimension. The katsu and karaage were both very crispy and fried to perfection. And the hojicha creme brûlée was the perfect sweetness. I would love to come back to try more of their dishes.

Food: Ordered Aka maguro ikura carpaccio (yellowtail tuna, ikura-salmon roe), Gyutan Shio Yaki (grilled beef tongue), kamo yuzu (grilled duck), and unagi meshi (BBQ eel clay pot rice). The carpaccio was tasty. Grilled duck was overcooked. Grilled beef tongue tasted alright. The clay pot's rice are the bottom was super crispy and yummy. Didn't take a pic of the clay pot rice because we were too hungry. Service: Came here on a Thursday evening. Service was not great. We didn't get water refilled. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small place and can get a little loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

More inventive food than I expected. Upon recommendations from our server we ordered Clay Pot (added an à la carte kimchee), kanpachi carpaccio, sake salmon, etc. my favorite dish was .... The kanpachi. Wonderful meal! Service was solid too.

Phenomenal service and attentive staff. Delicious Japanese tapas here with plenty to choose from! Wooden interior with cozy cubbies. Started off with the garlic green salad and if you're a garlic lover, it comes with garlic chips and garlic sauce. The agedashi tofu had subtle soy sauce flavor and the tofu they use is firm but has light crisp. The carpaccio had good quality and sauce! The potato gratin was cheesy, creamy, and hot coming out. The beef tataki was ok but wished it had more of a seared flavor. My favorites for this visit were the clay pot rice and Gindara Munier. The server helped mixed the clay pot rice perfectly. Delicious flavor, juicy chicken, and the crispy rice was perfect! The black cod was also cooked perfectly and mixed well with the plum sauce. It also has a nice crisp even when mixed with sauce. Lychee soymilk sorbet tasted refreshing and not too sweet. The green tea crème brûlée was creamy! Solid restaurant and all the food were delicious. Great staff and the restaurant does get busy! Small store here and would make reservations for peak times.

The focaccia bread and dipping sauce was very good to start. We also ordered the bruschetta trio. I hadn't read the menu clearly and they were large pieces of one with arugula, cherry tomatoes and an eggplant and onion bruschetta. I think if the bread was toasted better it would've been tastier. It is a bit difficult to eat as it is packed and wished the tomatoes were chopped up. I ordered the Carbonara Calabrese and never had carbonara with artichokes. It is a smaller portion for an Italian restaurant and unfortunately it was just okay. I really needed the crushed red pepper for more flavor. The guanciale had a bit too much fat for my liking. My friend had the gnocchi pomodoro and we thought the gnocchi was overcooked as it was quite mushy. Unfortunately I was disappointed as I had high hopes for this restaurant but have had much better.
