I'm loving Austin for the great diverse authentic food available. While nothing is perfect, I am really grateful for allowing Indian culture be shared---its food. Many regions of India may differ in its staple but the buffet today was a slice I wasn't expecting. The goat pujab was a great surprise. Amongst other things, I had little of everything and like most buffets, if you had a taste of everything, it is like trying to decide what's your favorite and least. They had desserts, and the chai milk corner which I missed u til I was on my way out. And of course we came here for the chicken 777.. it was crowded but staff was efficient. Yet another horrendous Indian restaurant in Austin. Went for the weekend buffet, and was so disappointed. The food was lukewarm (big no no for Indian food) and of very poor quality. All dishes I tried lacked flavor. There was hardly any meat in any of the dishes (I ate a lot of gravy). Horrible dessert options. No service to speak off. Tried the buffet . Some items were outstanding- the rice palav, vada pav , paneer tikka masala and desserts. The meat items were a bit disappointing. The chicken and goat pieces were chewy/ hard - :hard to eat. Still, for the rice / biryani dishes , the buffet was worth it. Paneer dosa was delicious. Naans are good. Ambience and cleanliness is both good. They mean spicccy when they say a dish is spicy. Ordered through doordash and the food was really disappointing. We ordered gongura chicken curry and raju gari chicken biryani . The biryani was just some spiced rice with few old chicken pieces thrown in. On top of that, the gongura chicken was undercooked, the meat was still pink in the middle. Came here for the lunch buffets on Wednesday and it was pretty solid. I tried all the meat options and skipped most of the vegetarian options. The curry options were pretty good and the South Indian street food that was included with the buffet was yummy. The attendants came by regularly to take away dirty plates. Friendly staff greeted us with a smile They have all you can eat buffet from 11-2:30 I had everything from butter egg, goat curry, kurma, cutlet, naan and so much more I couldn't keep tract, we must of tried 4 dishes we have never had. I had to take 3 trips and we left with a happy full belly Indian food is the most complicated to make/cook due to the extensive spices they use and this place has hit the mark from spice level and taste. The food lacked that fresh, flavorful authenticity you'd expect--dishes tasted a bit flat, and nothing came out hot, just lukewarm at best. This is a takeout review. Second time. Its delicious. But serious word of warning on heat levels. FAFO! Their medium brings the spice hard and I am pretty tolerant for a Caucasian. The rub on the chicken from the tandoor was amazing - I had a chopped up half lots of bones to navigate but if you love chicken this is for you. The eggplant dish we had was also amazingly good. But spiced medium was too much for the wife. The samosa was very good. The breads a bit dry for my taste. Huge menu. Sadly my raita fell out of the bag and thought it was forgotten. Recommend. Went for a buffet on Christmas Day, there were good amount of people. Lunch buffet spread was good with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Also was a pain puri stand. My friend and I are visiting friends in Austin and after a beer next door I suggested we try the "Indian place" That was the best idea. We walked into a very inviting building and were so warmly greeted. The menu was very large. They specialize in South Indian cuisine. My friend asked for any suggestions We had rounds of chai tea, some samosas and pakora for appetizers. The chutney was delicious. We got five a entrees with a variety of meats. Their southern dal was absolutely delicious, as was the goat Korma. Everything was delicious, the paneer, the tika masala and the saag. I do believe it was the best Indian food I've ever enjoyed. The items are just namesake with no flavor at all (or) too much flavor/salt/spice. The situation of my friend who is vegetarian is even worse. There are better places in Austin.
