    Pastry display. Amazing!
    Jeff S.

Every once in a while you find a place that is doing things with food that are mind blowing. Reinventing every day breakfast items into magical delights. When you enter this place and step up to the counter you realize you're at such a place. The pastry display is magical taking croissants and filling them with non every day items like Shakshuka, hotdogs and such. I had the chili crisp egg bowl which was amazing. Everything that was being consumed there looked just as amazing. I would definitely make your way over to this place asap. You're in for a treat.

Iced Turkish Delight latte. Quite sweet but interesting flavor :)

I came here several times while in town for a work trip because (1) it was close to my hotel, and (2) it was a really nice place! I tried the turkish delight latte both hot and iced (it's better hot, in my opinion) -- it's sweet and the flavor is unique which I really enjoyed! I also tried one of their pistachio croissants which was very sweet but it was tasty; I'd never had one before and liked the taste of the cream. They warm it up for you too, it's nice to have in the morning with coffee or tea. I also tried their chili crisp egg bowl on the day I left Chicago, which did store and travel well all the way to the airport where I had it about 1-1.5 hours later -- it was very tasty, and not too spicy (but had a strong kick!). The texture of the food was particularly nice and even though it was $15 which is a little high, I was certainly full. I would definitely have it again :) The inside of this place is also nice; it's usually pretty full and the tables are full (in the mornings anyway), but it would be a good place to hang out and study I think. The bathrooms are also very clean and the staff are nice, and they give you a $5 birthday coupon :) Overall would rec a visit here if you are around downtown Chicago and want a drink or pastry!

Obsessed with this place and I so wish we had one of these in St. Louis. I came here twice during the span of my time in Chicago for a work trip. It's such a cute and aesthetic spot, the decor and lighting gives it a fun vibe that sets the tone. The coffee is delicious, as is the food. I got a protein bowl and it was a pretty good portion. They have a wide selection of baked items that all look amazing. I was able to work there for a couple of hours, it was all great. Check it out!

The coffee here is very good, but the service is so painfully slow. It's a consistent issue, which is surprising given its proximity to the red line/morning commute route. The pastures are yummy, but coffee is the real winner. If they were able to tighten up the wait to even at 5min per customer, I'd be here so much more often!

I came here on the last day of neocon and the space was huge but I do recommend going a bit earlier to avoid the rush. I'm not sure if it's typically like that every weekday or just because of neocon. Everyone was super friendly and they brought my food out to me when I dined in. I like that the lattes you get when you dine in have a little muffin as well. I tried their cinnamon roll, iced tiramisu latte, and lox bagel. I do wish the tiramisu latte was a bit stronger but it was still pretty good. The lox bagel was delicious and the bagel was super soft and warm when I got it. The cinnamon roll was huge and absolutely delicious.

We stopped for a quick coffee and snack break. This is a beautiful space with comfortable seating. I just grabbed a latte and a Matcha latte. Also tried the spinach Parmesan croissant. Lovely experience. All day breakfast menu. Please come and greet your own adventure.

Any time I visit my son in Chicago, I have to go to Goddess and the Baker. It was the name that first drew me in; it's the food and coffee that keeps me coming back! Had breakfast here with my son before his graduation and it didn't disappoint! Although they are always busy, the service is friendly and efficient. We got our coffee within a few minutes of sitting down and our food not long after. The chilli crisp egg dish is outstanding- perfect blend of flavors and textures. And the chocolate mousse cake is delicious- yes, there's such a thing as breakfast dessert! The cafe is bright and full of natural light, clean and welcoming. We'll be back!!

It was very busy, but the service was extremely fast. The food was absolutely delicious, and the vibe to match it. I had a perfect cappuccino, and a perfectly cooked egg. If this place was on my commute, I'd be in there often.

Omggg the tiramisu iced latte was heavenly. The mascarpone cold foam is thick and rich, literally tastes like dessert on its own. The latte underneath is rich and not too sweet, which balances everything out perfectly once you mix it together. It would've leaned a bit bitter on its own, but with the foam it's spot on. 9.3/10 The space is aesthetic but definitely on the louder side, still a solid chill breakfast spot. They have a huge menu too with baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches, and even drinks like beer and wine, so it's easy to find something for any time of day.

Third Goddess place we trying in the city. Maybe just because of the time, we didn't need to fight for the seats - a big plus! Wanted some thing. A bit warm so landed on the protein bow which was decent for my taste. Egg, port, avocado are all really good. Was not sure what is the red sauce which didn't offset the bitterness with quinoa. Fruit tart was delicious. My kid swallowed the egg croissant so assuming it was really good. Nice leisure place for a late lunch.

Came before noon on a Saturday and it was busy, as it's right next to a Hilton hotel. The line moved relatively quick. I ordered for dine in and waited to be seated by a server. If you're a small group, expect to share a table! Since I was solo, I shared a long table with several other parties. What I got: - Impossible Breakfast Sandwich (4/5): This was pretty decent! I added some Cholula hot sauce to give it additional flavor and that really topped it off, yum! I wish they provided a knife if I chose to cut it in half, but the sandwich is manageable regardless. - Iced Oat Milk Latte (3/5): The ratio of milk was more, which lightened the taste. It was ok, but have had better on another occasion. Still enjoyed the muffin treat! I wish it came with a straw for dine in. I was alone and had to ask a stranger to watch my stuff while I went to grab one. Staff came around to promptly clean tables and seat other parties. Overall, a good, reliable quick bite with a large variety!

Seems like this is one of the busier Goddess and the Baker locations in the area. Overall the food was great and the service was great - would recommend this over the location we tried in the loop. Morning rush had a long line but a helpful employee came by and checked to make sure we were in the correct line (take out or dine in) which we wouldn't have known if he didn't ask us. The takeout like moved very quickly and this location had a very extensive selection of baked goods. We got the Shakshuka pastry, a couple of oatmeals, iced coffee, and the half and half juice. Everything was really good - the pastry was yummy, the oatmeal was hot and had the right balance of sweetness, coffee was fine, and the juice was refreshing and not too sweet.

    Chicken BLT, Chagaccino

Gem of a spot. If I lived in Chicago I'd be a regular here. Solidly affordable. Cheap but QUALITY specialty lattes, I've never seen a Chaya (mushroom) one at a cafe before so of course I got it. Not too sweet or earthy, exactly what I was looking for. The food is also delicious. I got the chicken BLT? nothing frivolous or greasy or heavy. The staff is friendly and brings you your order to your table.

Pulled up just before 6:30 AM on a weekday and there were just a few folks ahead of us in line, but service is quick. Cake donuts were actually pretty solid here; the Blueberry Cake Donut was the best item, super soft and moist with a good amount of berries throughout. The Pistachio Cake Donut for some reason was texturally firmer and drier than the other. Unfortunately, the fried donuts were all misses. The dough was just really dense and none of the toppings really hit. The Glazed Donut just made me sad that the dough was bad and the bacon on the Maple Bacon Donut wasn't crispy, so you got a cold, chewy, greasy bite that wasn't super pleasant. The chopped dough pieces in the Apple Fritter were also oddly firm instead of soft. For a place with rave reviews, I was pretty bummed by the donuts, but maybe the fried chicken sandwich is where it's at.

I decided to try that iced and it was amazing. My husband got the vanilla latte and didn't like it as much, it was pretty watery and didn't have much flavor neither coffee nor vanilla. First, I explored the endless snack aisles and selected a bag of chocolate-hazelnut biscuits to take home. I couldn't resist the gelato and tried the pistachio flavor (yum!) On my next visit to Eataly a couple of days later, I ordered a cappuccino, and while my beverage took a long time to prepare, the espresso tasted very high quality. The pastries looked stunning and decadent, and I imagine they'd pair wonderfully with espresso if you have time to linger at the cafe (I was in a hurry to get to a work meeting). The next day, my team and I visited Eataly's restaurant for lunch. I selected the anchovy toast as my starter and the gnocchi for my main as part of the lunch special. The toast consisted of two slices of sourdough bread topped with creamy lemon spread and anchovies. The contrast of the bright lemon flavor with the ultra-salty anchovies was tempered by the creamy butter - these all paired together quite well. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was underwhelming. The gnocchi was much too soft (it had the texture of mashed potatoes), and the red sauce was bland. All in all, visiting Eataly was a cool way to experience gourmet Italian food.

Considering this place is supposed to have some class, we were pretty appalled that they seemed to do the bare minimum for this event. I felt very deceived by how this event was advertised online vs in real life. It seems they intentionally left out details and was marketed as five tastings at five counters, but we receieved barely a sample at each sation. The website said 1. house made pasta - you have one option and it was three bites, no vegetarian option 2. roman-style pizza - only thing I won't complain about although still a small portion 3. Curated drink from Caffe Lavazza - this was a dixie cup portion of a blended Frappuccino 4. house made pastry - they gave you the option of literal bite sized dessert, not a whole pastry 5. the artisanal salumi and formaggi - pathetic, literally 1 piece of meat, three pieces of the same type of cheeses, three olives, and dry stale crackers. Honestly for what they offer this was a slap in the face and from a consumer perspective Eataly's attempt at a summer money making scheme. I would find it hard to believe anyone who rave about this event, in fact I imagine most left very underwhelmed and still hungry. Eataly itself might be a great experience but we did not have the opportunity. We enjoyed the spritz drinks we ordered for their $9 summer special but this event did not make me want to return at all. It unfortunately dangled everything they could have offered in front of us, but then gave us the lowest tier. Driving in traffic to do this was not worth the time, gas, parking or inconvenience and the best part of our city night was when we stepped out of Eataly.
