I honestly wasn't interested in trying this kbbq place for a while. However, they recently added the All You Can Eat (AYCE) to their menu. We typically love a good all you can eat choice so we decided to check it out. The service was quick, and it was a busy day in the village. The meat quality was delicious!! I would definitely recommend this spot. It's a casual dining spot, and you don't need a reservation. We did walk in and got a seat immediately. The hard thing to find with kbbq is great quality meat, sides, and dips for the meat. This spot literally does all three! And they were super clean. They also have the little food lamps above each table. The price is a bit more expensive compared to other kbbq spots in the DMV. Most places know and hot pot are typically around $35 for All You Can Eat, but this place is $45. It's not somewhere I'd be coming to all the time, since there's other really good places with all three for around $35; however, I'll still come once in a while. I think most places in Leesburg Village are a bit over priced so maybe that's just the area. read more

TLDR: very good Korean BBQ spot for the location and price. My wife and I took her sister here because they both wanted Korean bbq. We had never been to this spot specifically. My wife and I go to Korean bbq quite frequently so it was going up against the likes of Meat Project and The Qui. I can honestly say it holds its own. They have an all you can eat (AYCE) option now which is appreciated. The quality of the meats here is a highlight for sure. The brisket and the galbi are highlights for me. The pork was also really good. The cheese corn and steamed egg were pretty good sides as well. The service here was good. The waiter asked if we knew how to cook it or if we wanted help. That was appreciated since many other places insist on cooking it for you, which defeats the purpose of kbbq imo. The ambiance is very clean and modern. But the difference we noticed is that the exhaust fans are lower. It's nice for keeping it from smoking up if the grill is too hot. But it's a little annoying for trying to talk to someone on the other side of the table. read more

Second visit to Gogi 92. This time for my Birthday. Happy to say the service had not faded but in fact gotten better. Ambiance was as nice as I remembered. Food was delicious as before. Had the Combo 4 large and the portions were enough for the three of us. Our server Jed was also great. Good knowledge of the dishes and recommendations of how to pair the different sides with the meats to get the best flavor. Well, in my opinion this Korean BBQ shop is average. Adding one star for attentive waiter. Meat quality is average considering the spectrum of KBBQ. We are frequent KBBQ patrons, typically eat out every week, and have experience visiting places like honey pig, kogiya, Iron Age, gogiville etc., and eventually picked gogiville as our favorite DMV KBBQ destination. Gogi 92 is pretty average like we said among its competitors. We ordered 3 a la carte meat and got one side dish, a bit more "restrictive" comparing to some other shops but the kimchi soup we got had a lot of pork in it so kinda make up for it. Also, the lettuce / garlic / pepper combo for wrapping is good. We also ordered a noodle entree which was a bad mistake, the Japchae was not worth it, but I guess it applies to all KBBQ places so can't really hold it against them. DAMN. You know what? For just the ONE THING I HAD as my "linner" (late lunch, early dinner) around 4PM today....I GIVE THAT ONE ENTREE FIVE FREAKING STARS. Five. Why then the 4 star rating? Because I do really have to be fair and reserve that extra 5th star for an overall restaurant rating for when I go back and try other items, namely the KBBQ meats that this place is named for ("Gogi" means "meat" in Korean). I was in the shopping area - Village at Leesburg - for the afternoon, knew I would need to find a bite to eat solo so opened up my trusty Yelp app to see what hit my fancy and VOILA - up popped Gogi 92. A Northern VA Magazine "Best of" I noted. That didn't really matter though - Korean cuisine, walking distance, open and reasonably priced for what I wanted? BAM! I was there. Saw the BULGOGI BIBIMBAP on the menu and my mind was made up! I walked into a completely empty restaurant around 4PM but the 2 servers were more than happy to accommodate l'il ol' me wanting just a l'il ol' bibimbap. :) That was it. That was all I ordered. The jug of ice cold water was all I needed for my drink. One thing that was unfortunate was that the bibimbap was NOT accompanied by the usual small bowl of clear broth nor was the bibimbap accompanied by any banchan. :( I sucked it up and just stuck with my bibimbap order. And IT WAS THE BEST $16 I'VE SPENT ON A FRESH, MADE-TO-ORDER MEAL IN RECENT MEMORY. I'm not used to having bibimbap that's not "dolsotted" - that's not in a sizzling hot stone bowl that I'm always used to ordering. I haven't had a "regular" un-dolsotted bibimbap in AGES. YEARS. I had no choice here. But you know what? IT WAS SO GOOD. It was beautifully presented in its silver metal bowl. I do have to admit, at first glance, it appeared to be a smaller portioned entree. I wondered if it would be enough for me. I would say that anyone used to a more heartier meal might be for want of something more to satisfy their hunger but for me, it ended up being just the right amount of food (and I came in hungry!). The variety of veggies in this dish was plentiful and SOOOO FRESH AND VIBRANTLY COLORFUL, every one of them. The bulgogi meat was SUPERB. Marinated JUST RIGHT and PLENTIFUL - every single bite had a good portion of meat in it - that plentiful. The rice was cooked JUST RIGHT. Not too mushy, not too hard. JUST RIGHT. And the cup of spicy bean paste sauce to mix in pulled everything together beautifully in every delicious bite. Let me say one more thing about the bulgogi in this dish - if Gogi 92's grilled KBBQ marinated beef cuts are anything at all like the beef they put in their bibimbap, then...I'm really excited about coming back to try their KBBQ!!! Pretty good Korean BBQ place. Been there several times and the service has been friendly and efficient. We prefer to cook our own meat, but the servers are attentive and are there to refill any of your sides. You can usually get a table without a wait. Doesn't have the same vibe as some of the places in Centreville with the K-Pop playing at volume 11 or with the all-Korean staff, but I think it's a solid choice for those of us who live out in the western suburbs. This place is very cleaning and inviting. When you walk in, you are immediately welcomed and seated, granted we came around 5:00 pm. Around 6:00 pm, it started to fill up. I really like the ambiance of this place. Please ask for Mandy. She is very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and all the dishes. Now I recommend that you start with the fried dumplings. They are full and delicious. We had the marinated shrimp, and it was good with the various sauces. Other than that, any seasoning they put on them is cooked off. I wish they had some garlic or something on the side to cook with it. The next thing we ordered was the Bulgogi Jeongol, man. I thought I was back in Korea. It was very delicious and flavorful. The prices are comparable to other Korean BBQ in the region. They also have special combos.so that you can try a combination of things. FINALLY Leesburg has a Korean restaurant! Growing up, I always had to drive to Centreville or Annandale to eat Korean food that wasn't made by my mom. I'm so excited that Gogi 92 opened up and makes some amazing Korean food! First off, the atmosphere is better than a lot of kbbq places because their music is at a reasonable volume. The service was also excellent! Our waiter meticulously cooked our kalbi, turning the grill as he cooked, and made sure it came out perfectly! Not burnt at all! And the kalbi bones that he carefully watched over were absolutely sublime. We ordered two small combo 2s and enjoyed all of the meats. My favorite was obviously the kalbi , but the thinly sliced brisket was also excellent. It had more meat and less fat than the meat you'd get at your typical AYCE kbbq place, so it was definitely higher quality!! Even all of the banchan was amazing. We loved the kimchi because it didn't taste too fermented. Gotta love some fresh kimchi! The soybean paste soup and steamed egg were also excellent. The soup was on par with what you'd get at any restaurant in Annandale or centreville. We also got the spicy rice cake and thought it was decent. The sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste and there wasn't much rice cake. But the rice cake was soft and slightly chewy, which is exactly how it should be! The seafood pancake was excellent. Crispy and slightly browned on the outside but also a little chewy on the inside. There was also ample seafood and veggies in the pancake! This is easily my favorite restaurant in Leesburg! Gogi 92 is a Korean BBQ geared more towards Americans than Koreans. Not a bad thing, it's just a bit different as far as experience goes. This makes sense considering it's in leesburg and not Annandale. Gogi is very modern inside! It's a pretty new restaurant, clean and comfortable. The grills are the cast iron type so there's no real charring on the meat. The food is very good! High quality meats (they are proud of their platinum pork). We got the combo #4 (ribeye steak, marinated bite size short ribs, brisket, and shrimp) and we added spicy pork. Their Banchan is limited compared to other places but again, it's geared towards Americans not used to the idea of banchan or anjou. Decent selection of soju and beer. Service is very good as well though I don't believe anyone speaks Korean. Servers are efficient and attentive but more so than in a traditional Korean place. We were the first customers to dine in and got seated very promptly. The menu prices were pretty expensive, as they had the meat prices by the ounce. So, we ordered a Combo BBQ entree and a Bulgogi Kimchi Cheese Fries. Over $140 for 3 people! Portions were pretty small for the meat, though. We waited a bit for a table and was told if we aren't around when our name is called, they'd move to the next party after a few minutes - so stick around if you're on the wait list. To start off I usually take photos of all the food I eat, but I was so hungry when I went (3/25/2023 at around 8:00 PM) that I ate everything so fast. Been to Gogi 92 three times now and is by far my favorite Korean Barbecue (KBBQ) place and even tops the places in Centreville and Chantilly. Went with my parents who have only had KBBQ a couple of times and they loved it! We got Combo 2 with Seafood Udon and it was amazing! The Marinated Boneless Short Rib was by far the best and extremely flavorful as well as the Marinated Bite Sized Short Rib. The egg was by far the best I ever had compared to other places and tasted good with every bite and the salad bowl was to die for. Massive shout-outs to our waiter, Alex V! He was extremely helpful in describing all the ban chan (sides) and refilled them quickly so that we can enjoy everything when we were there. He was also extremely personable as well and it was great getting to know him. By far one of the most attentive waiters (if not the best and might even my top review for Din Tai Fung) as he always checked up on us to make sure everything was good. My only thing that would help with the restaurant is considering renovating the floors to make it more appealing as the floors were rather old and washed out. Huge shout out to BUBBA!! My boyfriend and I tried this spot out for my birthday back in November of 2021. Bubba was our waiter and he was absolutely amazing and helpful. He had a sense of humor and stayed with us the entire time to help us cook the meats while also helping others. He even showed us how to eat certain things the correct way and the traditional way giving us lettuce to make wraps with the meats and sides. The conversation we had with him and the level of customer service was impeccable. I hope he knows it. He told us he had previously been a head chef at a different establishment and we were not shocked at all. He's great. Give the man his flowers please! This place is great! It just opened up and is a fantastic addition to Loudoun. High quality food, great service, and a fun unique experience. I've read some bad reviews, and honestly you can just ignore them. People expect this place to be all you can eat because similar restaurants use that model, but it's for far lower quality meats. This is the same owner as Noku sushi in the same plaza, and he is all about quality. He wanted to open a higher end Korean BBQ in Loudoun, in contrast to the more run of the mill AYCE options closer to DC. The menu has a lot of variety. Loudoun County your time has come to have a Korean BBQ place that doesn't require you to haul out to Centerville or Annandale! Full disclosure, this review is being done during their soft opening period. The interior décor is modern with a fairly neutral color palette. Our party was seated immediately into a booth which could accommodate four people. The inset grill pan is prominently featured in the middle of the table and looked larger than others places I've been. One neat feature is the venting hood which can be pulled down to vent out the smoke from the BBQ more easily. The banchan was laid out and consisted of horse radish pickles (mild), pickled radishes and jalapeños, kimchi, Korean potato salad, cold buckwheat noodles, steamed egg, side salad, and soybean paste stew. The banchan is unlimited, however the rice is not, according to our server there is a dollar up charge for an additional serving, however, it did not show up on the final bill. Our party chose combination number two which consists of prime beef brisket (thinly cut), marinated bite-sided prime beef rib, prime hangar steak, marinated beef bulgogi. Looking at the cuts of meat, the quality is superior to other places I've been. The meats themselves had a tremendous amount of marbling and the portion sizes were just right. The server will ask you if you'd like to cook your BBQ or if you'd like them to cook it for you. The first thing that went onto the grill was the prime beef brisket and the sizzle and aromas you got from it will set your mouth watering. One tip, if you're used to sesame oil and salt as a dipping sauce, you'll need to ask your server for it, what comes out as part of the normal lineup is a sweet soy, Asian chimichurri, and hot pepper dip. When the brisket came off the grill, I devoured it in a hot minute, yes not my proudest moment, but it was just that good. Next up was the hangar steak which was properly seasoned, again this was another hit, done to a medium rare, the steak is very tender. Try dipping it in the Asian chimichurri sauce if you want to switch things up. This round of grilled goodness did not last long either so tried to pace myself by eating more banchan. The next round was the beef bulgogi, which had a sweet soy marinade. It sizzled as it hit the grill plate and then you could smell the other spices in the marinade. The bulgogi did not need any dipping sauce at all and was complemented by the kimchi to add some spice. In between meats I usually like to nosh on the pickled radishes and jalapeños which helps clear my palette. The final round was the marinated prime beef rib. What more can I say other than the flavor was amazing, whoever supplies this place with their meats has a new fan. If anything the owner of this establishment should receive big kudos for offering such high quality cuts. My only regret is that I don't have enough room in my stomach to have more of this BBQ goodness. Some may think that hey why is this place not all you can eat? I would reply that a well curated selection of BBQ items which are of higher quality will be more satisfying than trying to fill up on meats of lower quality. With combination number two under my belt, I'll be back to try out the other combinations. Oh another thing to note, while they're sorting out the liquor license, you can BYOB, yep that's right if you bring alcohol you can drink it with your meal.
