Found this little gem while wondering around Jacksonville, OR. You could tell the Chef was the Owner from just the love in the food. We had a cold smoked loin of yellowtail with root vegetables that was our favorite meal of our 15 day vacation. Can't wait to back to the town of Jacksonville and experience Gogi again. Large party. Everyone ordered something different. Every entree was exceptional. Monk fish was special for the evening and it was the best I have ever had. The only place to eat in Jacksonville as far as I'm concerned. It's cozy and inviting. The wonderful smells emanating from the tiny kitchen will drive you bonkers while you are reading the menu. The wine list is ample and diverse. The service is really great too and the servers seem to work in unison, which is a rarity. This place is hidden a little bit, so you might have to ask where it is while walking in this amazing little town that seemed to drop out of a Clint Eastwood spaghetti western. I was dining here once and sat next to Sharon Gless from Cagney & Lacey fame and she seemed to be in heaven too! Gigi's is just a real treat all around. Beef Tenderloin!!!... I second that. The cremebule (sp?) was AAAMMMAZZZING.... best in Southern Oregon! (And I've tried it everywhere because it is my favorite dessert!) It was scrum-diddly-umptious! I give this restaurant an 5 star rating as far as atmosphere, friendliness of staff, and exceptional food goes! On a side note... the tempura mushroom appetizer was more like deep fried mushrooms... and I didn't care for that. But everything else was fantastic and it was a wonderful date night for my boyfriend and me!! read more

Love this place! Where do I begin? The decor and atmosphere are a must see, beautiful hanging greenery and dimly lit 5 star ambiance. The staff is so pleasantly accommodating and make you feel welcome immediately. And lets not forget about the cuisine... It is seriously out of this world. We have never had a bad dish and another plus is they describe the culinary process from start to finish so you know exactly how it's prepared. I would give this place more stars if I could. My wife and I had our second dinner in Jacksonville, OR. The fist was at the local Inn the second at Gogi's and what a difference! Food was outstanding and service very friendly. My wife had the filet, which I finished and I the gnocchi which was excellent and much different than any I have had. Well I have eaten here a few times and this will probably be the last it's just not worth it. You know when you go to a nice restaurant and drop a couple 100 on dinner it should be good food good experience wright? It started with ordering, the waiter was buzzing around at all the other tables but ours to begin with. When we ordered he was alittle put off that we wanted to change vegetables on a dinner entree even though they charged for it he said he had to ask the Chef. What if we had allergies? Pork belly appetizer terrible, overcooked with horrible gelatin watermelon blobs on the plate. Then halfway through the appetizer course our waiter brings the salad.. What?? The salmon was overcooked. And the lamb shank was missing all the wonderful poaching liquid it was cooked in, making it dry and un enjoyable . Dessert was the best thing a creme brûlée . But sorry it ended there ,we ordered a specific scotch ,. We didn't get THAT scotch got something else. I think the waiter thought we would never know, well we did cause its the only scotch we drink So anyway it wasn't worth the price of admission. Gogi's has definitely gone downhill for us. We just weren't treated to a wonderful evening of food, wine and service. read more

My absolute favorite place in all of Southern Oregon. Great diversity on the menu, everything is fresh and lots of local produce and meats. You won't see a Sysco truck delivering there. From drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert everything has been delicious and I've never been disappointed. You can usually only find a spot like this in larger cities. read more

Stopped in at 2040 on a friday night for a dessert and cocktail. Although we didn't realize they closed at 2100, they were technically still open for 20 more minutes. They had to check if they could still give us dessert and were not offering most cocktails as they had already cleaned and put up the bar, even though they still had a patio full of guests. The servers were very nice, but call me crazy, I think an establishment should still be fully open during their business hours. We opted to leave as they weren't willing to make us an old fashioned which is what the hubby was hankering for on his birthday because the muddles were already cleaned and put away. Just feel as though it was a tad unprofessional and am not sure if we'll attempt again. read more

Had a excellent dinner. Had both of my favorites. Scallops and fresh halibut. Oh so good. My only mark off is: water was room temp not cold and very noisy. Had a VERY LOUD table of 2 gals next to us. Still if in area would go there again. Food was excellent!!!! read more

Our first visit and our last. We had the beet and watermelon salad with feta and mint. I did not find any mint and very little watermelon and feta. Although my husband enjoyed the special of the steak, the potatoes served with it were a big zero. I had the cod and it was very bland with not much flavor. I can say the food was good not excellent but good. That's where it stopped. From the moment we walked in the employees were rude and acted as if we or other weren't good enough for restaurant. It was the worst service I can say I've had in ages. We asked for our bread three times after our salads arrived and each time the waitress seemed to be irritated and put out. It took a long time to receive our dinner. 300-plus dollar bill for five people to be treated like crap. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

We stop in Jacksonville every year on our family road trip up the west coast and in the past we always had great meals at the McCully House but decided to try Gogi's based on Yelps. We entered the restaurant after the Brit show had started so there were only a few tables filled on a Friday night at 7:30, and the place is warm and friendly but a bit stuffy as a small indoor restaurant often can be. I was starting to wonder if we made the wrong choice in switching our traditional dining place, but that concern was quickly dispelled by a friendly and professional waiter and an ambitious and inviting menu. Started with a pear martini that had slices of fresh pear floating in the top, and a couple of apps that were just knockouts. The porkbelly and polenta, and the roasted garlic and cheese plate with olives were perfectly prepared and we wiped the plates clean with the very fresh and rustic bread. For entrees we ordered the duck confit, quail, grilled salmon and scallops on a bed of roasted sweet corn. All 4 dishes were perfectly prepared and seasoned and the presentation was beautiful. The sauces, the sides - one taste and you immediately knew you were eating something special. I never expected to find such a top-notch restaurant while on the road, and the value for this level of food quality is excellent. They do not have a kids menu but they didn't miss a beat in offering to slice up the lasagna noodles which were on the menu and make a simple buttered noodle dish (only thing my daughter will eat). The noodles were so fresh tasting and flavorful that my son and I kept stealing bites from her plate. If there is any flaw it might be the desserts. The dessert menu the night we were there was somewhat of a letdown after the incredible dinner menu, but the vanilla creme brulee was still delicious and spot on, just not up to the level of innovation we experienced with the dinner - quite a hard act to follow that's for sure. It's hard to believe you can get this kind of food here in Jacksonville. We had dinner at Gogi's tonight. An entree of Rack of Lamb was succulent and flavorful with a red cream accompaniment and Blue Corn paste beneath that was flavorful and mouth-filling. Our friends had a vegan dish of beets that was quite satisfying. An excellent wine from Caprice Vineyards paired well with the meal. And dessert of Creme Caramel, an extremely rich custard with delicious caramel topping finished the meal. With a bit of Remy Martin made it all worthwhile. What a meal. And you can get this kind of gourmet cuisine in Southern Oregon. Wow! An A-Plus. read more

We ate at Gogi's twice in one week during our Oregon trip. Some of the best meals I've had in a long time. The salmon tartare appetizer was a revelation. My gnocchi, which I ordered both times because it was so good, was probably the best pasta dish I've ever had in the U.S. Desserts are killer. 4th time at this restaurant and it never fails to please. Nice atmosphere, excellent service (from one of the two owners, the other owner is the chef), and terrific local food. 3 of us had steak, the other had pork chop. All were done to perfection, with delicious side dishes: sweet potato hash, fingerling potatos, green beans, asparagus. The salads and appetizers were delicious as well, with substitutions willingly offered by the staff. If you are close to Jacksonville, I strongly recommend you check this place out. read more

Not what I expected, the reviews are good but i was let down. We went there for a special occasion ad it was just okay. My duck was braised but very dry and had several small bones in it. I had to be careful to pull them out of my mouth before swallowing! My husband had the braised Lamb shank - not the best one he's had. Service was good but the food was average. read more

My husband and I went here for our 1st anniversary celebration. The waiter was informative, attentive, and very pleasant. The food was nothing short of amazing! They are on the higher end of the price range, but very much worth it. I highly recommend Gogi's for a special evening. In case you are wondering how Gogi's is pronounced, we asked. Both of the g consonants are pronounced with a hard G. Gogi was the original owner. He immigrated to this country from Russia, hence the name. Really tasty food, but what blew me away was my drink. The lemon lavender martini was probably the best drink I've ever had. The bartender fresh squeezes the lemons, and made it exactly how I asked (not too sweet). Unfortunately, due to the price point, I won't be dining there much, but I would definitely recommend it if it's in your budget. read more
