But let me tell you, this place confirmed I need to not base my restaurant choice off of stars. This place is GREAT! Hot hot hot chicken tenders and huge! They have so many options for sides. We got our food and we're blown away with the hot chicken(as chicken should be) and large portions. We realized why the food was a tad bit pricier than Bushes or other places. My order was not correct. I ordered a 6 piece tender combo, 2 piece tender kids meal all spicy and every tender that came in my order were all regular tenders. I was not only disappointed with my tenders but also disappointed with the fries that came with both orders, they were cold and bland. Only thing that came good on the order were the drinks that we did not get straws for and 4 piece poppers. Along with the straws not given upon order there was no napkins at all in my order. It's really sad because not only were my boyfriend and I excited about eating what we ordered but we were sure they wouldn't be messed up because Luke (cashier/host) asked and marked both orders spicy. First of all, I would like to say I love Golden Chick. It is a family fave in our household. We come to this location a lot but 98% of the time we go through the drive-thru and have no issues. Well, yesterday my husband & I decided to dine in since we were running errands in the area. We walk in and there are 4-5 employees ready to serve customers...but were talking amongst themselves for more than a few minutes as we waited to order. Finally a young African American girl comes to the counter like she was not happy to be the one to take our order. She dragged and made a face the whole time I was ordering-she was not friendly or even smiled at-all. I was surprised to have seen someone that is the face at your establishment be the one at the front. When I picked up my order, I clearly saw that my chicken strips were not spicy. I failed to tell her I wanted spicy on one of my orders-no big deal...I can ask for the spice packets. Or so I thought. When I asked for packets she placed them on the counter and looked again bothered by being there....said, next time we will charge you. I look at her and said, next time-you ask me if I want spicy or original and waited on a response. She just mumbled and walked away saying what-ever! I am her to write a view based on that incident alone. I would have shrugged off all the other stuff but it was her wanted to charge me for your packets when this whole time I ask, and have never had any of your employees tell me you all charge (which is fine if now you do) its the way she presented herself. I have worked with customers for 29 years of my life and have learned if people don't share how my employees are doing how will I know? I cant be there 24/7...so I am writing to tell you about this one. She needs training. Thank you for taking the time to read. Let me begin this by saying that I've eaten at this golden chick a few times before, but this review is in regards to an experience I had as an Uber Eats delivery driver. I came to this golden chick and parked because the drive thru line was long but this family of about 6 was at the door talking to the manager. I assumed that the lobby was probably closed for dine in but he let all of them in to eat, so I thought "cool he'll definitely give me the order I need to pick up, right?" but no, the door was locked when I got to it and I watched him take the family's giant order and hand them their cups. After this he simply made eye contact with me and pointed at the drive thru. I put my phone with the order details on the glass and pointed at it but he just shrugged and pointed at the drive thru again. I then pointed behind him because I realized that the order was literally ready to go (there was a bag with stickers for delivery and a drink that matched the one in the order) but when he looked at it he still just shrugged and pointed at the drive thru. Why? I'm not gonna wait in the drive thru and waste 30 minutes of my time and gas for an order that's just going to get cold BECAUSE IT'S ALREADY READY TO BE DELIVERED. Why are you willing to let a family of 6 argue with you to let them dine in while you just force a delivery driver to waste time waiting to pick up an order that's ready to be delivered? Sometimes hot and fresh, sometimes lukewarm and forgettable. The Golden Chick has multiple choices of chicken from fried tenders to baked chicken combinations, if you have a hankering for some fried goodness. The rolls are great and are similar to Hawaiian sweet rolls but larger. My family has been there multiple times and have had decent service but hit or miss on the food. For the prices, Raising Canes, Chick-Fil-A or even Church's may offer similar more consistent good fried tenders and sandwiches. I love the fries, but can stand an "old" tasting chicken tender. For sure the Golden Chick, like other fast-food eateries, is a definite "check-the-bag" kind of place if you don't want to waste money or a trip back to return food that's just not fresh. read more

They state on their sign that 3 sides comes with their meal but when I ordered two sides of jalapeño poppers, they uncharged me $.80 per order. After wanting to try Golden Chick for awhile now, we decided to visit the location closest to where we live at 22002 US 281 North. We ordered the 25 piece Golden Tenders Meal, the 15 piece Fried Chicken Meal, the 9 piece Leg and Thigh Fire Roasted Meal, along with extra yeast rolls and an 8 piece order of Jalapeno Poppers totaling $99.49. When ordering at the register we asked if the Chicken as well as the 3 Family Sides of Fries and 1 Family Side of Okra could be made fresh to order. We were told that it would be about a 20 minute wait and we let the employee taking our order know that it wouldn't be a problem. We sat at a table inside and received our order 30 minutes later. Once we were home and started to unpack everything we realized that out of the 7 Family Sides we should have received with the 3 Family Meals we ordered, we were missing the Fried Okra. I immediately called the location, provided them with my ticket number and explained that the Family Size Okra was not included in any of the 4 large bags that we had been given. I was put on hold by an employee. Once he returned to the phone to let me know that he had spoken with his manager, he stated that she had said that she was the one that was responsible for bagging the order and the Okra had been included. I let him know that every bag we had was unpacked and I had looked through every box and bag 3 times and there was absolutely NO Family Size Okra included with what we were given. He asked me to hold and I did. Again, HE returned to the phone except this time he advised me that because the manager and I had conflicting stories about whether or not the Okra was included in one of the bags with the order that she was going to have to "investigate" what happened to the missing Okra! At that point, I asked for the Corporate number while we waited for her to conduct her "investigation". Again, I was asked to hold. Once the employee returned to the phone I took the name and number of the District Manager for that location that he provided me with, but still was not given Corporate's contact information. I made it very clear to the employee that it was ridiculous that we spent $100.00 on this particular order and was made to feel as if we were attempting to "scam" them out of an order of Okra. I gave the employee my name and contact number and specifically stated that I expected and would be awaiting a phone call from the manager once she concluded her "investigation" into the case of the missing Okra, regardless of the outcome. Over 5 hours has passed and still NO phone call. Maybe she is still reviewing security footage? The location itself is clean and with the exception of this particular "manager" it was my experience that the staff is helpful and professional. My family and I were extremely happy with every menu item we purchased and actually received. Unfortunately, the actions and lack of professionalism and customer service from the one individual that was placed in a leadership role in order to set an example for the rest of the team will overshadow any positive recommendations moving forward. read more

Golden Chick Spicy Tender Strips are soo good! The roll is buttery sweet and you can substitute okra for fries. The service is not perfect. One time they were out of rolls for my family meal so they didn't charge me for another item. I almost always find that they throw in extra chicken in my box without charging for the more expensive meal. I can put up with a little inconsistency in service if the food is good enough. read more
