Not the most pleasant people. The egg drop soup had no flavor other than dye. Sushi was dry and kinda old. Not a very good selection of what you would consider traditional Chinese food. My first visit to this restaurant for lunch was awesome, without a single complaint. However, after waiting a full month to repeat that awesome experience I was dropped flat level with absurd disappointment! I waited so long to try the dinner menu which included steak prepared to my individual liking with is medium rare. My daughter and I went for the lunch menu on Sunday, however because we were unable to get an evening to ourselves. I asked the wait staff before we sat down if they were still serving the lunch menu and he assured me they were. There is a price difference between lunch and dinner and I wanted to make sure which I would be paying. The food in the trays were not even enticing but we were very hungry and were confident we would have a similar experience as before, but the food was room temperature and dried out, and tasted nothing like it had on our first visit. When I received my check for the food it was the dinner prices so I asked about that and they said they only served dinner menus on the weekends. I asked about the steak first and asked why our wait staff had not asked us how we would like our steaks prepared and that we had been told that lunch was being served still and not that we would be served dinner prices. The young man who later claimed to be the manager had a too bad attitude and still didn't offer us steak or the senior citizen discount or any other compensation for our bad experience. I called when I got home to speak to someone in higher management and the supposed manager refused to give me any information and hung up on me. When I called back he had blocked my number so I used another phone. This time even though I had remained entirely civil he threatened to call the police if I kept harassing him and hung up on me. I then called the police and told him the threat launched against me and asked if there were any recourse to the managers actions. The officer informed me I had not done anything that they would consider harassment and suggested I post to Yelp!, BBB and social media. Thank you kind officer...customers must have some recourse. I hope the owner of Golden Chopsticks sees this post and retrains his staff. I will not go back and I am rapidly recanting my initial endorsement. Had this MANAGER handled the situation appropriately I would have chalked it up as the good cooks day off. But rude, belligerent and distasteful actions from paid staff will never garner my favorable review. The only appropriate response to my complaint was to offer us steaks cooked to our liking to go or refund a portion of the price I was charged. read more

I gave a one star cause it was the lowest it would allow me to rate this joint at. I really did expect a lot from this place, I mean I'm sure they at least tried there biggest competitor buffet King. With that said lets get to the food ok my first plate was FROZEN I blew steam when I went to take my first bite lol. I immediately asked to speak with a manager about the whole deal but during the 20 minutes of waiting on him to come over to my table i decided maybe I shouldn't be so quick to judge so when he came over I told him never mind and sat for about 5 more minutes and then went back for seconds keep in mind my first plate looked just like it did when I sat down as to when they took it away. As I was about to get up for seconds I was approached by the manager he asked me if the problem was the food and I said yes it's cold and the fried rice is yellow in color to where it looked more like Spanish rice and the the fried shrimp turned into powder in my mouth to the point to where I had to spit it out (gross)!!! He then replied yes I know its the food that's the problem in a kind manner and I said I'll get me another plate and give it another shot. When I went back to the table yes it was fresh and warm but the taste was no where close to what I have ever tasted at any Chinese buffet I've been to and I have made sure to stop at least one in every city I've been. The general chicken sauce was super thick like bbq sauce I took one bite and nope into a napkin it went I just couldn't stand the taste and the smell it left in my mouth. I had a bad after taste in my mouth until I made it home to brush my teeth. When the manager circled the area I was seated at for the hundredth time he approached and asked what did I think of the food and my wife told him if you guys wouldn't charge me for my food I would appreciate it she took two bites of her first plate and couldn't do another. They didn't charge for her and gave me a 20% discount and I said if you could just let me have the bill plz and I'll pay. Hold on to your seats. I was expecting the bill to be around $15 no more then that and keep in mind there are no visible sign of the prices and if there was I wouldn't have know I was rushed at the door in a good way as they were greeting us in we were escorted to our table and that I'd give 4 stars too. So my bill turns out to be $27 dollars with the discount and and my wife's plate free. not worth it. I hope my bad experience will shed some light for you. read more
