We decided to try this Corral. As we were walking in a little after 7:30PM, we noticed people were leaving. As we got to the cashier, we were told they close at 8PM. The hostess assured us that there would be plenty of food for us. We were seated, but, it seemed like our waitress was already off forgetting our request for water and not clearing our plates. The cook staff seemed off as no more new food was cooked. It was not a good experience. I doubt we will ever try this location again. read more

A few days ago, we travelled from SLC to Vegas for the first time with two little kids. What is supposed to be a 5.5-6 hr trip turned into almost an 8 hour trip. One hour of that was spent at a random Arby's off the freeway and we spent $30 and our kids barely touched the food we bought them. On our way back home today we were about to stop at Jack in the Box down the street and we saw Golden Corral and it dawned on us. We could spend another hour and $30 at a fast food place and hope our kids eat, or spend essentially the same amount and get a wide variety of food (and healthier food) for both us and the kids, and spend our time in a much nicer place. As kids 3 and under are free Obviously we opted for Golden Corral and it was the best decision I've ever made in a car trip. The kids and us were able to eat fruits, vegetables, protein, and even get some treats. And we were all able to stretch our legs. This particular location was clean had an average variety of food, was not very busy, the employees were all friendly. If I had to complain at all it would be that the chocolate ice cream was not working, it would be that the food labels are often not correct I officially deem Golden Corral as a travel hack for now and forever if you have kids 3 and under (and maybe even with older kids). I may be being a little harsh. I have never been to a buffet. Some positives were it was clean and the food was full. On the not so great the quality was definitely low. Nothing was hot just warm. I'm assuming that's the price you pay with it all being ready and available. I also feel the price you pay is high. Then again if you can eat a lot it may be worth it for you. It wasn't horrible but not somewhere I'll be going back to. read more

Just an update. We hit GC on Sunday, review was written on Monday. Symptoms of food poisoning had set in on Monday and this is day 4 of diarrhea. Hopefully things will continue to get better and this possible case of salmonella will disappear. read more

well what can I say staff eating in front of guest waitresses carrying dirty silverware without a buss tray cold food that should be hot cutting onions with a blunt knife. no Temps being taken on hot food sliced meat which was dried out .putting fresh salad items on top off items already there soups were Luke warm . sadly the manager goes home at 5pm so he won't see most of the food infractions . its no wonder they get poor reviews dine at your own risk. If I could give it 0 stars I would. When eating my food with my family, I found a bug in my food. When taken to management they bushed it off like it's no big deal. When I posted a review to a fb page they had the manager's daughter post and ask if the bugs came out of my hair. There was no "I'm sorry let me take care of that" or " let me check the food" absolutely nothing. From reading other comments I'm not the only one who's had problems with bugs and hair in their food. read more

We had a hungry bunch of about thirty teenage swimmers from Orem in town for a swim meet and stopped by Golden Corral at 8:30 tonight. The staff was terrific, got us all seated in our own private room and went out of their way to accommodate us. The restaurant was very clean and well maintained. The food was great and most importantly the teenagers were ecstatic with all the food choices. Thank you so very much for your excellent service. By far one of the most disgusting places I've ever eaten at. I had to pick up not one, not two, but three dirty plates from the 'clean plate stack' before finding a fourth that appeared not to have any food stuck on it. That should have made me walk out but I was hungry and tired from traveling. The only reason we came to this restaurant was that our hotel was next door. The food looked poor in quality and even poorly prepared. Everything looked unappetizing and somehow they even managed to mess up mac-n-cheese. How can you mess up mac-n-cheese? As the name suggests - it is literally macaroni and cheese. Our waitress delivered us one serving of drinks and then disappeared never to be seen again. Just before leaving I located her - she was serving herself food and eating while walking around and chatting with other servers and staff instead of taking care of the customer. This restaurant has basic good family style food for all ages. Lousy coffee but good waitresses. I experienced the worst visit ever today and all the customers around me felt the same way. They had a machine that looked and sounded like a automated grater and washer that was being operated behind the salad bar. It sounded like a dryer full of boulders you couldn't carry on a conversation with the noise level of this machine. It was not enjoyable. I couldn't eat or even hear the waitress talk to me. I have to express my option as a business owner you had unhappy customers today and I myself came home with a headache. One of the worst Golden Corral's I've ever been to. Start with all plates are covered with particulates. You have to dig to find a reasonably clean plate. If you dare eat you will find everything to be yesterday's fair, welcome to Chicken, Beef, fish, and Pork Jerky. This is a wannabe Golden Corral with half the normal faire. For 99% of the time, this place is great. Great staff, clean, and cooks who go above and beyond. Once in a while, there are failures, but not many. The very best servers are Paige and Amanda. We always ask if Paige is working when we go in so we can sit in her area. Amanda is new to us, but she was fabulous when we had her. The manager always comes by our table to see how it's going. The cooks are happy to jump right on it when you request something. (Shhhh, but don't tell that they cooked something fresh just for us!) Overall, it's great! This is the dirtiest Golden Corral I have ever visited. BUFFET LINE NEEDS HELP! WAITRESSES VERY GOOD. Serving dishes looked old as if they needed to be stirred or thrown away. Were they sitting there since lunch?? Many dishes were empty and we had to ask for them to refill while we waited. Why did we have to ask? Isn't it protocol to refresh your buffet?? Dessert bar was filthy! Other customer's melted ice cream cone was sitting next to the cakes--really?! Little kids kept running up and grabbing gummies from the dish with their bare hands! When we went to get more food, we returned to our table and it was emptied of our used plates, and if our drinks were running low, she took care of it! I convinced my friend to try the buffet style diner, she usually stays away from them. We went for the weekday senior special, $7.99 till 4 pm. We got into the place and had to pass through employees, having fun in the line. By the time we got to the register and talked to an employee about the special.the price had gone up to 16.99 . We told her no we want the senior special, and she informed us that it was 4:02 and we could no longer get the special. WHAT! We were in the building before 4 and I couldn't believe it. We were so excited to hear about the Golden Corral reopening in Cedar City. On my visit, I felt disappointed in the selections, the variety is minimal. The rolls were not hot as the ones in other places. The rolls in St. George are buttered on top, kept warm and buttered and the flavor is fresh tasting... not so much in Cedar City corral. The Mac and Cheese looked very dry or maybe it had yesterdays Mac and Cheese placed on top. It did not have as large a selection as other Corrals I have visited in other states. This Golden Corral is much smaller than the one in St. George, yet, the prices are the same! Another thing, the plates are not in an area where one can find them right away. Went to Golden Corral at 4:30 pm on Saturday and was shocked to say the least on the Buffet. No, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Every vegetable tray was empty. Salad bar was empty. No cups for Shrimp Cocktail sauce, no Shrimp Cocktail sauce anyway . This is nothing more than poor Management. The prep workers were in no hurry to re stock anything. I can say after having to make several return visits to get what I wanted, the food was hot and really good. Come on , we really needed this chain here .
