This location was slightly different than other Golden Corral we have visited in Dallas are in that you self-serve your drinks before you pay. We stopped here for breakfast and paid about $60 including drink for three people. Like most other locations, there was a salad station, dessert station, grill station, fried station, and breakfast station. Options are endless. Whilst there I sampled the salad station which was very clean witih crisp and fresh lettuce options. A list of calories on the protective glass realize was helpful with the dressings for someone working on diet control. Eggs were so-so, but I made myself a steak and eggs combination and the chicken fried steak was good. Not the homemade type of course, but we all agreed it was pretty good considering. My wife reported the pizza pretty good. She also waited out the steak preparation for a pretty close to temp mid-rare piece. Worked out for both of us since I like some fatty on the ends and she likes the middle. Server was fairly consistent in clearing our food and filling drinks. This location had to large to go cups as an option which I thought was great to take one for the road. Overall place had a good safe vibe between the patrons as well as the wait staff. Worth a stop in Conroe, TX. It's a little on the high-side if you don't put away the food like we can, but overall I don't mind recommending this place for a stop on the fly. read more

This place has gone downhill. The restrooms are always dirty. The men's restroom has pee on the floor. customers eating directly off their plates before they sit down absolutely disgusting. Before you eat, anything off the buffet, get clarification what you're eating and where it's coming from. For example, fried fish Customers are thinking they're eating catfish, but it's not it's a fish from a different country. i'm not going to tell you the type of fried fish you're eating. It's up to you to do your own research. Plastic drinking cups, always wet and cups are old and cloudy. Plates are not cleaned correctly. You will find food debris on plates and bowls. It's been brought to their attention many times by customers. Golden corral always make the same comment to their customers that it's their washing machine The heating cycle that dries the dishes does not function any more. It's been this way for years.. (cold water kills germs?) so who's responsible? It's been a long time since I've been to a classic American buffet and thought I would give this Golden Corral a try. For starters, the price was very agreeable since it's only about $11 per person, for lunch. That's hard to beat these days and a really great deal in this economy! The dining area was very busy here with customers, which means they're doing something right! Available tables was easy to find and the cleaning staff was perpetually making sure that tables were ready. The amount of food to choose from is amazing! There's a large bar dedicated to salads, for those wanting to fill up on healthy food. The rest of the restaurant has a massive assortment of southern-style, fried and delicious foods! Anything you can dream of at a diner is available here, including hamburgers or liver and onions. There's even DIY tacos and pulled pork. They also have a large choice of desserts and cakes. All of the food is rotated very regularly so you're never low on selections. Again, the staff works very hard to make sure that food is fresh and available! The cashier was very friendly tonight. The lady bussing the tables and getting drinks was very attentive. I would have preferred she had taken off her dirty gloves before getting me a new glass of soda. But not a huge deal. THE BIG DEAL was, before getting dessert I use the restroom. There is an employee using the urinal next to me. A shorter, older, thin Hispanic man. Once he's done, he does not go to the sink. He stands against the wall behind me. Sounded like he was messing with his keys for a few seconds. Then proceeds to exit the restroom, WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. In a raised voice I say "You're not going to wash your hands?! You work here!" I am ignored. After exiting the restroom I can see him through the kitchen door behind the dessert station preparing food! I immediately left because I was completely disgusted. There was a great selection of hot fresh food, the staff was nice enough, and the manager at this location was an active manager. I appreciate, no, I love, managers that you see actively managing. His presence was everywhere. checking food quality, checking guest experience, staying on top of the cleaning, impressive. That said, if you choose your selections carefully, you can get some tasty, albeit, simple food at Golden Corral and all at a low price. The real trick at this place is judicious selection. I saw plenty of food here that looked inedible. Choose the simple, soul-cooking entrées (the ones that are basic and hard to screw up) and you will probably be satisfied. I visited this Golden Corral back in August 2019. Was very disappointed. So disappointed I forgot to write my review. The food was very old and nothing was getting changed. The bacon was a dark grey and I barley ate anything. My fiancée left after a short time. Very sad as we drove an hour to come. Normally a go to for breakfast however I've been going to Ryan's for breakfast instead as well as dinner when I am in Conroe. I've managed restaurants and there no way I'd let it go this far. We came to this location two years ago and wasn't that impressed. We just ate breakfast today at the same location seems to be new management and it shows. Kirk the manager was making everyone omelettes and I can't eat fried food or eggs or redmeat and he went out of his way to grill me chicken. He didn't have to do that but he did to take care of a guest. Just love seeing customer service like that where people actually care. Met two good friends for lunch at 1 pm. Have not been to a golden corral in a long time. I was greeted by friendly staff. All the food I had was great. All food was hot and fresh. I am not a fan of Golden Corral however, I attended a family event here and I must say it's far better than other locations I've visited. The food was hot and fresh and available each and every time I walked my greedy self to the buffet line. The best experience about this location was Our server Rhonda. Ronda is such a beautiful spirit. She was so friendly and patient with our party of 20. She made sure finished plates were cleared immediately and our drinks stayed filled. Saturday morning - 8 am. Only 4 table tops busy. Took 10 min to get a cup of coffee. Stood at the omelette station for 5 min while employees just chit-chatted about 10 feet away. Never got what I wanted. Guess I won't be spending my hard-earned money here. Oh, manager visible but talking football and timeouts with a customer, then went back to office. Didn't see him doing any actual managing. Employees make excuses why they can't give you prompt service "I'm the only server here until 9 am". Ok it has been forever for me and Golden Corral. But after test driving a vehicle and noticing the Golden Corral sign decided to stop for dinner before heading home. Boy that was the best decision of the day. You understand a couple things about Golden Corral or any buffet you go to. The best time to go is when it is busy. The get the food out fresh and fast. You have a time and point when they stop making dishes as quick, and run the risk of some of the food not being fresh like a to order menu. EVERYONE understands this. You take the good with the bad. So EVA, you need to go when it is busy. Eva rated this a 1, but also another Golden Corral as 1 also. So of 13 reviews 2 of them are of Golden Corral and both are 1. So someting sketch about that. If you had such a bad experience you think you would stop going. Not Eva! But the selection is what you go for. You sample alot of stuff on your first and 2nd visit. You find what you like and that is dinner. Then you top off with a small salad and dessert. All the food I had was fresh, hot, and good. Per usual the dinner rolls are top notch. The honey butter spread melts in your mouth. It is funny when you see stuff you would never order on a menu, but at Golden you get a bit to test. Such as the Salsbury Steak. I hated that in elementary school, Salsbury steak days were the worst. But I tried it at Golden and not too bad. Everything I had was fresh except one dish of San Francisco Chicken. Rice was dry, cheese was rubbery, and chicken had sat out a bit. But the reason I tried it was because I never had it. So I guess alot of folks have never had it, and still have not had it. Salad bar is bigger than most places. Not the best, but bigger than most. But the dessert is where Golden Shines. They have a chocolate and White Chocolate fondue fountain for marshmallows and strawberries. How neat is that. I recommend you sit near the fondue station to watch the kids try to work it, then watch the parents try to step in as not to get too messy. Fun times, fun times. They have rice crispy treats, fudge, brownies, ice cream bar, couple cobblers, couple cakes, bread pudding, and a couple others. Tell you what, it is not cheap. But it is a good value, you do walk out full, and you get a unique experience as not too many buffets out in the US. So Eva, stop going to Golden Corral our banned. Soooo, the steak was really good the first time tonight and then they switched the cook. A manager started to cook and when we asked if we could get it cooked just a little bit more he said no that Is how they all are. So we of course did not eat it which kinda was the end to our night. The Brussel sprouts tasted like dirt and the zucchini wasn't that great either. Maybe it was a one off night but considering the manager was delivering the poor customer service...I don't know. I don't expect great things from Golden Corral. It is Golden Corral after all. The food either has no flavor or conversely is saturated with seasoning. I had not been to a Golden Corral in a while. It cost me $19 bucks to get in. Just me. Is that the going rate now days? Plenty of plates at Red Lobster for that price. The food feels fake and the broccoli was yellow. The open, loud environment combined with kids crying in background just seems to remind me of the suffering of humanity. It has me asking God why he is still mad at us. I have enjoyed eating here in the past so I went around 4 pm on Jan 24th for Fried Fish Night. What could go wrong? A lot! The fried fish was mushy like it had been thawed and refrozen. No firmness or texture. My favorite is the fried shrimp and I have enjoyed it here before. The coating on the fried shrimps was thick and rock hard. The shrimp themselves were like rubber could have bounced off the plate. Overcooked maybe? Most unsatisfactory. So, I tried the pasta alfredo. Can you make pasta alfredo without alfredo sauce? Someone tried. The pasta alfredo had some kind of reheated cheese on the top but little or no moisture/alfredo sauce on the pasta. The most disgusting Golden corral I've ever been to. The MOST UNFRIENDLY STAFF. I swear if someone would have smiled I would have fainted. The young black man carving meat tonight 12-2-17 @ 7pm was not nice at all, matter of fact he was rude not only to me, but to everyone of all races. If you ask for meat, he acted like it was such a bother.He purposely made sure everyone felt unwelcome at his meat station. I've never felt so uncomfortable. The meat was ice cold. We came as a large family and enjoyed the food to a degree. A HORRIBLE SMELL started to encase our table and we looked at each other in disbelief. One family member who was visibly pregnant and a second family member started to barf and ran out of the place throwing up. The entire table was forced to leave the table in the middle of our dinner. More of our party threw up outside..... A worker came out and we asked what was the smell? He said he wasn't sure but he smelled it also. My nephew went back inside after several groups left and talked with the manager. He said he thought some kid pooped his pants and that was what was causing the smell. I was hungry and really couldnt pinpoint what I wanted to eat on my drive back to Dallas.. So I tried this place where I could get a little bit of everything. They have a seasoned lemon rosemary sirloin which was suprisingly good. The fried chicken was fresh and delicious as well. Overall great value for 18 bucks (includes beverage premium Sunday dinner) The only opportunity here was the service... It took 10 minutes after I started eating for someone to check on me... but the food and value really overshadowed the late waitress. I loved it. After severing the military for 8 years. It was great to be out and being back home with family. Though after 8 years of being gone a lot has changed. So this thanksgiving it was just my dad and I. Heading back home from my grandpas house and still haven't had any food yet. We saw the glow from the Golden Corral sign outside, with the parking lot full. We thought hey let's stop in and get some food. The food was amazing, fresh, lots of good flavors and not dried out. Nothing was out for empty for long. The spread of food for this thanksgiving was plentiful. Home cooking at its finest. From the turkey to pumpkin pie. I must have had five plates of food. My favorite must have been the rolls and sweet potatoes!! It was so good and tasty. The staff even for working on thanksgiving and having a lot of customers were still very friendly and sweet. The restaurant was very clean and well lighted. The price of the amount of food you could get was perfect and for the quality. I couldn't have asked for a better thanksgiving meal.
