So, it's Friday evening and I want to get out but not really hungry. I ask my buddy where she wants to go and we both thought of Saltgrass (I've always loved their prime rib). We got a booth immediately at 7pm - shocker - but not surprised it was right next to the kitchen. On the bright side, our server appeared promptly and the drinks were on the way. I went for the Peachy Keen ($11.50), very good! I ordered a dinner salad, but when the server (Diana) asked if I wanted chicken on it, I agreed and for some reason it became a $19 salad. I was disappointed that it was 3 times the salad I wanted but it was very good. Fresh ingredients made it worth taking 3/4 of it home. I ordered the range rattlers ($16) as an app, even though I wasn't very hungry. They were hot and spicy and crunchy, with a nice piece of shrimp inside. so good! Two of the 4 went home, also. Diana was attentive, got everything right, brought my water with lemon right away, both of my peachys were delivered promptly and she kept our table clean. She even boxed up our meals and in the beginning remembered to ask if I was a rewards member, which no one does!! Two stars for that! Good service means a lot to me and I would recommend her to anyone. Actually, all the staff seemed to take their job seriously, they were all hustling. The managers were running as fast as the staff! Very mediocre. The quality keeps going down with this location in particular. While the attention from the staff was good. The attention to our food and the kitchen was not nearly as stellar. The chicken strips were bland and boring. My baked potato was tiny. The shrimp where ordinary. My wife had the small fillet with a baked sweet potato. That seemed to be more satisfactory for her. I was disappointed with the menu because several items that used to be. There are no longer available. I'm just no longer impressed and neither was my wife with the food. Honestly, there are a lot less expensive locations to go to to get a better meal easily. I don't think we're gonna be visiting Saltgrass for a long time particularly the mesquite location. read more

Waiter got app wrong. No biggie he was apologetic so I was okay with that. I ordered a 16 oz ribeye and was given a cold strip. I cut it to see the temp and it wasnt a medium rare either. When I complained the manager offered to take half off. It would have been nice to at least get the steak that I ordered or was charged for seeing as if its more for the 16 oz ribeye vs the 10 oz strip. We had a craving for steak, not the high-end, dress-up kind, just something solid and satisfying. We've been to this Saltgrass location before, and from what we remembered, it left a good impression. So we gave it another go. The decor is exactly what you'd expect from Saltgrass, western, rustic, country-themed. Nothing new, but it fits the brand. The service this time around was good overall, though not quite as sharp as our last visit. Everyone was friendly and polite, but there were a couple of hiccups with the order, items we asked for didn't show up until we mentioned it. Nothing major, and we didn't make a fuss, but it's worth noting. We got there just before dinner rush and were able to take advantage of their early dinner menu, which definitely added to the value. We ordered the Queso Fresco with Brisket, the Steak & Shrimp, and the Wagon Boss Center-Cut Top Sirloin. On the side, we had the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Caesar Salad, and of course, the complimentary bread and butter. The food? It hit the spot. Good flavor, cooked well, and honestly, for the price, especially with the early dinner deal, it was a great value. If you're after a straightforward American steak without all the upscale extras, Saltgrass continues to be, in my opinion, one of the better picks among the steakhouse chains. read more

None of the people care about anything you say and were acting shady regarding a phone lost INSIDE the restaurant. I was super nervous based on the reviews. I came with my work group for a team dinner. Chris our server was amazing! He was charming and hustled all dinner long. Th food was probably a 4 but Chris tipped the scale to 5 with his attention to us. I had the Urban Cowboy (New York and grilled shrimp). It was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. Unfortunately, this latest experience only confirmed why we stopped ordering in the first place. We placed a delivery through Uber Eats with an expected arrival time of 30 minutes. The driver ended up waiting at the restaurant for 45 minutes before finally receiving the order. When the food arrived, it was cold, dry, and clearly not fresh. For a brand that markets itself as a higher-end steakhouse, the quality is now on par with (or below) a budget chain. Disappointing service, even worse food. Excellent experience at Saltgrass. I was with a group of 13, and we were quickly seated at two tables that were next to each other. We love the appetizers here, and we ordered several to pass around our two tables. Range Rattlers are my favorite: huge jalapeños and shrimp, stuffed with jack cheese and served with homemade ranch dressing. We also ordered queso fresco, fried onions, and fried mushrooms. All were excellent! I often find fried onions to be greasy at other restaurants but these weren't greasy at all. They were crispy and flavorful. Most of my group ordered steaks, I ordered the grilled salmon. Everyone was happy with their steaks, and they were cooked exactly as ordered. My salmon was perfect, cooked just right. My sides, a baked potato and broccoli with cheese, were very good as well. We also shared some fried shrimp that was very tasty. Service was truly outstanding. Even though our group was large, all of our food was served at the same time. The timing was very good: appetizers were brought out all together and then just as we finished them our main courses were served. Our excellent server never let our glasses get less than half empty before he brought out refills. We all agreed that this was such a great experience that we should return soon. The rest were sodas...... bar drinks became before sodas took 25 minutes to show up for water and coke. The table behind us already had bread and sodas that sat down after us... ordered an appetizer never received plates to eat the appetizer.
