Sweet potato, with just a raw layer of brown sugar, oats and marshmallows- not finished of in oven as a dish like it is meant to be.

The service at this restaurant is seriously declining. Our server just disappeared halfway through our meal.. plates piling up and we needed drink refills. Many of buffet dishes were finished. Hard to find staff to help with replenishment. We asked specifically for sweet potato pie with marshmallows to be replenish.. found the cook has given us sweet potato with just a layer of brown sugar and marshmallows on- not finished in oven like it is meant to be. I had to talk to 4 people to explain this needs to be done.. as the first 3 could not understand or speak English. The lady that could speak English explained this in Spanish to a male staff member, he just rolled his eyes and took the dish away. As if he is doing us a favour. What is this? Restaurant upgraded but restrooms still really bad and old.

Unfortunately I will not be returning here again. The food is very low quality compared to the other locations. The equivalent of school lunch. The buffet seems to never be replenished and the temperature of the food is not fresh. There is no reason why the food is ice cold. The staff is nice but it's not enough for me to return. The options are not as plentiful as their other locations. I'm glad I only paid $6 for my child because otherwise the meal was not worth a dime. The positive is there were vegetable options. I had the fried shrimp, whiting, bbq chicken, okra stew, black eyed peas, sweet potato, broccoli salad, zucchini, fruit, pumpkin pie. My daughter had the fried chicken, butter rolls, macaroni & cheese, yellow rice and Red Velvet cake. The desserts were terrible and again ICE COLD. Why is pie being served at below 0 ? The dining room is also very sloppy and the presentation of the buffet needs serious work. How is the ice cream machine is out of service on a Sunday ? A holiday weekend ? How ? Do better. The stupid patriotic theme music playing has to go ! All day !!!!!!??????! It's clear they don't care about the customers. Never again.

Managment that was rude as fuck. Coulda took business to the back and not out on the floor infront of customers.

Came here with my brother and my girlfriend. Highly disappointed, not much of a selection at all. Got multiple of the same tray/ food in 2-3 places. Maybe 10-13 food items to choose from. Food is cold, servers dont come by much. Sat for 10 mins before server came and gave us our drinks. Management literally sat right next to our table and had a full out argument. Hacking up shit and being loud as fuck. Unprofessional as fuck. Only like 10 customers in here

I understand as if you aren't seated when they open, you can expect a 90-minute to two-hour wait. I was hoping to get the Chicken Pot Pie this time and thought my prior visit was just off. I was thrilled that most of the menu was available. They were just out of the banana pudding. So I got to try the pecan wings I read about with the white sauce. It was so good. Then I got the chicken pot pie and biscuits. The pot pie had old biscuits for the topping, but the creamy mixture with large chunks of chicken was delicious. My biscuits came with honey and were served warm. I left with a slice of the chocolate-caramel-coconut cake, a side salad without onions, and a fried boneless thigh. The salad was made correctly, and the dressing was included. The salad was full of veggies, and the cake was rich and moist. Service was friendly and as soon as I finished my iced tea, another appeared. My wings were brought out first and it was a while for the rest of the meal as the restaurant was full. But they didn't rush me at all. I actually liked the space between the dishes, as I might not have been able to eat it all otherwise. I couldn't finish both biscuits and was even provided a container for the honey. I am going to miss Beasley's, but I'm glad I got a positive experience to remember the restaurant.

As of this review they are the #2 most reviewed place in Raleigh only behind the Pit. When we went last week for a farewell dinner it took us 3 weeks to get in. We got turned away 2 other times. The place was always packed and busy yet cozy and calm with great service. Hopefully they relocate or put some of the items from the menu at Pooles. Fuquay could use a nice place like this and it would be way cheaper than Raleigh! Best of luck to the staff in the future as they all look for work.

We started with the pimento cheese balls, which were super cheesy and delicious. They also brought out biscuits and hush puppies, and those were perfect to start the meal. The fries were really good (even I enjoyed them!), and the mac and cheese was definitely the favorite. The adults ordered a double combo with pulled pork and brisket, and it was big enough to easily split between two people. My husband and I both got the Pit bacon cheeseburger, and it was so good and huge. I ended up taking half home for later. My husband also got mac and cheese and shared it with the kids, while I ordered the Brussels sprouts, which were amazing. The staff was really friendly, and everything came out nicely. Tupelo Honey -- A Different Experience This Time…read more We decided to revisit Tupelo Honey during our trip through North Carolina because we had such a great experience the first time we visited. Our first visit was for breakfast/brunch, and we really enjoyed it, so this time we decided to stop in for a late lunch. We originally came looking for chicken wings, but we were told they had recently changed the menu and no longer offered them. So, we decided to try some other things. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which were served over polenta with a reddish sauce drizzled around them. The tomatoes were fried nice and firm--they didn't fall apart and held their texture well. I enjoyed the appetizer. For our entrees, we tried several things: bourbon meatloaf, breakfast potatoes, fried chicken, fried okra, roasted Brussels sprouts, and grilled harvest chicken. The food portions were generous, and everything was well seasoned. However, this meal was more of a "just okay" experience for us. The bourbon meatloaf was okay, although you definitely have to be in the mood for meatloaf. The breakfast potatoes, fried okra, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese, green beans, and grilled harvest chicken were all decent but didn't really stand out. The fried chicken was very well seasoned--perhaps a little too well seasoned for my taste, as it leaned toward salty. Our drinks were good, and I still enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waitress was also friendly and attentive, which helped make the experience pleasant. Overall, this visit didn't quite live up to our first experience. My husband was especially disappointed. That said, I wouldn't completely rule Tupelo Honey out. Sometimes a restaurant has an off day, and I'd be willing to give it another try--especially since we enjoyed our first visit so much.

My boyfriend is a huge whiskey drinker and had been wanting to visit here for a while. He had heard that the best Old Fashioned were here (he said that it was not that great), and while they did have bougie cocktails, I settled for a margarita. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere and decor were great! I am a plant person, so I loved seeing all of the plants. I love the open concept and exposed ceiling. But the food......was displeasing and unappetizing. I ordered the lamp burger, and while I ordered it as well done, I did not know that it would be presented overcooked with a charred outside. If you know lamb, this caused the meat to be extremely dry. The burger itself was very bland and lacked much flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Fireman's Chicken and by the looks of it when it came out, someone should have called the fire department while it was cooking! It was so burnt it was black. The only flavor present was charred meat and it was the most dried out chicken we have ever had (unfortunately I tried it). The collard greens were bitter with little flavor and the black-eyed peas still had crunch to where they weren't cooked all the way. To say all this, to have a $100 bill was HIGHLY unappreciated as it was one of the worst meals we have had in a LONG time. I definitely could see why they were not busy. The food was cooked terrible. And I will note that it isn't that I am picky, the couple next to us barely ate their meal and looked just as dissatisfied as we were. We would NOT recommend!

I took a seat at the outdoor bar and started with some smoked wings. 5 whole wings, so really 10 wings at most places. Meat was juicy enough, maybe I was hoping for more of a dry rub though. I used the tangy BBQ sauce and sweet BBQ sauce on them, and they certainly enhanced the flavor. I usually like mustard based sauces, but theirs was little more peppery than I wanted Then, per the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the brisket melt sandwich, and it was the undisputed highlight of the meal Muenster cheese, thinly sliced white onion, pickle chips, and a good load of horseradish sauce. The brisket had an amazing flavor, and all the other toppings came together beautifully. But that Union bakery bun is just another level. It's like brioche, it was so soft, but somehow a little more substantial. For my side dish, I went with the sweet potatoes with goat cheese, pepitas, and agave. This was just ok. For me, the potatoes could have been cooked longer, a little more crispness would have really helped. I did think the goat cheese was a unique flavor with a milder ingredient like a sweet potato, but it did work with the other ingredients pretty well. Only one unisex bathroom and it's small, so be warned!

We stopped by on a Sunday morning and the place was buzzing--I'm guessing many diners were coming from church. Thankfully we made a reservation because every table seemed to fill up quickly. The Shoestring Okra Fries were a fun twist on a Southern classic--crispy, lightly seasoned with chili citrus seasoning, and even better dipped in the tangy lime mayo. We also shared the Artichoke Dip, which arrived bubbling hot, creamy, and perfect for spreading on the toasted bread. For brunch, we went with two very different dishes, and both were excellent. The Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor from the goat cheese and pickled onions, while the buttery biscuit with jam on the side was a nice Southern touch. The Fried Green Tomato & Bacon Benedict was the standout of the meal. Crispy fried green tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and rich hollandaise came together beautifully without feeling overly heavy. We couldn't leave without one more treat. The Strawberry Kiwi Margarita was bright, fruity, and balanced with just enough tequila and a zesty spiced citrus rim to keep it refreshing. To finish, we shared an Affogato, the perfect ending with creamy ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. If you're planning a Sunday brunch in Cary, make a reservation--you'll be glad you did. I'd say it was a tie for favorite drink between the Hurricane and the 1806. Both were well balanced and tasted great. The scorpion was a bit spicy for my liking and the espresso martini was good just wasn't as good as the hurricane/the 1806. For appetizers we ordered the Maine Lobster Doughnuts, Heirloom Tomato Pie (with Tennessee Buttermilk Cheddar & Sherry-Sherry Vinaigrette), and the Watermelon Vinaigrette (with Avocado, Goat Lady Dairy Chevre, & White Balsamic Vinaigrette). The Maine Lobster Doughnuts and Watermelon Vinaigrette were excellent. The watermelon was sliced, goat cheese wasn't too strong and had the perfect blend of flavors. The Maine Lobster Doughnuts were also perfectly cooked and were so good. The Heirloom Tomato Pie was okay, just had a really strong mustard after taste which wasn't my favorite. For my entree I ordered the 10 oz Hanger Steak (Creamed Greens, Oil-Cured Olive Butter, & Red Wine Shallot Jus) which was cooked perfectly was so good. Even the baguette and butter were excellent!! Just a heads-up: the pimento cheese is served cold. I was expecting it to be warm, but I probably should have asked. The heirloom tomato pie was good, not great. Think chicken pot pie, but filled with tomatoes and cheese. The flavors were pretty straightforward, but the crust was really good. The ricotta gnocchi was a hit. The gnocchi was very soft and pillowy, and it came in an almost pesto-like broth. I'm a huge pesto fan, so I really enjoyed the combination. The sweet corn with oyster mushrooms was also good, but there was a lot of sherry cream. The corn was practically swimming in it, and the mushrooms became so soft that they mostly tasted like the cream. Surprisingly, the sautéed broccolini may have been my favorite dish. It had a smoky grilled char while still keeping the firmness you want from broccolini. Simple, but really well done. We finished with the soft-serve sundae with braised blueberries, coconut graham crumble, and coconut cream. The blueberries were a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but the soft serve was delicious, the crumble added a nice texture, and the coconut cream was a subtle touch. Overall, it was a very good meal. Not every dish was a standout, but the gnocchi, broccolini, and sundae were the clear highlights.
