Delicious coffee in a little old town area. The coffee shop is huge with lots of sitting area, plenty of people working on their laptops. Coffee is so good. Smooth, flavorful and well balanced. Kombucha is bright and also full of flavor. I enjoyed the everything seasoning cream cheese jalapeno croissant and wish I could have more haha. Definitely worth visiting! read more

I think I have a new top-3 favorite coffee shop. Drinks: Charlie Brown Latte & Honey Oat Latte Both drinks were very good, not overly piping hot, and had the exact flavors profiled that were listed in the ingredients. Don't overlook the Charlie Brown because of the rosemary in it, the flavor of the rosemary actually adds to the overall flavor profile making it a unique tasting latte that will be hard to match. The Honey Oat Latte was super solid as well, the flavors of honey, oat, and the coffee were all present. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience, and I am happy to see Old Placentina getting revitalized and having cool spots like Golden State there. read more

The service is good and the coffee was okay. I basically had a cafe con leche - they use another name in their menu and I forgot it. This place is huge! Lots of tables and open space. However every available table either had coffee spills or food crumbs on them. I had to go to the counter and ask if I could use a cleaning cloth/wipe. The worst thing is they were not even busy. My experience was definitely not the best, wanted to give them a try and I did. Due to sanitary reasons and sub par coffee, I don't think I will return. read more

Pros: Loved the decor and that fact that we could sit inside or outside! The coffee was amazing! My husband got a chorizo and egg sandwich and loved it. Cons: I wish they had more food options! When I asked to get their toast with "seasonal" jam and cream cheese a it's on their menu, I was informed they had to "seasonal jam" so I said okay, let me have whatever jam you do have. I was then informed that they don't have any. Then I asked if I could sub bread and they stated they ONLY have sourdough. I ended up just having my coffee and calling it a visit! read more

Confession.... I literally googled nearest coffee shop because I needed to use the restroom and I found this gem! I happened to find parking right in the front...got to use the restroom and I was ready to order my coffee. I didn't explore the menu just stayed with my usual oat milk latte. It was on the pricier side but hey inflation.... I received my drink after few minutes...and I thought I ordered a larger cup but maybe I didn't so I asked the barista if I ordered a larger size and she didn't even check and said I will make it for you. I told her, it's completely fine if I didn't but she insisted that she remake it. She did...I felt so appreciative that I tipped her extra $2....and I would do it again without any hesitation! Coffee is great, love the open ambiance and great customer service! It's tucked away and I can see parking can be a little challenging but it's a hidden gem! Definitely check it out! read more

Omg what an awesome find! Had to work somewhere else as they were paving my street for the day. Looked up coffee shops with wifi and found this gem!!! So beautiful inside, it was huge!!! There were so many options for drinks and breakfast foods including vegan options. There were so many areas for seating. I was able to find a table with an outlet and work the entire day. It got crowded around 11am but the noise level was still pretty quiet. They played great music. And I was able to do my meetings on zoom without any issues. I'm going to make it a point to work out of my home office at least once a week here! read more

Golden state, you I gotta rate So nice here, I take my wife here on a date Breakfast sandwiches are amazing I come here to work, chill, or be lazy But you got it all, space, drink, food, and vibe I'd bring all my friend, family, and tribe So this is one of my favorite cafés. This place is spacious, coffee is solid, their breakfast sandwiches (chorizo and pastrami) are both out of this world good, and they even have liquid death for those who want sparkling water or tea. Again, one of my favorite cafes here in the OC. read more

Great place to study if you're in the OC! Came here twice so far to get some work done, and it's nice that there are plenty of tables and outlets available. Staff here are very friendly, coffee is good, tried the cranberry rosemary pastry and that is also very delicious. Theres minimal parking in the back, but I lucked out and snagged a spot both times. Seats can get a little uncomfortable after a while, but aren't too bad. read more

This place is amazing. There is so much space and so many areas to relax and sip on some quality tasting coffee. The coffee is located in Old Town Placentia and has a great atmosphere. There is a ton of seating for everyone and the employees place a sign that tells you when a table is sanitized. When you first walk in, they have some merch available for purchase along with a fridge with some other items for sale. They have a great amount of pastries available and also offer gluten free items. They have lots of items on their menu to try out. I ordered the Matcha Latte with Oat Milk and it was delicious. I added Agave Honey to give it a great taste. They offer sugar-free Vanilla which is a plus for all my fellow diabetics. They offer free Wi-Fi so I will definitely be back on a day I am working remote, to enjoy the atmosphere and another selection off their menu. See you soon, GSCR!!! read more

The caffe is in a cute part of Placentia that I grew up going to. The music was light and lovely. Whoever was on aux deserves a raise. Loved the jazzy old school song they played. Excellent coffee but with a bit of a price tag. I tried their seasonal hazelnut latte today and it tasted like a dream. I've tried their regular lattes before and I have to confess that I like their seasonal drinks better. The place haze a cool vibe and plenty of space inside. Looks like a great place to study or work. Staff can give you a wifi code per device that is good for 8 hours. Their breakfast sandwiches are quite delicious BUT their baked goods are just okay. If you're going to splurge on food, I would go with the savory items. read more

Upon entering the place I can see it is very large and spread out, major plus! I went really early so not much people where there, but as the day extended more and more folks arrived. It is great to see that the employees know some of the customers. That's a positive sign, as there's always returning customers. I ordered a fresa coffee and it's really strong but solid flavor. The place is really clean and kept that way. Staff keep walking around making sure all tables are sanitize and ready for the next customer to enjoy their stay. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs to come by and work on homework or work stuff. The music is nice and subtle. I most definitely will be returning when I am in the area again. Truly enjoy the environment. read more

1/28/22 Had this coffee roaster bookmarked coz I believe it's the coffee served by my favorite restaurant in Long Beach, Starling Diner. It's a pleasant surprise at how large the store is. Considering it houses an industrial size roaster in a separate room designed mainly for roasting bags & bags of coffee beans, it can easily accommodate 75 people-enough for a wedding reception (lol). Staff are welcoming & warm, attentive. Hubby ordered his usual hot oat milk latte whileI opted for a hot chai latte with almond milk. I kept snapping photos for Yelp as I walked around the property (trying not to bother or annoy other patrons by putting them in my shots) & I was just amazed by sheer size of the store. There was definitely plenty of stools, chairs, sofas & tables to house patrons, students & study groups. This store offers sandwiches & other pastries as well. We received our drinks in a timely manner & I was impressed by the cup design & for ergonomic purposes, the lid gives the drinker/sipper better access to their hot beverage. My chai latte has that perfect spice taste, as one should expect from a "spice" perspective. I tasted hubby's latte & my eyes quickly perked up in delight, it was delicious! I looked at him & he smiled in agreement. Although the chai latte was a welcome surprise, I still prefer the one I have tried at Stirred in Cerritos. I really should give this a 5 star rating other than the fact that it's not as cozy (because it has a huge, open space!) as Stirred and it's too far from home (out of the way from things i frequent). I will definitely return to try other things & appreciate the vast amount of space to utilize for hanging out or meeting up with large groups of people. This cafe/roaster is a wonderful find & discovery. read more

I've been here multiple times when I lived here. I'd have to say this is probably the best coffee place in OC. The interior is vibrant, spacious and with plenty of seating. I'm no coffee junkie but having been to many coffee shops this is the best there is. I typically order mochas here and they are delicious! I chose to come here on a Saturday afternoon. I really enjoyed the aesthetic of the place. The big windows, the brown brick, and the openness. Multiple things can get done here and people really mind their business so it's comforting. The environment was so nice. Even though there was a lot of people there to study, there was enough space for everybody and did not feel crowded or busy. We got cortaditos and a sausage breakfast sandwich while we studied and it helped so much. The drink was perfectly sweet and creamy with just enough espresso to not feel super jittery. Great quality espresso too. The sandwich was really good too. No complaints at all. Will definitely come back and make this place my main study shop. read more

Service is great! They're very nice here and a great way to start my morning. I got their bacon breakfast sandwich and maple matcha with almond milk. The sandwich came out first. It super hot and cheesy, this is pretty tasty. The maple matcha is on the sweeter side, not super strong matcha though. The foam tasted really yummy but overall the drink felt more dessert-y than the boost I was looking for. They had this seasonal Earl Grey slush, this was super delish! We got it a couple of times. Hopefully they bring it back. I like that they have plenty of assorted seating, couches if you're looking to get comfy and do some reading or catching up. Lots of big tables for studying/working as well. Super big space which is great. Parking can be a bit of a pain. There's a parking lot behind the store but other than that, it's going to be street parking. read more

Came here for a book club and was surprised as to how big the inside was. I got a matcha latte and was a bit disappointed that I didn't add any syrup. It was too plain for me but not too bad! Definitely want to come back to try their other drinks. read more

The food was good, the chilaquiles verdes needed a tiny bit of spice tho, there pickled onions were good that I asked for an extra side to give it a little more tang since it needed something. I'd come here again and try more things on the menu. Everyone seems super helpful and good helping staff. I give it a solid 4.5. The vibe is super chill and comfy. Gave me time to read my bible while I was eating.

The server was very kind and helpful, he was communicative and attentive. And the food! The food was great! It tasted good, AND seemed healthy and nutritious. Also, I appreciated their variety of options. I have a dairy allergy, and am often quite limited in what I can comfortably/safely eat, especially going out for breakfast. But here, they had multiple alternative dairy options! I even was able to get an oat milk latte! I will definitely be back. Love this place and am so glad they opened up this location.

In both cases they were unable to prepare the food well. Last week I had eggs Benedict and the egg yolks were solid and The English muffin was not really toasted and was cold. I sent the Benedict back but Asked to keep the rest of the food because I was hungry. The girl ignored my Request, Took my entire plate and did not return with the other food on it. I literally waited 10 minutes for them to redo the eggs while my partner finished his breakfast and I had nothing to eat. The Hollandaise sauce was Very Good, but ham on the Benedict was incredibly thin. I've had many eggs Benedict and this was unusual to offer A slice of ham comparable to a thin deli slice. My partner's omelette Was quite Brown but had good veggies in it. His hashbrowns were barely cooked. Today We both ordered a veggie omelette with chicken in my partner's. I made it very clear that my veggie omelette should not be Brown (= overcooked) . The girl read Back our order and she wrote My request very clearly. What arrived at our table was quite a shock! My omelette was definitely Brown and my partner's omelette was dark Brown. My brown omelette had chicken (his order) and his omelette was actually my order and dark brown! I've never seen an omelette served that was that overcooked! How could they possibly ignore the instructions and mixed them up? Add to this that his toast was burnt. Really? You can't prepare Toast properly? When I brought it to their attention one of the girls she said I could see how you might think that as I showed her the burnt toast. She said we have already put everything away in the kitchen and so I don't know that we can do anything about it. We said it would be fine if it's an English muffin but, something that's not burnt. She disappeared into the kitchen for quite a while. Eventually when she resurfaced she brought the unevenly toasted bread, (But not burnt) and proceeded to tell us the following: " If you would get here earlier (We arrived 40 min before closing) we could serve you better" ( I later realized Those must be words from the owner). So if I arrive earlier my food wont be overcooked?Or if I arrive earlier they Have time to correct their mistakes? I knew the kitchen closes at 1:40. Waiting at the counter To ask about soup, I stood for 5 + minutes watching 5 employees move about. Finally I was able to ask and waited another minute or so while she went to go to the Back to ask. Now in line to order the man before me was trying to order (before 1:40) a vegan omelette. The girl said it was too late. He explained he had driven all the way from Riverside and it was still within the timeframe to order. She went back into the kitchen and a woman came out. (the owner? ) . The woman proceeded to chastise the young man for coming in late and trying to order a vegan omelette. She told him he'd done this before and he should get here earlier. He explained that he had not actually ordered but had tried. She said several times that she would make an exception this time but it can't happen again. And she continued to chastise him. Who treats their customers like this? .I literally watched the minutes tick by, wondering if I'd make it before the cutoff. More people entered. . Ah oh, do they know about the cutoff in 1 minute?? The girl behind the counter announced that no more orders would be taken after 1:45. Aw, they were being generous by allowing five more minutes to order. But there's no way these people could get their order in within the next five minutes. Will they say, too late, After they've been waiting in Line? Why not say instead, our kitchen is closing but we will be happy to take your orders. And why not hang a sign on the door that says the kitchen is closed at 1:40 But still accommodate diners's needs? The omelette tasted good but the experience was so negative, Such unkindness, Completely lacking in hospitality.

When we were ordering the server asked if we wanted a couple of waters, we didn't get them until after we got our food. The chilaquiles were good. I love my food spicy and the flavor hit! The rice was pretty good. I wasn't a big fan of the beans, they weren't bad, but they weren't good. The watermelon margarita was okay, the flavor was nice but it didn't seem like there was much tequila. The french toast was good also. She really liked it, same with the potatoes! The latte she didn't really like, she said it just tasted plain.
