This restaurant was absolutely fantastic and you would not believe it was in a hotel! Located downtown in the Four Seasons Hotel, this is an Ethan Stowell restaurant you must dine at. The staff are friendly and the service was perfect! The pig and fig was a delicious start along with the butternut squash with crab cake soup. They were both very flavorful and fresh. For the mains, the lamb was seasoned and cooked to perfection while the gnocchi was spot on with the flavor. As far as dessert, the pumpkin cheesecake was rich and flavorful while the tiramisu was the best I've ate. For the drinks, they were perfectly crafted and there is a wide range to choose from. I didn't have a drink that was bad and the options available did not seem any were a bad choice. Definitely will be back again soon to dine as there are many items I still would like to try. Mostly great experiences dining at Goldfinch. The vegan menu selection is quite limited, but the dishes available are absolutely mind-blowing. The simple heirloom tomato salad bursts with flavor and freshness. The hand-made pasta with pesto (with pine nuts instead of cheese) is just unbelievable and comes in a generous portion enough for two. With the fireplace, sunset views and mid-century modern furniture, the restaurant has a warm and relaxing feel akin to a Mad Men set. Came here for brunch and had to make reservations in advanced. They have bottomless mimosa brunch for $75, which also included a choice of an appetizer, entree, and dessert. You can also order items a la carte, if you don't want to do bottomless brunch. We opted to pass on the bottomless mimosas this time and just ordered entrees. I ordered the avocado toast, which came with poached eggs and cheesy potatoes. I enjoyed my meal a lot and would order it again. My husband ordered their grain bowl, which came with: farro, quinoa, peas and tomatoes. This dish was also good. They also make their own ice cream. My wife and I went for a late breakfast. The service was excellent. I ordered a crab Benedict which was $39. I figured we're already paying a premium just to eat there, and I might as well spend a little more and get something I wouldn't normally have for breakfast. I had a similar dish years ago at Etta's (sadly no longer in business), and it was one of the best things I've ever had. The dish came with hash browns (one of my favorite breakfast foods), a muffin, and tea. My wife ordered a different breakfast which also came with a muffin, so we got a blueberry muffin and a "morning glory" muffin. We also got "healthful" juices and teas. The hashbrowns were very contemporary: a perfect rectangle that was heavily crisped on the top and bottom and mushy in the middle. It looked very nice, but it was difficult to eat (the bottom crust was hard to cut through, and it was difficult to get a proper pile onto a fork), and I would have preferred a messy pile of hash browns with better flavor and texture and easier to get from the plate into my mouth. The blueberry muffin was a little too dense and undercooked, but it was pretty good. The other muffin was dry (either overcooked or just a bad recipe). We only ended up eating about 1/4 of each. The poached eggs were considerably overcooked.... to the point where I asked that they be made properly. The server apologized and said he should have asked me how I wanted them cooked. In my opinion, there's only one correct way to poach eggs, and if you want the yolks cooked through (or more like ramen eggs), you should ask for them that way. That should not be the default way they are served. Parts of the yolks were to the point of being chalky. The Hollandaise sauce was good, but they didn't serve enough of it in my opinion. It was whipped and unlike traditional Hollandaise sauce (that is, made the traditional way), but it was fine (just needed more of it). The crab meat was not picked through properly, so there were a couple of large pieces of cartillage left in it and one small piece of shell. It was also a little over-seasoned (and I like things more salty than most). I really wanted to like this place, and I don't mind spending extra for a really nice meal once in a while, but the prices can't just be about the hotel. They need to prepare food that is in line with the service and décor. read more

When he did, he never greeted us, never engaged, just took drink orders. It took a long time before he came back and would disappear for long periods. The food was good and I think everyone enjoyed it, but my salmon was cold and very rare. I had requested medium. At the end I finally had to get up and ask for the check. I'm embarrassed I chose the Goldfinch for the group. It is some of the worst awkward, slow, impersonal service I've ever had. My colleagues enjoyed their meals as well, they said the crab cakes were delicious! We got a table with great views of the water and the Seattle Wheel. We started with Lady Lavender, Just Peachy, and Semolina Baguette. We loved our drinks, the Lady Lavender had just the right amount of Lavender in it. The Semolina Baguette was great along with our drinks while waiting for our food. We then got Cedar Plank King Salmon, Tonnarelli, and Goldfinch Lobster Mashers. I loved Tonnarelli, so much crab, the gremolata fresh, loved them with the pasta. The Halibut and King Salmon entree were excellent. The NY Strip was tough and extremely average. Cocktails from the bar were extremely slow. The server seemed distracted most of the evening which seemed odd for a restaurant at a 4 Seasons. I was excited to eat at Four Seasons. I am hooked on anything the Ritz-Carlton cooks and figured they would be the same. The ambiance is great, views are incredible, and my waitress was nice (maybe too nice? I ordered the Chilean sea bass and this is the first time I've ever ordered that dish and can say it was flavorless. How does that happen? I knew I should have ordered the scallops, but I was trying to be good and the scallops were served with bacon fries! Argh! I should have stuck with the fat, dangit! Where was I? Oh yeah, the butternut squash was cut so thin there was no flavor. Or it could have been all the oil on my plate, because that's the only thing I could taste. The gnocchi was neither here or there. I will say, however, the fish was cooked to perfection. Any flavor would have made that dish a 10! I also asked if the bartender could make a Paloma. It was made with grapefruit juice, not soda, and very little lime. I mean. I didn't want bacon fries, but soda would have been nice. This could be the first time I didn't finish a Paloma. My bill came out to $106 with tax and gratuity was already included. If anybody is paying that much for a meal, it should be one of the best places they've eaten so they can return, not make them regret patronizing your establishment. Wow, wow, wowwww! I've been to a few Ethan Stowell restaurants and have pleasantly enjoyed many of them. How to Cook a wolf was my favorite, but i say was because I now thing Goldfinch Tavern is! The price is kind of high, but to be expected since it's at the Four Seasons. We ordered a dozen oysters, salad, rigatoni, lobster mashed potatoes, and the tiramisu. The rigatoni blew my mind. The server said they joke that they could eat that everyday, and honestly I think I could. I usually don't even like red sauces or rigatoni, but the flavor on that pasta was out of this world. I've never had pasta that tasted like that before, and I would definitely come back just to get that. The lobster mashed potatoes too were AMAZING. First of all, they put four large pieces of lobster on them, and second of all the taste was so good. The potatoes are so smooth, creamy, and buttery. The salad was just okay, but it was just a house salad, so I don't think it was made to stand by itself, more of a supplemental item. The tiramisu was also very good. I think it definitely stood out on it's own as a notable dessert... and it looked so nice! We also ordered a couple cocktails, glasses of wine, and cappuccinos. The lavender vodka cocktail was my personal favorite. I could drink those all day! It's Kettle One, I believe and some lavender mixture. Service at this restaurant was very good. The server came up and addressed me by name which was a nice touch. He was very helpful when it came to us making decisions on what to order and was super attentive throughout the process. There is an automatic 20% service charge, so it makes sense that they would have to be as professional as expected. Also to be expected since it's at the Four Seasons. One thing to note, the restaurant will take care of valet parking with your bill, but I think it's a flat rate of $17 or $18. Just an FYI. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice place to eat with amazing flavor. The place is a little bit on the pricier side (we spent $300 for 2 people including 4 drinks), but if you aren't too worried about the price, I'd definitely recommend it! Hostess was nice enough but had us waiting while she took takeout orders on the phone, nice table, delightful server, ordered focaccia bread that was a week old, so old they had to toast it (and as toast goes... Burnt) What happened to that delightful loaf of fresh bread we used to get? A beet and crab salad ($27) that is now half the size of what it was in May, followed by crabcakes and no utensils. Waited for 20+ minutes for a fork .....after I got frustrated waiting.... counted 17 staff members that walked by my table, none of which would pay any attention to the fact that I needed a fork. Four Seasons used to stand for quality not sure that's the case anymore. This used to be a brilliant restaurant, today it feels like a Denny's. A mandatory service charge of 20%... For what? Amazing! One of my favorite date spots ambiance and decor are on point, food is delicious, and service is top notch. It's located in the Four Seasons so you know from the jump that you're in for a great experience. The first time I went was back in 2019 and I immediately knew I wanted to go again. Well they don't serve their 'tavern' menue in the middle of the afternoon on a Saturday. Only small plates. You can order off the room service menu though. Not what I wanted. We ordered beer which is really only a half of a beer. I ordered the Hamachi which looked pretty; lacked any flavor at all and I mean none except the sprouts on top. The fries we ordered were good, hot and crisp with a nice dill aoli. If you want to try this place don't go in the afternoon. We won't be back to try the burger I really wanted. My memory deceived me and I got lured back here with their promise of bottomless mimosas and I forgot how bad this place was. CONS: The price: They raised their price for the brunch special from $65 to $80 a person. The service was subpar. The drink: they use Treveri Blanc de Blnco for the bottomless mimosas. It cost $10-$15 a bottle so it's a pretty cheap brut. It gave me a headache at the end of the day after just drinking two. The service: Our waitress took too long to serve us and she was in a bad mood. There's a 20% service charge for just 3 people! With the meh service I received, they should not have gotten that much. The food: I got the crab cake and even the waitress warned me and said it was small. The appetizer I ordered was larger than my main course. I tried my friend's burger, and the meat was not seasoned at all and was overcooked. One out of the three mini desserts was good at least. The view is OK and I love the four seasons which is why I thought this place would be great too, but I do not recommend their brunch special at all as it is not worth the price for what you get. read more

Masterful culinary prowess. I invited 7 guests to dinner at Goldfinch's last weekend. Our experience was 5 Stars across the board. From our server's care and attentiveness to the delicious cuisine, Goldfinch Tavern just knocks it out of the park. Each expertly crafted plate presented to our table was absolutely delicious and simply could not have been better. I'm a big fan of very high quality lamb that is well prepared, so I ordered their heirloom tomato crusted lamb chops with basil goat cheese whipped potato and ratatouille. We chose this place to celebrate the 2022 holiday season, and I am so glad I finally got to visit Goldfinch after hearing about it for quite some time. From the cocktails menu (with both the creative names, e.g. the Last Purr, and the flavor profile quite on point) to appetizers to main course - it was a delicious experience throughout! I especially enjoyed my burrata and the honey-poached pear appetizer - the gentle flavors and the addition of a honeycomb piece brought back lots of fun childhood memories. And I enjoyed every bite of the rigatoni with rabbit confit and chanterelles (especially the latter). The setting is elegant and is overlooking the pier and the Great Wheel. The brunch deal comes with a three course meal! For the appetizer I recommend the oysters or the chowder. The seafood tastes really fresh and they provide hot sauce for the oysters if you ask. Despite being part of one of Seattle's best hotels, the restaurant is below par. The Huckleberry Waffle is listed as coming with caramelized figs but did not -- and no one let me know that it had been replaced with berries. The flavors were hard to find and both the bacon and waffles were served room temperature. There are SO MANY amazing restaurants in Seattle, don't waste your time with this one. read more
