Pork belly was dry but still very tasty and presentation was 100. The bar served up a variety of signature cocktails with precision craftsmanship. Waiter and assistant staff were not very busy yet so we had the pleasure of chatting a bit with them, all very friendly and appreciative of your patronage. I'll start this off with how exceptional the service was and always has been here. I really appreciate their friendliness and attentive demeanor. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed with the flavor of every dish and left feeling quite disappointed. We've dined here many, many times over the years as this is a Four Seasons classic spot in Seattle. It's really gone downhill with creativity and most importantly the flavor. This isn't your average place and you're definitely not paying average prices. We started with the beet and crab salad with the bruschetta. Beets were wonderful and a generous portion of crab topped over the beets, but it was so very bland, it needed some spices or sauce to marry the two. The bruschetta was good and was honestly the best flavored dish of our whole evening. Our main we shared the grilled trout, the duck rigatoni and Brussel sprouts. The grilled trouts presentation alone was kind of sad and it was extremely fishy. Some bites were ok and some bites were actually gross. It also lacked any flavor, I found myself reaching for salt. I was excited for the duck rigatoni because the reviews raved about it, but it was a complete let down. You imagine a rich sauce with depth and this was flat out bland and lacked any luster. I was quite surprised by this! The brussel sprouts consisted of mostly crumbs which were tasty, but where was the actual brussel sprouts. I honestly can't explain how all of these dishes were consistently bland and flavorless. Since we were still hungry, we decided to add the tiramisu. Uhmm, it was a dry cake. They decided to make a spin of tiramisu and it was a complete bust! When you order tiramisu, you're expecting that rich espresso soaked cake that's creamy and melts in your mouth- this was not it! Super disappointed :( Sadly, I doubt we will return. We've even had a bad experience with their brunch since covid. It's overpriced and it's the tiniest portions. That's not what their brunch is known for! I think they need a revamping of quality and menu items for what they charge. I don't personally love onion but there was no visible onions and the flavor was crazy good. The pork belly and egg was cooked to perfection. We asked for salt and pepper for the table but this food was perfectly seasoned. We didn't need any seasoning. It was all so good we made another reservation before we left lol. I can not believe I have yet to do a review for this restaurant! we have dined here for dinner and also lunch, but my first time for brunch was today. Oh my goodness, a plethora of goodies at the appetizer brunch area. You pay the $50 and you get unlimited mimosas, appetizer bar (which has crab shooters, oysters, prawns, seafood chowder, dessert bar, fresh fruit, local artisan cheeses, and more), and you get entree on top of this. The entree choices were crab cake, pancakes, steak, eggs Benedict, salad, burger, and omelette. Also, the mimosas offer flavors of cranberry, orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. For my 3 courses, I chose: chia pudding, lemon pancakes, and the dessert trio. My friend chose the chowder, lobster eggs benedict, and dessert trio. Vegan Chia Seed Pudding: A little overboard with the sunflower seeds topping, but overall very good chia seed pudding. It's made with coconut milk and was paired with strawberries, blackberries, pears, and apples on top. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: Berry-licious! The compote was incredible. You didn't even need to use the syrup. Crab Chowder: Just enough Dungeness crab in each bite. Also the bacon and clams were nicely added. Also comes with crackers. Lobster Eggs Benedict: Just 1 benedict? Really? Had to dock a star for this because anytime I've ordered eggs benedicts, I've always received 2 with my order. My friend liked the potatoes that came with it, but still wasn't impressed she had to pay extra for just 1. Dessert Trio: The best for last of course! I enjoyed each dessert. They were beautifully presented and so creative with their infusions of flavors. Cannoli glass-deconstructed cannoli inside a round glass. It's ricotta panna cotta, citrus chantilly whipped cream, pistachios, cookie pieces, and chocolate shavings. Blueberry Mascarpone Tart-The fave of the trio! Blueberry mousse, vanilla cream, and cookie crumbles. Chocolate Passionfruit Cake-Dark chocolate cake, chocolate ganache and passionfruit gel. An absolutely amazing dining experience on our first night at the Four Seasons in Seattle. The restaurant is dark and elegant, the staff is very friendly and accommodating, and the food is absolutely delicious. When my wife and I go out to eat, we tend to order the entire menu lol, so we got a variety of things. For starters, we got the baguette and the charred Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were sooooo good! They had a sweet, almost hoisen-like sauce on them and paired with the char made them excellent. The baguette was just a standard loaf of bread. For the main course my wife got the Market special seafood plate and I got their signature steak. She liked her seafood, and my steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We also ordered some fries to go with it, that had a great dill dipping sauce. Finally for dessert we got the bourbon chocolate pecan pie. Even if you're not a pecan lover, this was still a great dessert. The pecans were pulverized in the crust and the whole thing was much more like a Crunch bar. I just love this place. Another Ethan Stowell winning gem in my book. The crab and beet salad is seriously the stuff of my dreams. Light, fresh, and jam packed with big chunks of crab meat. Almost everyone in my party (4) got one so we don't have to share. Just do it and you will not regret it. The duck ragu rigatoni is so so so good and can you believe the ricotta pieces they dollop? I want to cry thinking about this meal - all topped off with some sparkling rose. The ambiance and service is one of the best in the city and you can even conveniently valet park for 17 dollars at the four seasons if dining in. Menus are concise yet varied, with a focus on northwestern ingredients. My husband and I were staying at the hotel, so we ate here for breakfast one day, and dinner on another. On weekends, they do a pre-fixe brunch that includes a choice of appetizer, entree, bottomless mimosas, and a dessert trio; a great value for $59. Not overly hungry, we opted for a la carte dishes. The Veggie Hash was a bland, boring bowl of grains and watery tomatoes. We loved the Goat and Cow Labneh though. Dinner was much better. Our server (younger bald guy) was amazing; genuine, attentive, 3 Michelin Star level hospitality. I started with a cocktail called "Our Last Night In Antigua", a subtly sweet, expertly crafted drink. Do not hesitate to order a cocktail. They have a great wine list as well. Both the Organic Baby Romaine and Beet & Dungeness Crab Salad were delicious, made with fresh, flavorful local ingredients. My husband got the Alaskan Halibut, which he enjoyed very much. The Grilled Haricot Vert were too oily, and the Goldfinch Lobster Mashers over salted, but they were still decent side dishes. I visited with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and though we had a reservation, we had to reschedule at the last minute and the restaurant was very accommodating. There's good variety to the menu to suit many tastes and on this occasion, I started with the shrimp cocktail (fresh and tasty--solid appetizer portion to kick off the meal), had the smoked and peppered corned beef as my entree (hearty and rich-- perfect on a cold day and a good portion size), then dessert was a trio of small tastes (perfect for closing out with a little something sweet). Outside of brunch, I would've paid more than $80 for a 3-course meal with drinks, so this was well worth it for a nice day out on the town with a friend. Goldfinch Tavern is located in the Four Seasons Hotel in the heart of the city. I've been there for lunch, a late night snack, and happy hour (Sun through Thurs 4pm to 6pm). I had good food, wine, and service during each of those experiences. On weekends Goldfinch serves a buffet brunch in addition to their regular breakfast and then lunch menus. The buffet had an amazingly tempting spread (and bottomless mimosas included!!) but my friend and I were on a healthy eating kick so we opted for the main lunch menu. I had the Dungeness crab and beet salad and it was really good. I was in a coffee mood because it was still fairly early in the day. Best coffee ever. I don't know if it's the coffee, the heavy cream, or the combination but I was obsessed from the first sip. Could not get enough of that coffee. Who would have thought? Other delicious plates I've tried include the crudo, the cheese plate, soups, and additional salads. The adult beverage selection is also quite good. First time to Goldfinch and I'd reviewed the menu ahead of time so knew what I could order and prices and chose this restaurant for these factors as well as proximity to The Moore theater and because it is an Ethan Stowell establishment. Overall it was a win. I brought a bottle from my cellar and they treated it very well, though I did have a wee bit of cork in my glass to begin with so I'd like to see them use a filter. I was really looking forward to some seared foie gras and their black cherry base seemed like a delicious way to serve it, but I have to say that this dish was a disappointment. Not only did it come essentially room temperature, the foie gras itself had a kind of funk to it that I've not tasted before - not sure what it was, but it was not to my liking. The filet mignon lived up to being the most expensive plate on the menu. I eat (and make) filet very often and so my expectations are high and I was really impressed. What was less impressive was that the side of potatoes, while beautiful and delicious, was also room temperature. My companions had the rabbit pasta and another filet and were both very pleased. My friend immediately recommended the Applewood Smoked Manhattan. Wow was that a great recommendation. When she brings it out it has a class cap that is filled with smoke. As she raises it off of the drink the smoke rolls out of the glass with such an unbelievable smell. I just wish I could upload a video. Oh not to mention the incredible taste of the drink itself. We requested a window seat and was seated at one with a view of the big wheel, waterfront. Per birthday tradition, we all had appletini, unfortunately they don't have apple "liquor" so the bartender uses fresh apples. It was different but bravo to the bartender, it did taste fresh. We started out with seafood tower, it was good but we had better. For entrees/plates we had the Seabass, Duck, Burrata, sides: baguette, mashers, and fries. All was good and plenty, we went family style and share. We had desserts but the free birthday dessert was as good/better. Overall, good food/service/atmosphere; we'll be back for brunch. For entrees we had the signature Salmon dish and my guests all said...
