This place was GREAT. I am a super novice DIYer and I needed a drain pump for my washer. When I walked in the man (I am assuming was Mr. Gonzalez) immediately helped me. I had brought in the piece I needed replaced. He could have easily made an up sale by telling me I needed to replace the entire piece. Instead he told me I didn't need the entire piece, I just needed the motor. That saved me 50%. How many businesses do that? I thought that was awesome. I called Gonzales appliances to repair my washer. While the technician was very friendly and seemed competent, the company was much more interested in selling me a used appliance than repairing my washer. After I paid the $85 service fee, I was told by the technician that the office would call me with a quote for parts and repair. After waiting two weeks for this call, I followed up and was told that the part wasn't being made anymore but that they could sell me a used machine. I was able to find the part online for $115 through Sears, and made the very simple repair myself. The only reason I'm giving this company two stars is that the technician did help me determine the problem that needed to be fixed, but had I watched a few more YouTube videos before calling, I probably could have determined this myself. read more

They knew exactly what to do in a very timely manner. The work was completed in about an hour but the cost for their labor was extremely reasonable. I Would Not Recommend purchasing from them. I needed to replace my refrigerator. Checked Home Depot and Lowe's and found prices to be too expensive. Went to Gonzalez Appliance in Indio based on recommendations. Went looking for a nice used unit within my budget. Found a nice Whirlpool SBS stainless steel unit. They delivered the unit and after it was installed, the water line worked, but the ice maker did not. The water was nasty and gross tasting, and there was no bottom grate. After a day or two waiting to see if ice would be made, I called and spoke with Claudia. She sent out the repair guys and they determined that the unit needed a new ice maker. They ordered a new ice maker and came to install it and said that everything was good to go and that it should be pumping ice out of there by morning. The delivery/service guys said that if the ice didn't start to fill the ice bucket, that I probably needed to call a plumber to replace the water line. Why? I don't know. Well, the next day, still no ice. So I call a plumber. To come fix the line. He comes and tells me that he doesn't need to replace the line and that the service guys should have flushed the water line and that there seemed to be something wrong with the unit itself. I spent $198 for 2 hours of labor. The next day I contacted the shop by phone and spoke with Claudia. I explained about the plumber. I explained that the unit was not working and I would like to be reimbursed for my plumbing expense. She told me that she would talk with her supervisor and get back to me. She didn't get back to me. So I went to the shop directly and saw Claudia and her supervisor about replacing or repairing my refrigerator and reimbursing me for my plumbing expense. They explained that they would have to "see what they could do" about that, and that they were also going to deliver a replacement refrigerator so they could see what was wrong with the one that I purchased, at their shop. Within a day or two they delivered a replacement Whirlpool refrigerator, which was the same model as the one I first purchased. The ice maker works and the water works but still tastes pretty bad. I have not heard from them about my plumbing expense being reimbursed, since I paid for something that I didn't need done and was done at the recommendation of their installers. It is not good business. I would not recommend purchasing from them. read more

I called this company to repair my washer. They gave me an appointment the next day between 3 and 5 pm. At 4:30, they called me and said they were having trouble with their truck and could not get to me. I went ahead and rescheduled with them. When the gentleman came, he parked about 2 houses down from mine in a pretty new looking truck. He gets 2 stars because he did fix the washer in about 10 minutes but he shouldn't have flaked out on the first appointment. Will call someone else next time. read more

What could be worse than having no working oven for Thanksgiving? We have used Gonzalez in the past and they have always been excellent, so we called in a panic. As always, they sent out a technician quickly who determined the problem with our Wolf range, ordered the part, then came back the day before Thanksgiving with two technicians with the attitude they would get everything fixed and running, and they did. We called them at 9:00 a.m. this morning about our malfunctioning old Kenmore Washer and by noon Domingo was here with the part he anticipated we would need based on our description of the problem. I can't tell you how lucky I feel that I found Gonzalez Appliances and their serviceman Domingo. I had a washing machine repaired and a dryer serviced. I was also scheduled for a refrigerator service but when Domingo opened up the back, he said it was clean and he saw no reason to service it since it was working perfectly. He even washed the floor underneath the refrigerator before sliding it back into its spot! I feel that every estimate was honest, completed promptly and properly. Gonzalez Appliances provided exceptional services not once but twice. I was referred to them by my fiancé, he usually recommends his customers to go here as well. First, our washer was making some weird noises and water was also leaking. The second time we had a problem with our dryer. We had the same man repair both machines and both times he explained what the issue was, how it could have happened and how he was going to fix it. With appliances and seeking repair I always fear it would cost an arm and a leg. Gonzalez Appliances is very fair with pricing and very efficient with services. Also, I have to add that within calling them I received a price for them coming to check out the issue and they were able to check it out the same day and repair the next. I found Gonzalez Appliances on line after our clothes dryer stopped heating consistently. I called the next morning (12/31/2019) and got an appointment the same day. Domingo was there and in short order replaced the part needed. What is interesting to me, he did not stop there. He cleaned and lubricated the drum rollers and vacuumed the inside. He then got behind the dryer, removed the back panel and vacuumed the entire back section. After he got the dryer back together, he tested and demonstrated that the heating was working. You aren't calling a number for someone in central CA. The office was very friendly and I got an appointment for the next day (New Year's Eve.). This company spent fifteen minutes at my home and installed a $10 plastic part that I couid have purchased myself on the Internet and charged me $228.00 . I wrote to the owner and told him that I am a legally blind disabled American Veteran with low income and who lives alone and they were unwilling to give me a break. Apparently because I live in Rancho Mirage they charge customers more than they do in Indio, Actually I live in a low-income mobile home park. If I had not been injured and was able to see then I could have repaired my washing machine myself. The lid switch is not hard to replace and the charge of $228 for fifteen minutes of work means they would have charged me $912 if they had worked for sixty minutes or one hour. When I wrote the owner and told him the price of $228 was a hardship for me I thought he would be patriotic enough to at least call me and offer some inspiration to someone who served our country in the military. The owner ignored me and should that he does not care about disabled veterans. You should only call this company if you are rich. I had a rental home and it seemed as if things started to break due to age. I needed to replace the dishwasher and my RE agent suggested Gonzalez Appliances. I was unfamiliar with them and didn't live in the area. I called them, explained my situation and they made a recommendation, then sent me a picture and the price by email. I asked about other less expensive options and they suggested a slightly damaged but new model with small dent on the door. They sent me several pictures so I could see it from all angles. I ended up with a different model and made arrangements for installation once details were worked out. My tenants couldn't have been happier with the installation service and having a new dishwasher.
