I feel like grilled onions and pickles should always be included in a smash burger and the fact the onions was 50 cents and pickles were 50 cents was kind of a bummer. Still think it shouldn't be a upsell. Fries - very delicious and crispy Drinks - no fountain drinks. You can buy can soda from the fridge but no ice sodas. Condiments- ketchup are packets. I paid an extra $1.50 for a bacon habanero jam hoping to enhance the burger but it didn't pair well with anything. First time here and to say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I came in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty busy with several people in line ahead of me, but the line moved very quickly. The young lady at the register was very polite and courteous, she suggested the Good Buns Smash Burger so I went ahead and order that with gravy fries. The dining area was kept really clean with tables and floor spotless. After about a 10 minute wait my order was ready. I have to say, the burger and fries were delicious and prepared just right. The meat was properly seasoned with just the right amount of fat to meat ratio, I definitely recommend. I will be coming back when I'm in the area. read more

Im not usually in the area, but my son invited me to try this and I have to say it's an amazing burger! Get the most expensive one with all the stuff in it, it's off the charts with flavor. I'm not that close to this location so I don't plan on coming back, however if I'm in the area I'll stop and get a burger. One complaint to note, it's not a big one but it's worth a suggestion to management. The single smash (one patty) is the simplest option. I suggested to the manager about adding plain grilled cheese sandwiches to the menu for kids, but I guess that's not the focus of the place. He said the single smash was the closest thing. All add ons are an up charge : cheese, jalapeño, tomato etc... The French fries were definitely fantastic- and we also got chili cheese fries. The corn ribs is something new , I think they are quick fried and seasoned. One rib came with each smash burger order. Casual and quiet, no high chair so that may be something for the owners to also consider. All gender bathroom is at the end of a hallway decorated with a lot of F1 race car poster like art. Ended with soft serve swirl that is available in cups ( no cone). Quick meal still hit close to $50 for two doubles and one single smash. Spare furnishings. The cashier thanked me for my honesty regarding a situation, and later, and he "accidentally" had an extra order of fries for my party. Maybe he genuinely did, but a nice guy. The menu is basic....not fast food, definitely QSR, but...really good tasting beef patties. They compare this place to a restaurant that can have you "in and out" fast, but I'd rather go here. I came here looking for a good smash burger, and my word, did this place deliver. It's a small hole-in-the-wall, by Knott's Berry Farm; completely unassuming, with reasonable prices, I was afraid this place would not meet expectations. Thankfully, it not only met expectations, but wildly exceeded it. We ordered the double smash with bacon and onions, good buns smash, and an order of gravy fries. Gravy fries were delicious, and remained crispy, even though it was smothered in gravy. The burgers themselves were cooked to perfection. They were juicy, the cheese was super crunchy, everything was seasoned well. When you held the burger up to take a bite, nothing really falls out, signs of a perfect smash burger! You order your food at the counter, and then they bring it out to you. This is what I expect from a casual burger spot. But the employee dropped off the food, and asked if we needed any condiments, which was included. Nowadays, I feel like it's exceptionally rare to find a burger spot that doesn't charge for ranch or spread. And then, he came back midway through our meal just to check on us. Overall a great new burger place! They have friendly service and they keep the restaurant clean. The menu isn't the largest but I think if you're just going for burgers you can find something that works for you. There's no soda fountain so everything is bottled. Those are the basics so let's get on to the food. I got a double cheeseburger and it was good. The brioche bun was very nice and fresh. The meat itself was really good. Kind of melted in my mouth. Not quite like a Japanese wagyu patty but this was pretty damn good. The cheese was very gooey which I enjoyed and the sauce was kind of a thousand Island sauce. The only two things I can knock the burger for were that it needed a bit more sauce and it needed something else. Maybe pickles or something else but something was definitely missing to complete the burger. Yes, you can add many things to the burger for an additional fee but I think as is on the menu the burger is missing something. Honestly, the fries were nothing special for standard fries. They were good and crispy but they definitely need to do something to make them stand out a bit more. Maybe some kind of seasoning on them? I can't truly knock this place for anything big. When you consider the price, it's an even better spot to hit up for burgers in this area than anywhere else. I would say this is a very reasonable spot to get a high quality Burger. read more

I've been to Good Buns in the past to pickup an order and it was very tasty. The orders are also ready very quickly. However,today I went into the restaurant to place my order and stayed inside to wait for it. The cashier was very polite so I hate to leave a poor review. However, after taking my order the guests that were in the restaurant eating got up to leave. The cashier went to clean their table after this. Unfortunately, he went right back to the expeditor station without washing his hands. I was previously a restaurant manager so I know that bussers must wash their hands after picking up used plates, cups, and silverware, after wiping down a dirty table with rags or cleaning sprays and before touching clean items for the next guest according to health department food codes. Unfortunately, hands were not washed before grabbing my food so I'm requesting a refund because that is gross. Again the food here was delicious in the past but this incident has me questioning the cleanliness of the establishment. It's an easy fix and I'm sure they can turn it around for the health and safety of their customers. read more

I was greeted right away and asked if It was my first time, and the gentlemen at time right away assisted me by explaining the menu, which I always appreciate. I am a self-proclaimed foodie and I love burgers and fries so when I saw that a new burger joint opened up I had to try it. I have to admit though that this my first time trying a smash burger. I tried the single smash wagyu burger and added grilled onions. From the first bite I could tell this was a quality burger. The cheese was melted and hanging out of the burger which was nice. Definitely filling, but in my humble opinion the burger was a tidbit salty. A tidbit. In my opinion to balance out the salty taste I would consider they add a sweet jam to create a balance of sweet and salty. It would be nice to add other fresh ingredients like lettuce and raw onions too because it is a pretty heavy and filling burger. Please also add a condiment of some kind of hot sauce. Also got their regular fries. Fries were really good. They reminded me of BBQ chicken fries. Cooked fresh and flavorful. I do wonder why they only have chili fries and not chili cheese fries. This is from someone who enjoys a good burger. They give you generous amount of grilled onions. Didn't feel like there was any sauce inside so it should be enjoyed with their free house sauce which tasts like thousand and honey mustard. Chili Fries: I would order the chili on the side next time as I did not know their fries are so good as it is. Very light crisp textures on the outside and soft inside. Taste very different compared to In N Out. This is hot off the grill with very soft bread that is also hot. Cheesy and a bit greasy smash burger which is perfect. As of the service it was a long time to order with the long line and not a lot of seating since there were a lot of people in the restaurant. Came here twice so far. My child seems to like their double double burger very much and requests it a lot for lunch. He says it's juicy and delicious! I tried their single burger and I thought it was ok but it was because I waited an hour to eat it and I just didn't have the same experience as my kid who ate it right after. So I will try next time and be prepare to eat it immediately! But he enjoys it and the double burger is thick and big and the priced pretty good. this place was right across the street from knotts berry farm w/ lots of parking available! Service was very friendly, there was plenty of room inside, and the bathroom was really clean which i appreciate! I went full big back and ordered pretty much everything on the menu. its a small menu but its all you really need. You can customize your burger with any add ons but I just got the GoodBuns smash which has pretty much everything on it with a double patty. It was fireee, soft bun , very good meat and I loved the cheesy crust jalapenos and pickles. I inhaled it! I spent $1.25 extra to try the bacon habanero jam and it did not disappoint! I also got the chili burger, chili fries & the gravy fries! The housemade chili is really good! Every burger comes with a well seasoned corn rib that I can eat all day.
