I tried their Pavé Fries which come with sour cream and creme fraiche. Very unusual, highly recommend. Akin to a potato casserole cut into strips and deep fried, I loved the crunchy layers and textures. I also tried their Grandma's Meatballs (4) which came with marinara sauce, ricotta and parmesan. They were average-sized, but had a lot of flavor. On HH, their signature cocktails are $12. Draft beer is by Urban Roots and is $6. Their service was okay, not exactly warm and fuzzy, but I got my food and drink in a reasonable amount of time.

It tasted like really overdone cod and the crab coating just tasted like burnt flour base crust. This was a severe disappointment. I ordered asparagus on the side which was cooked the way they did in the 1950s to a point of mush and what was another severe disappointment. The chocolate bomb was absolutely delicious. I have to say when I come again, I will stick to my usual Thai steak salad as it is always incredibly good and for the main course, I will probably order that chicken and waffles again too!

The burger was also nicely done. We had ours with Gruyère cheese and avocado, beef cooked medium rare. 10/10. Our waitress was also super nice and attentive. She sat us outside in the shade and made us feel welcome. She even shared a couple other spots to try out while we're in Sacramento. I can tell that this place gets packed out. I really liked the vibe of the interior and feel this would a solid spot to watch sports and eat "refined" bar food. We'll absolutely be back!

She's attentive, engaging, and "tells us the truth and brings us food," which is our family's highest honor. I had the Caesar salad and charcuterie. Excellent, and I had plenty to take home for today's lunch. My husband had the chicken. He recommends it, and had enough left over for today's lunch. We always love the music and the vibe. I'm not sure that I want to wait until my birthday to go back. Brunch? A cocktail and dessert? We'll see.

Out waiter was kind enough to bring candles which was so sweet of her! My sister, grandma, and I shared the red velvet cake and it was amazing. You could taste the history and personality of every dish. I have never tasted such great food. we sat on the patio and it was so gorgeous. They had a plaque about the green book and the history of the time period and what it was. My history loving family found that super cool. The atmosphere inside was great. The artwork was beautifu. Also he service was impeccabl. Our server, isis, was incredibly kind and helpfu. The service was speedy which is great bc my grandma was tired and usually had dinner at four (it was 7). However we still had enough time between appetizers, the meal, and dessert. Overall my family and I will be going back and I think we found our new favorite restauran.
