Chocolate crème pie from Goode Co
    Laurie V.

Went with friends for a late lunch. We used to live in Houston and love Goode Co BBQ. The food is always good and consistent! We all had plates with two meats and sides. Brisket, Turkey , ribs , jalapeños sausage , cheque sausage all of it was delicious. We also got a chocolate crème pie to bring home and eat also delicious!! The restaurant is decorated with old saddles and other vintage items along with a beautiful chandelier. This is the best BBQ in Houston highly recommend!!

My first time ordering take out. I ordered the 3 meat two sides dinner which was only $1 more than the two meat two sides dinner. I had brisket which was mild, tender and juicy. A double order of pork ribs that were both tender and meaty. Flavor on the meats was nice. The Austin baked beans were scrumptious! Filled with meat, potatoes, peppers, and great seasoning on the baked beans. The beans could be a meal on its own. The potato salad was bland as if they had put cottage cheese or sour cream in it. The condiments included a nice container of mild bbq sauce, side of pickles, onions, jalapeños and a slice of homemade jalapeños cheese bread. For dessert I ordered the chocolate bourbon pecan pie..excellent! Not over powering, but deliciously rich in flavor.

I've been coming to Goode Company for years and they've never missed!!! I always get the Beef Ribs, Green Beans (LOVE THEM), and Czech Sausage. The Turkey and Chicken are fan favorites that I'll try, if I'm feeling it. The secret star of the show is the Pecan Pie. Customer service is always a hit. I always pick something that the cashier likes and try it.

I feel like five stars isn't enough. My co worker and I went here on the same day as the big storm in Houston about a month ago. We arrived in the middle of the storm, it was probably too dangerous to run from the car to the restaurant but we did any way. The manager welcomed us into safety. After awhile of watching the storm they asked if we were hungry, I insisted we pay for it but the said don't worry about it because they didn't have any power to the registers. The staff was super welcoming and nice, and the food tasted amazing, food was still warm even though there wasn't any power!

BBQ Lunch Three Meat: brisket, baby back ribs, and sausag

It's a good barbecue joint that has a very "texan decor." The portions are good for a lunch, and the staff is extremely cordial! Food: the three meat plate with Sausage, brisket, and baby back ribs was good and paired excellent with the complimentary bread slice! Specifically, the brisket was tender and tore easily, the sausage had a good casing, and the ribs were a bit tough but still excellent flavor. The sides of rice and cole slaw were good, but the rice was a bit too mushy. Be sure to ask for an extra barbecue sauce (it's sweet, but good) Cheers

Goode Co has pretty okay barbecue and a fun dining hall to make the experience fun. I book large groups here often. They offer a private room on the balcony overlooking the restaurant. It's fun up there with a great view of the hall and your guests and have a make lots of noise without bothering other guests. The restaurant will cater so your party doesn't need to see menus and the staff does a super job with service.

This Treebeards appearance was very pretty (not what I was expecting giving my experience with the downtown location and I am not sure that it is still around). Also, some other nice restaurants in this block. The restaurant was packed with professionally dressed people. The waiter took our order, and he was accommodating to substitutions and our selection of side orders. I got fried catfish. This is not a normal selection for me as I will normally avoid fried foods other than fries and chips (yes, and I wonder why I do not lose the 5 lbs. that I need to lose). Service was quick and our order was perfect. The friend catfish was outstanding as it was right out of the fryer. It was a very pleasant experience and I would happily go back.

The meatballs and tomato sauce were both solid and I loved the toasted bread on the side. As for the truffle deviled eggs, that's something you don't see often on the menu! The truffle flavor/aroma was solid and the fresh chips on top were nice. The cheeseburger was pretty good and I enjoyed all the veggies that came with! Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

Located in Spring Branch, this fast casual restaurant is located in the same shopping center as quite a few solid eateries including The Blind Goat, Jinya, and Feges BBQ. In fact, Stuffed Belly is owned by Christine Ha, winner of season five of Masterchef. Parking wasn't an issue in the busy yet spacious complimentary lot around the shopping center. Ambiance (3/5): Stuffed Belly is more of a grab-and-go type spot. The reason? It's quite small. There are about five seats inside and one long picnic style seating area on the small patio. That's it. The restaurant looks nice, just tiny. Service (4.5/5): You order at the counter and they let you know when your order is ready. The ordering process was smooth and we got our food within a reasonable amount of time. While service isn't a big part of the experience, I didn't run into any issues. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order any beverages on this visit. Food (3/5): I went with the belly burger (their classic burger) and an order of the loaded tots. It was a mixed bag. I love a good smash burger, it's one of my favorite types of burgers. The ingredients are all quality. The problem? One issue is that it's a pretty small burger as you can tell from my picture. A kiddie burger of sorts. The loaded tots, on the other hand, were a generous portion. I have a weakness for loaded fries. As others have mentioned in their reviews, fries are not an option at Stuffed Belly. Tots only. I like tater tots too, but it is pretty bizarre for a burger spot to not have fries on the menu. The other issue I have is that both of my items (as well as what my mom ordered) was spicy. Take this with a grain of salt as I can only handle a little spice. Still, the menu offerings packed more of a punch than I expected. Which definitely impacted my enjoyment of the meal. If you like spicy, don't sweat it. If you don't, you're probably going to feel like I did. While Stuffed Belly underdelivered a bit for me, I did come in with high expectations. The Blind Goat is much better (though more expensive) in my book. Also keep in mind that Stuffed Belly closes pretty early on several days of the week... 8 p.m.

Just a heads up, this place is counter service, so you order at the front and then grab a table. The crawfish garlic butter sauce actually has really good flavor, but the crawfish themselves weren't very juicy. It tasted like most of the flavor stayed on the outside rather than soaking into the crawfish. If they let the crawfish sit in the sauce longer, I think it would make a big difference. The fried catfish was solid, and the whole wings were good. Regular wings were just okay. Prices are pretty reasonable though around $10/lb normally, and they are running a special of 5 lbs for $45. Overall, a decent spot with potential. If the crawfish were juicier, I'd definitely come back because the sauce itself is actually pretty good!
