First of all this place is a fishbowl!! Saturday night at 7 we walk past and see empty tables. We walk in and ask for a table. We are greeted with do you have reservations? Hmm..no, we are no longer accepting walk-ins. Wow...that was like a slap in the face, Others came in after us and were greeted in the same fashion. What a crock!! Sunday we have been gone all day on an outing outside the city. Thinking about what are we going to do about dinner? Thinking hmmm Gordon Ramsay burgers, should we give them a chance? We make reservations for 730. We get to the fishbowl 5 minutes early and have to wait because they are cleaning our table. I guess the other four empty tables are for show. As we wait in the small waiting area, we are entertained by the same song and dance we experienced the night before. When they are ready to seat us, we are greeted by a Boston bottleneck inside the restaurant! There is wait staff being trained and there is not enough room between the bar and the ordering station. Then some random guy comes from the other side of the restaurant waving his cellphone at the waitstaff. When we are seated there are four empty tables. Interesting. We took a look at the menu and made our decision and waited...the hostess (I think) came by and ask if our server had been there, no but I think she is right behind you. Our order was taken. We decided that we would share a chowder (tasty), a wedge salad ( where we come from it is a wedge of iceberg lettuce) this was deconstructed with romaine lettuce. Now the burger that was delicious, the burger of the month. We also ordered onion rings...they were good but my goodness $12 for four rings (one of the onion rings was made with part of the outside skin still on)!! I arrived approx 6:30pm today with no reservations for a party of 4. Let me tell you, I was not greeted with a smile but instead a tone of misery. The lady in the front told me it would be 30-40min wait for a party of 4 and the bar is open for guests 21+. I was like OK, mind you, we are 35+, a bat would've seen that. Clearly there were many tables open but I get it, reservations first. You don't need my business and I dont need your business is the vibe you gave me. We explored the bar and received a stare down by the waitress (who i think was having a bad night), no smile or assistance with finding bar seats. The energy was brutal! I haven't even tried the food yet and I don't think I will. These are all red flags. Where's the hospitality? I can't believe I took the time to write a review, that's how bad the service was. Not worth a 19 dollar burger without fries. I went there to get a veggie burger thinking it would be a house-made patty. It was not a house-made one it was probably impossible patty. Service: 1/10 We waited for about 15 minutes after being seated before anyone even offered us water. The hostess came to the table once to apologize for the long wait. The server was pleasant enough when he finally did acknowledge our table, but throughout the meal, he never refilled the water glasses or asked if we wanted additional drinks. When delivering the food, we were not asked if there was anything else we needed, such as ketchup. My husband didn't really like the taste of the burger he ordered, and had to flag someone down to get ketchup so that he could eat it. See more below about the ketchup. We had to wait an additional 5 minutes before we finally got the ketchup. It was all so bad that my husband, who is usually an over-tipper, left a minimal tip. Food: 2/10 We had the corn dip as an appetizer. It tasted like canned cream corn with a little cream cheese and corn meal added. It was very sweet, and I couldn't taste any of the other flavors supposedly in the dish. We wished we had ordered something else. My husband ordered the Backyard Burger ($16 with no fries), cooked medium. The meat was rare, and he said there was a strange fishy flavor to the burger, and needed ketchup to make it palatable enough to eat. As mentioned above, he was not offered any condiments, and we had to flag someone down to get some. It took that person so long, that we flagged down someone else. When he finally got the ketchup, he said it wasn't like any ketchup he had ever tasted, and NOT in a good way. But the burger had such a weird flavor that the ketchup was needed for him to be able to eat it. I ordered the Hellfire Chicken Salad ($18). This is probably my fault as I did not understand the nature of the Hellfire sauce, which has no flavor, but just scorches your tongue so that you can't taste anything else. I was hungry so I suffered through half of the salad--not tasting anything. This is where the lack of service was really noticeable. I had to drink all my water to be able to continue eating the salad, but we never got our glasses refilled. Luckily, my husband didn't drink all of his and was willing to share. Location: 7/10 The best thing about this restaurant is the location and the view. The interior is basic, but the windows all around, and the location in the North End, make it an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends for us. Recommeded: Heck NO! We agreed that we feel almost traumatized by this dining experience, and still has significant regrets, mostly because we chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversary dinner. (Yes, choosing a burger place may seem strange, but my husband loves all things Gordon Ramsey.) I often frequent Gordon Ramsay burger with my sidekick knuckles, but tonight was the last time I'll even come close to this hellhole. It was a 20 minute experience, we asked the hostess/waitress if we were able to sit outside and she stared at us like we were from another planet, I'm starting to think that maybe she is an extra terrestrial being and not from planet earth. She didn't even answer me when I asked to sit outside, she just ran away, I didn't sign up for a track meet tonight, she picked up the pace and lead us all the way around the restaurant, I'm a freak athlete yes, but I was so taken off guard by her pace. My sidekick asked for the blue cheese burger but with the blue cheese on the side, and the pungent waitress did the thousand yard, extra terrestrial stare yet again, what a creepy encounter. The first time we got the spicy caesar salad and drinks, shoutout to our awesome server Derrick and the amazing manager as well. We went back the next day and got the hell's kitchen burger and just a regular cheese burger plus fries. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My husband and I loved our experience here. We came to Boston on a quick trip from Maryland. The food is delicious and you can taste the freshness. Absolutely, hands down the best burger and onion rings I have ever had in my life. I got the Juicy Lucy, which is the November special. Cheese inside the burger and on top. So decadent, so delicious . The onion rings were huge, crispy, flavorful, and had a great BBQ ketchup and a sour cream like dip. Over the top delicious. Not cheap. About $40 with tip. I've been to the Las Vegas location, and this one is just not as good. Servers are friendly enough, but not around when you need them and made odd mistakes (like forgetting who's order went where). Pretty sure our server forgot we never ordered burgers until we reminded them (had apps and drinks). Interior vibe is not as cool as Vegas either. The shakes are solid but you only have two to pick from. Apps are good as well. Burgers all around got "meh" reviews. Too greasy for one person, lack of flavors for others, and some flavor combinations that didn't work. One burger had bacon that was really hard to chew (see pic). The fries were crispy and tasty, one order was a large enough serving for the two of us, and the accompanying ketchups were also very good. The hostess was extremely welcoming and took us upstairs and on to the open-air terrace to "the best table for a good view". It was a great view! If I had to give one improvement needed that would be to expand the draft choices. There are only four choices - Modelo, Guinness, Harpoon, and an IPA. Excellent all around! We were so psyched to try this restaurant I thought maybe we were jinxing ourselves. I'm from Boston but moved away many years ago. We are here on Christmas vacation. We had four people in our party and it was the first visit for everyone. We only have a week here, but we are trying to figure out how to return before we go home. We had an excellent experience from the moment we walked in the door. The hostess was sweet, friendly. Our server came right to the table. I think his name was Derek. I'm sorry if I'm getting that wrong. He was very knowledgeable about the restaurant, friendly, and very attentive. I don't know if they don't have a bartender during the day, but I asked for a mojito. Initially I was guessing they didn't have (because no one ever has it) but surprise my server made it for me and he did a great job. I've had a lot of Mojitos and that was one of the best ever. We all got different burgers, and they were all excellent perfectly cooked and seasoned. One person in our party has a food intolerance that was taken seriously and the food was adjusted accordingly. I highly recommend the truffle fries. The atmosphere of the restaurant is clean and very modern, which is to be expected. We've been to quite a few places during our trip, but I have to say it seems like the staff here is just happier. We made reservations on Open Table for Christmas Day at 6:30 pm. We arrived and they seated us immediately. The building itself is very cool, beautifully decorated. The British flag up on the ceiling was a nice touch for Boston. Playful and fun. :) I ordered a Blue cheese burger and would order it again. Although I was disappointed that it was still very red in the center when I ordered medium well, but the seasonings and toppings were still good enough to offset that. If it had been cooked right, it may have been one of the better burgers I've ever had.The sweet fries I ordered on the side with jalapeño were yummy, but not quite worth $9. I was expecting them to be drizzled or a little something extra, not just a small side dip. My daughter had an ABC burger and ordered the roasted tomato on the side, which was delicious to munch on just itself. We also ordered the chowder, which comes in a very small bowl, but is delicious. I loved that it was chopped and you weren't just eating huge chunks of potato. It was flavorful. This was our first experience at a Ramsay Burger and it was great! I was a little surprised the restaurant did not have many customers. It started filling up around the time we left at about 6:45. There was a nice relaxing atmosphere to it. There was great 80s music playing and we loved the diner atmosphere. The only negative thing for us was the 35-40 minute wait for the food. I had the Farmhouse Burger and my wife had the Hell 's Kitchen Burger. Our kids had kid burgers and fries. We also had Truffle Fries and Sweet Potato Fries. I thought the Farmhouse was amazing while the Hells Kitchen Burger was good but needed more seasoning. The fries, especially the Truffle fries, were great. We finished the meal off with an Oreo Milkshake and Pumpkin Milkshake. Both were delicious. We would definitely come back. read more

It was just ok. The staff wasn't very friendly or attentive. They just seemed like customers were a bother. The place wasn't busy. The burgers were decent as were the fries. Salad was good. Our biggest complaint was the amount of salt on everything which made the food not as enjoyable as it could be. Let customers put their own salt on their food or don't be so heavy handed with it. Also, get the staff to understand that the customers are what keep the business open and teach them better customer service. The space was nice and appeared clean. The table overhead lights should be turned down just a tad as we felt like we were under a spotlight. I'd say if you crave a burger then go ahead and give it a try. read more

A horrible experience over a burger. My burger was served with a burnt bun, wilted lettuce, and barely a swipe of mayo. When I complained to the manager (Ali) that a Ramsey restaurant should take pride in their food and serve good food she offered to remake my burger. After 7 minutes I received the SAME burger patty and condiments in a new bun with fresh lettuce, but now the burger patty was cold. I had to ask to make me a fresh burger from scratch. I really enjoyed my opening day visit to Gordon Ramsay Burger. As a big fan of the man himself and the Hell's Kitchen series, I had to order the Hell's Kitchen Burger. It was absolutely delicious minus the one or two jalapeno seeds that slipped through the cracks and made one bite unbearably spicy. I also enjoyed a side of truffle fries which was more than enough for two people to share.
