I wanted to splurge on some next level fish and chips, but I feel duped. The design is fun and the restaurant seemed clean. Lines moved quick so hopefully that means the fried food was fresh. The staff seemed disinterested. The prices are fairly ridiculous. We tried fish and chips x2, added a lobster, upgraded all the fries, had one beer, one lemonade and one soft drink, and it was $92 total. Well for that price it better be out of this world, right?! The wait for our order was not too bad. The taste/crunch of the fish and lobster was ok but the sauces were pretty mayo-heavy and flavorless. The upgraded fries were the biggest disappointment I've had in a while. It is an experience, but for this price tag I would not recommend it to anyone I know. Hopefully Gordon makes a surprise visit to invigorate the place a bit at some point. read more

Went here the other night. My second time trying them. last time was back in October but I didn't leave a review then. However, the food this visit and last visit was the same. Both times I got the lobster shrimp combo and added fish. Thing is I forgot about the fish from my first visit. Lobster and shrimp were amazing nicely seasoned no complaints. Not so for the fish. For some reason the fish was really bland like I'm not sure why they don't season it like the lobster and shrimp. If it just had some more seasoning on it would have been great. read more

Amazing experience even tho my food was messed up! I went last week for my first time and I've already been back since. The quality of the food is amazing. I was very impressed. Makes sense that Gordon Ramsay has his name on the restaurant. I tried the fish and chips, shrimp, and lobster and was impressed with both entrées. My favorite sauce was the Sriracha aïoli. It was spicy! The tartar sauce was good as well. They offer a bunch of customizations on the french fries or what they call chips. I ordered a specific customization on the fries and they serve them to me incorrect. When I brought it to their attention, they made my food very quick and gave me a free shake on top of it! On December 27th, 2024, we stopped by Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips for lunch. The restaurant inside the Silver Legacy is clean, bright, and has a very positive vibe. There is adequate table seating inside and also right "outside" the facility. The music is at a perfect volume with a British (what else?) flavor. The menu is simple and enticing without being overwhelming. We both ordered the "Fish Box" with tartar and cocktail sauses, and added a caramel "Sticky Shake". This Fish and Chips is quite possibly the BEST we have ever tasted, and the Sticky Shake made for a great dessert! The employees here are friendly, enthusiastic and helpful. The attention to detail is commendable, right down to a "Doggy Bag" that is matched in size to perfectly fit the Fish Box! I WAS wondering why separate salt and pepper packets are not offered- customers have to grab another Utensils Kit that includes a skinny napkin and only a single salt and a single pepper packet with 3 plastic utensils. That seemed wasteful. Overall, a very enjoyable Restaurant that we will revisit over and over. read more

This is a cute little quick lunch or dinner spot. I've been walking past this place a couple times during my last Reno stay and finally made time to try it. The cooks are on fire! They make the food quick and so tasty. They are surprisingly more friendly than the cashiers. The different fry options are interesting. I got fish and chips that had bacon and cheese on them. My boyfriend got shrimp and chips that were jalapeño flavoring or something on the chips. It all was soooo tasty and can't wait to try more from this place. This place opened 3 days ago on a long weekend and we were able to try this place out. People must not know about them just yet because it wasn't as busy as I expected it to be. There was a line but also they only had one register open. This is more on a casual dining experience. Menu was pretty simple and straight forward.We ordered build your own box with fish light,flaky,crispy and not too oily and chips (plain) side order of lobster which was good, chicken (this was ok) and had it with Gordon tartar and southwest ranch. Ambience is Midwest Mall food court. Not impressive. Perhaps I expect to much from Mr. Ramsay. Service was perhaps the high point. They were efficient, upbeat and courteous. The fish was just average as was the batter. Certainly not bad but I expected more. Likewise the chips (fries)- just average. No salt available anywhere. The chips were adequately salted but I sometimes want more. They were out of tea. Altogether I was disappointed. It is probably my fault for having high expectations. Sunday morning. Opened on time but no one to run the register for 8 minutes, she was running late. No tartar sauce. No malt vinegar. They only sell seafood! How could you not have tartar sauce?! I counted 2 white jackets 1 French fry cook 1 fish cook 1 lady wearing black 1 young man filling supplies and the late cashier that was the only person that could take our order. At least the fish cook wasn't eating French fries while cooking this time and there wasn't a puddle of oil at the bottom of the box. The fish and shrimp are good but the chips are always barely warm. The only thing I loved was the shrimp cooked perfectly. 2 in an add on order. The sweet tea was a small cup. Only one size available. The fish one piece for an add on was a small 1 by 3 inch square. Not what u think of when u ththink English fish n chips. A huge filet wrapped in newspaper was what I was expecting. The lobster was over cooked and rubbery. Trying it once was enough. From the service to the food, everything was great! I loved how clean the restaurant was too! My boyfriend & I chose to go to Reno for Thanksgiving weekend & decided to take it light this year. We ended up having lunch here since we were staying at Silver Legacy. This side of The Row used to be an extension of the buffet eating area back then. It's kind of sad to see that it's gone, but I'm glad to know it's been replaced with something like Gordon Ramsay's cuisine. Let me just say how fresh and crispy these fish & chips were. The flavor was fantastic & I loved my dipping sauces. I got the fish & #3 dirty fries with Dijon mustard mayo & spicy mayo. I loved how simple the fish was & the sizes were great! My boyfriend got the fishwich & #1 dirty fries with a side of fried shrimp. The fried shrimp was so good by the way! Also, portion was generous! We ended up not finishing it. This place has potential. The staff is friendly & the food was decent. We got 2 fish & chips, one with dirty fries #1 which is fries w/ chorizo, cotija, onions & jalapenos. The only issue I had with the fries was that it felt like they weren't freshly fried. The fish was great, just the right amount of breading, the only issue I had with the fish is that we got one piece that was cold in the middle, it needed more frying time. The meals are not cheap so for the amount I'm paying, about $45 I expect my meal to be as fresh & hot as possible. The first time we ate here, the fish was excellent--crisp and not greasy. They also had great, non-greasy chips with a side of sea salt in a plastic container. Service was fast, and the employees were great. On the second visit, I had the shrimp and chips; my wife had the lobster, shrimp, and chips. This time, everything was greasy and bordered on gross. At check out, the person was terrific. I can't say so much for the order pick up guy. I asked for the sea salt and was told snarkily that it was next to the soda machine. I went to the soda machine and couldn't find the sea salt. I went back to the order guy, and he basically told me, "Hey, stupid, it's in the packets with the plastic knife, fork, and spoon." Why couldn't he have done that in the first place? Considering the price we paid, over $40.00 for two quick-serve dinners, a little civility and kindness from the staff is not too much to ask. When Smees opens on Kitzke or On the Hook is in town with their truck, you'd be better off investing your money there for a more satisfying dining experience. Much better food and better service. No snarky number caller with glasses. The ambiance was quick-serve meets casino with a British-inspired soundtrack. The place was clean. read more

First off...I was going to give this place 1 star. This got bumped up to 2 stars because someone within Gordon Ramsey's team actually cared. Wanted to try another of Gordan Ramsey's fish and chips. Went to his LV location many years back and maybe they had a bad day, but it was not great then. This is a new joint many years later, hoping things would change cuz well, we like Gordan from his shows and Hell's Kitchen itself is not bad food at all. Maybe a little pricey, but not bad at all. We ordered the fish and chips....surprise, surprise! Was going to try one of his desserts, which looked interesting. They had sticky toffee pudding balls and shake. I asked the cashier if they were overly sweet and sadly he gave me a funny face and said yes, so I passed on them. Ordered just the 3 piece fish and chips. Added on a 4th piece of fish for an additional cost cuz this was being shared between wife and I. When you get older, you just don't eat that much and it's better to share and then try something else as well. That's how we roll. So the wait was not too long to get our fish and chips. They were cranking them out and the fryer is literally out in the open and you can see them making the food fresh. Well, as fresh as you can get. The chips were frozen, not fresh and they were not the same fat pieces of potato that is traditional at places that are authentic. This place is probably more of a gimmick and authentic. TO say the least, we had better chips elsewhere. So on to the main event, the fish. Out of the 4 we had, maybe 1/2 was half decent, meaning you can see and taste the fish. Yes, fresh fish you can taste after fried and see if they don't give you like a itty bitty piece. It was full of batter and well they OVERFRIED that fish to the point where it's OVERLY hard, not crispy but hard. My wife had 1 fish and she literally broke through it and found maybe a slither of fish. She got pissed so went to the guy that was putting the food out. She told him there is literally no fish in the fish and chips. Guess what this guy did? He said that she ate it and that she wanted more for free. WTF? That's Gordan Ramsey high level customer service, even at a fast-food joint? Wow. Unbelievable. Also, he laughed, threw it in the trash and walked away like jabbering something with his co-worker. We didn't even want another fish...cuz well we'll probably get another all batter fish that is overcooked...so no thank you. All we wanted is some acknowledgement, but instead we got insulted and ridiculed. NOw that is their version of hospitality. Wow. Unbelieveable. So my wife did not want to let this go, so guess what she did? She went next door to the real restaurant. Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen! LOL She asked for the manager, and she got them. She profusely apologized and said that this guy (he was not Caucasian BTW) and it was on 8/2/25 around 6pm-630pm behavior was unacceptable and she was willing to refund us for our measly $24 dinner meal, which BTW we didn't ask for. We just wanted this to change cuz it's not right for a restaurant, or any business for you to treat your customer this way. 10000% unacceptable and I hope this guy gets fired. He needs to go work outside of people and maybe in the sewer or somewhere that hides him away from society because well he is the rat he is. We will not be coming back to any of Gordon's fast-food joints from now on. I think they need to do better. read more

This time on the other hand I ordered their fishwich with the fixings and this time I can say that ill for sure come back here I liked the mix of flavor from the siracha aoli , sprit some lemon on top and yum yum!!they did make a couple of mistakes with 2 of my friends orders , 1st they gave regular fries instead of dirty fries.. which they fixed by giving her the dirty fries n let her keep the regular ones. On the other order they forgot to give the add on lobster , to fix the mistake they gave 2 instead of 1! Problems solved! I look at there menu and it looks interesting and simple with fish and chips. As I approached the cashier, looking at him being a 49ers fan and more of s "yes man" I was looking for am answers about the menu,certain items, and asked him about the fish sandwich. His response was a great sandwich. I also asjj my Ed ably the sauces and fries. He just agreed with me and said it was good. No description or not familiar with the menu. The dirty fries were soggy, and basically got two fish tacos and laud almost $30 for it the tacos s had a slight spice too it which I was not expecting but ok. I ended through it half away and a bit disappointed I guess with band of Gordon Ramsey having higher expectations, but I guess it's my fault to expect that. I believe my initial review was overly critical. I did in fact, have an enjoyable experience up until the third piece of fish. I believe I should've informed the chef while I was there and I'm sure they would have rectified the situation. Updating to three stars. Original review - I so wanted to love this place. I had the fish and chips. Comes with three pieces. Upgraded chips to Dirty #3 Bacon-Bacon, cheddar cheese, green onions, sour cream, and added a lemonade. The lemonade was fantastic. They have added orange or tangerine zest which elevated the lemonade to another level. The chips were surprisingly good. The fish was the best I've ever had, so soft and flakey with just the right amount of salt. That is the first two pieces were the best I've ever had... the third, at the bottom of the basket was awful. Tough dry piece of cardboard. Spit it out, couldn't eat it. Is the fact that it was on the bottom of the basket a coincidence or did the cook know.... Generally avoid fish when not near the ocean as its freshness is a risk. But hey, it's Gordon Ramsey! For sure he is sourcing fresh top quality fish... I suspect the piece was freezer burnt.... For $35 and Gordon Ramsey restaurant I expected more, A LOT MORE! I was looking forward to dinner at Ramsays Kitchen for dinner. Splurge a little, you only live once. Had to pass after this experience. Ate at the food court in Circus Circus and had some great pasta, for cheap. Gordon! Time to yell at the owner.... Maybe the hype is just TV hype... Disappointed. Phenomenal service and food. Absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked in every way. We order the chicken and shrimp with a lobster tail. Fired lobster is hard to execute because it cooks so quickly, but this lobster was tender and soft, not tough at all. I also appreciate that they remove the tail from the shell instead of just frying the entire thing, like most places. Never in my life have I had fried lobster taste this good. The fries were also delicious and the chicken was plentiful, large and appeared to be just breast meat, not dry at all. Sriracha aioli was fantastic. All of the workers were exceptionally friendly and the food came out quickly. Prices are reasonable at $15 for 3 large chicken tenders and fries with two sauce cups. I have gotten take out from here a couple of times and it has always been good but I didn't feel that I could review it until I went down and had it fresh and in person. First of all, I love the décor. It's very fun and adds to the chip shop atmosphere. I split the Lobster and Shrimp Box with the #3 fries and an extra order of chicken with my wife. The best, of course, was the lobster tail. It was not chew or rubbery at all and had good flavor. I also appreciate that there are malt vinegar packets out and available since that is the best for fried fish and my personal favorite on fries, although all of the sauces that I tried were very good as well. Even though this is tucked away in the casino, everyone was very nice but the folks cooking were especially friendly and made small talk when we picked up at the pass. I am also happy to report that they have a couple of local beers on tap these days which go nicely with fried food.
