I'ma HUGE Gordon Ramsey fan! I watch all his shows including his at home videos on YouTube, I have all his cookware (that I could get from Costco ;) roadshows) and here I finally made it to one of his restaurants (the ones in Vegas are always booked when I'm there). If I met Gordon I'd probably pass out, but I probably won't be back here. Service/cashier was good--patient even though we changed our order, they said it was no problem. We're were there on a Monday afternoon. We ordered fish with dirty fries; mine were the truffle parm. The parm was wet, "truffle" was truffle oil which was kinda like gasoline. The fries themselves were all shapes and sizes, some tender some crunchy. Beatles-era music playing with the Union Jack painted everywhere. The fish was nice and tender, but as Gordon would say, "bland" but then again, English food is on the bland side. My favorite sauce was the Sriracha Aioli. I also tried Gordon's tartar which was very light almost like plain yogurt. I also tried the Dijon mustard and cocktail sauce. I kept going back to the aioli. I didn't order dessert thinking that if the fish and chips were phenomenal, I would order dessert but they weren't, so I could probably save my money and make Gordon's favorite sticky pudding myself. read more

Was looking for a place to eat in Reno and was able to try this back when I was in Vegas. We found this inside a hotel that was recommended. I visit while I was here by a friend. It had the same layout as it did in Vegas. We ordered fish and dirty sauce number one dirty sauce, number two. We also got Gordon's tartar sauce, curry, and mango, and the spicy aïoli. We also got the Toffee shakes. Service was efficient The toffee shake was thick and multi a toffee taste you would get if you have had the original dessert. I really enjoyed it. We aren't usually in a mood for all deep fried dinner, but my kids are enamored with Gordon Ramsay so we thought this would be fun for them to try. We went on a Thursday night and disappointed to see the shake machine was being cleaned so no Sticky Toffee milkshake for us. It's a very casual fast food type set up, order at the counter and you pick up when they call your order. We decided to share 3 box meals between the 4 of us. We decided on a shrimp (5), fish(3), and chicken(3) box and went for the cheese and bacon dirty fries for one order and plain on the rest. The pricing for the food wasn't really that bad in my opinion, but drinks are expensive. We got 1 fountain drink, 1 beer, and asked for 2 cups for water which was happily provided. With the locals discount (I signed up for the players card solely for the 20% discount) all of this came under $60. Actually pretty reasonable these days for a family of 4. The food is cooked to order and hot and fresh. I thought all the proteins were tasty but thought the chicken was a bit too salty, seasoned really nicely but too salty. The rest of my party actually liked the chicken best. After eating the chicken the fish batter did taste bland in comparison, but I still liked the fish best. We tried cocktail, tartar, curry, and southwest ranch. I think the tartar was the best of them. The chips were just ok, they didn't really soak in the malt vinegar and we had a lot of them left. The bacon and cheese upgrade was ok, but didn't seem worth the price. Next time we will probably just get one box and add on proteins. We did not eat all the chicken, they are large portions. It was OK. The biggest negative was the high cost for what is basically fast food. I think 75% of the cost is having Gordon Ramsay's name attached. You order and pay at the counter, get a number, find a table and wait to pick it up. No table service and during the time we were there, no table clean up between customers. Ambiance is bare bones, but appropriate for Brit version of junk food. I will turn now to the positive. The portions were generous. I had the traditional breaded white fish (probably haddock) with regular chips (aka French fries). The breading was crisp, the fish piping hot, moist and very fresh. The fries were crispy and lightly salted but lost their flavor as they cooled. The side dips were ok and a lemon slice was speared the the top. Did not see any vinegar which is a traditional condiment. All was served in a box with holders for the sauce. Staff were friendly and the food was done quickly. Take out bags are available. O-FISH-ally popped my cherry at my first Gordon Ramsay restaurant, and it definitely didn't disappoint! I was surprised to find out that there were so many Gordon Ramsay establishments in the Tahoe/Reno area, and I absolutely had to check out this spot. These were probably the best fish and chips I ever had- the fish were fried to perfection, with a crispy outer crust and a juicy, tender filet inside. I ordered the dirty fries, which contained thick, perfectly fried French fries topped with spicy ground meat, onions and jalapeños. The sauces were also well-made and paired nicely with the fish, although I wish we could order more. The only reason why I'm giving this spot 4 stars is with how soulless the service was. Hell, if Gordon was here, he would probably be screaming his face off. I get that the employees are probably tired with the constant unforgiving influx of customers (some of which were angrily storming out), but the pacing was extremely slow for a casual spot. I watched one of the girls grumpily and slowly stab the fish with a toothpicks while the employee calling out the order was definitely carrying the operation by assisting her (and is well-deserving of a raise). First time ever I went to buy food and there was no line. Whenever I pay a visit to circus circus we always make sure to stop by here. I got the lobster and shrimp and chips. I also order a biscotti shake which was divine. It's always busy some tables could be cleaned more often but I usually have no problem finding a seat. Go find a seat, inside or out of the the restaurant along the casino area. Be careful where you sit if you want to have a conversation, the overhead speakers play the music quite loudly. They will call your number for you to go to the front counter for pick up. $30 for boxed food, at least bring it to the table. My first bite of overbreaded lobster was very salty, others were ok. The two shrimp were large. The #2 dirty fries were luke warm, not fully cooked, and limp. Amazingly tasteless since they were supposed to be tossed in truffle, parmesan and parsley. I couldn't finish them. Presentation was ok, in a box, fries on the bottom, then seafood, with separate holders for your choice of two sauces. Nothing spectacular with my choices- shrimp sauce and dijon mayonnaise. They helped give the fries a little flavor. First and last visit, no need to return. Wanted to try out the new Gordon Ramsay place in the Silver Legacy Casino. Walking in the store was very clean. We weren't in a big line. We noticed the menu was on the center pole which was kind of cool. We got up to the front rather quickly, knowing what we wanted to order. I was going to have the lobster and shrimp and add a chicken and a fish. I was up front you can only add one so I just added the fish and my son added the chicken. We both drink water . I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have regular tea. I'm not a sweet guy anymore. People just don't carry the regular tea anymore. It's kind of disappointing or was taken by very kind young lady. And we were seated. It didn't seem like it took very long, which kind of me because I was hoping that the lobster was not going to be chewy. Our order was called short. We grab some malted vinegar two forks and we're very happy to get started in this amazing food. I first tried the fish which was really really yummy. The cook on it was really good. There was no burn. Sometimes when you deep fry the fish, it gets a little cooked. It was very flaky inside and super yummy. I then moved onto my piece of chicken. Wow it was very moist on the inside. I was very surprised. It was a little dark on the outside, but not so much to being burnt. OK now it's shrimp. I bet the shrimp and I was very surprised and pleased that the flavor of it was very good. It was very moist and super yummy. OK now we go to the lobster deep fried lobster wow deep fried lobster and chips a.k.a. french fries OK let's give it a try by the lobster, I was extremely pleased that the lobster was not. It was very flavorful and very easy to eat. I guess the reason I only gave four stars instead of five because everything was perfect except for the french fries. They were very bland. We got the dirty fries. Well I did which had bacon and cheese and stuff on them. They could've done much better with the french fries. But other than that, the entire meal was except for the fries. I was not planning on hitting up this new place until much later and after the crazy lines had dropped. But things just worked out that we had some free time to stand in line for nearly an hour for some fish and chips. While standing in line they gave us samples of the Biscoff Shake. It was pretty good! And it was a perfect little sample and just right for the moment to keep me satisfied until we got to order. I ordered up a 3 piece fish with an add on of a chicken. The fish serving would have been more than enough for my appetite. I totally over ate to get the chicken in. I ordered tartar and cocktail as my sauces that would be included with the order. I wasn't really jazzed by the tartar, it seemed a little bland, but was better after I added a packet of malt vinegar directly to it. On the other hand the cocktail sauce was the best thing of the meal. Good balance and what I would expect. The fish was of course properly cooked and had a good amount of breading...maybe a little too much, because it kept sticking to my teeth, yet it was still delicious. The pricing was reasonable for current day fish and chips. The online prices were a little higher than what we paid, so maybe there was some sort of introductory pricing for the first month while they work out the kinks. The food was good. The crowd was big. If I find myself back in Gordon's I will probably try the shrimp and maybe the lobster. But I doubt I will be back. It's a great stop for tourists, but not really a repeat location when we have a number of other good fish places in Reno without all the hubbub. read more

We went on a Saturday around 1pm. The place is located on the second floor in the Silver Legacy Casino . The place is a good size with tables inside and outside. The ambiance is very loud because it's in a casino. The line is long went to the front door and took about 30 minutes to order. We ordered two boxes the 3 fish ($18) and the combo box of 2 lobster and 2 shrimp($21). Both boxes come with chips (fries). You get the sea salt chips for no additional cost but for an extra $5 you can get dirty chips. We got Dirty #2 which was garlic fries. With each box you get two sauces. We got the tarter, cocktail, sriracha and southwest. The Sriracha has a good bite and I preferred the southwest. The fish tasted okay, not as crunchy as I hoped and a bit small. The lobster was also small and tasted okay. But the shrimp was a good size, quite meaty and the best of all three. We both had Coke Zero and it was very foamy. The price was very high almost $55 for the two of us. For the amount of food and how it tasted I will not be coming back. I know that it's pricey because it's Gordon Ramsey. Check it out if you must but there are other places in Reno for better fish and chips. read more

When we arrived today,  I saw they had this new restaurant and it was like a breath of fresh air.   Ever since the pandemic, this place has been screaming for new restaurants and a major update.   This place was bright and well lit,  very inviting to people who walk by.  This place was super packed for lunchtime.   We let it die down a bit prior to coming back and placing our order.    The menu is super simple. If anything, I was overwhelmed with all the different sauces.   We placed 3 different orders,  so we were able to try them all.      We ordered: 1.  Build your box fish w/ Gordon's Tartar and Srirachi Aioli - The fish was flaky with a nice crispy batter.   The sauces paired perfectly with this.   The natural sea salt chips were amazing.  I tried the fish with malt vinegar.   I've always seen them eat this in shows.  Surprisingly,  it wasn't bad.   It helps balance out the saltiness. 2.  Build your box lobster and shrimp w/ southwest ranch and curry & mango.  The sauces didn't really do anything for me.  I stuck with the tartar sauce and Srirachi aioli.  The fried lobster was amazing and didn't lose its flavor with the batter. 3.  Fishwich - This was our favorite, and I highly recommend it.  I was expecting a sandwich, but this ended up being fish tacos but with Naan bread instead of a tortilla.   All the ingredients together were messy but tasted so fresh.  Words can't express the smile it puts on your face with the first bite. You don't need any additional sauces with this one.   What they placed on top was perfect.   4.  Sweet tea - it's sweet,  I wish I had asked for an Arnold Palmer.        The lady who took my order wasn't that helpful, and I just pretty much just figured out what to order on my own.     I do want to come back to try the sweets and the dirt fries.  I highly recommend this place.   I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews.   The place is clean,  there was a worker constantly cleaning up as people were leaving. read more

There was plenty of seating both inside the restaurant and on their "patio", allowing you to people watch. The staff were what I expected, not particularly friendly nor helpful. Just there to do a job. On to the food. Wanting to try something different I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster plate. I must say both the lobster and shrimp were quite good. I would say the shrimp was better than the lobster. The shrimp was big, crunchy and had a nice hearty texture to them. The lobster was firm but not tough, also with a great flavor. The Gordon Ramsay Tartar sauce was quite good. My wife had the standard "Fish and Chips". The fish looked light and flaky. I finally got to eat at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, and even though it was fast-casual, it was well worth the wait! With temperatures rising, we decided to escape the heat and check out Gordon Ramsay's new Fish & Chips restaurant at the Row. Inside, the place is decked out with bright, British-themed decor and plays British rock (though the speakers were slightly distorted) to set the mood. I ordered a fish and chips box ($17.99) with Mango Curry sauce and their tartar sauce. Since it was midweek and we're locals, I saved $3.60 using my Row Player's card. The service was impressively quick--I barely had time to get my drink, condiments, and utensils before they called my number. My meal arrived fresh, hot, and, best of all, not greasy at all. The coating on the fish was perfectly crispy without being greasy, and the fries were equally crisp. Both sauces were delicious, but I especially loved the Mango Curry. Prob the new best fast-casual option in the greater Reno-Tahoe area for good fast food fish & chips. The classic fish and chips combo is pretty great, at a similar-ish level to their Vegas location. For me, great fish need to have a crispy batter but don't feel heavy or oily, and the chips (fries) should be lightly crispy and fluffy but not a box of grease or cardboardy. The awesome: fish and chips with the tartar sauce, though as a former sorta-Londoner I like the vinegar pairing best for balance between grease and acidity. In retrospect if I wanted it lighter I shoulda asked for some more lemon slices to squeeze on the fish. The shrimp was surprisingly good as well, pair it with the cocktail dipping sauce! Lemonade and tea were great as well. Food and drink for two moderately hungry adults ended up being around $40, so not bad for good fish n chips. The ambiance was very fast-food-y and efficient and that's cool, I'm just here for the eats and don't need any service. The not-quite-clicking: wasn't the biggest fan of the dirty fries, too much going on and too heavy. The prompt for tipping was a li'l weird for what was basically fast food counter service, I'd likely just round it off next time if there's not table service. Went at 4pm on a Saturday and waited in line for about 45 min during opening weekend. Should hopefully balance out and be a good option for a high quality fast-food option going forward.
