I do not frequently give poor reviews... in my last forty-one reviews, I've only given less than five stars twice. But, yeah... here we are. Firstly, and most importantly, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the service. All staff was wonderful, patient as we ordered, as well as kind when we asked for an extra empty box so we could share our food easily. The atmosphere/environment was bright and clean, as expected with a new establishment in a tightly regulated casino. This review is based solely on the food. I'll cut right to the chase... Pray-tell, how can a man who has made a career yelling and screaming at people over the years for lack of seasoning (and/or other culinary mistakes) open a chain restaurant he expects to be successful when there is absolutely no seasoning on the fish OR in the batter? No salt. No pepper. No herbs. Nada. I've never had food before now that tasted like nothing. Actually... taro chip puffs taste the same... like air with a kiss of grease, but yet has texture. Yawn. Boring. You can have the exact same experience buying frozen fish at your local grocery store and baking it in your oven. Dear Team GR... It's a super cheap and easy fix to add salt and pepper to the fish or the batter. But being a chain restaurant backed by a mega-brand, I'm guessing that's not going to happen anytime soon. This lame experience has at least motivated me to find the best fish 'n chips in the area... so stay tuned... read more

You order at the register then pickup your order at the other end of the counter. I ordered the fish and chips. One of my pieces of fish had a large hard spot that was inedible. There were three very large pieces of fish and with the other two I had plenty to eat, otherwise I would have taken it back. The fish I did eat was tender and flaky and tasted good. All the hype about Gordon Ramsay and this place fell short of even living up to long John silvers. Should have walked out before ordering. Some Asian guy handling food and beverages was scratching himself then came to take our order. We requested he wash his hand which thoroughly seemed to piss him off. The fish was ok, a little greasy but manageable. The chips not too bad. The sauces were just plain nasty. Sat and patiently waited for food all the while the Asian guy started at us making comments we could just barely hear. I'll be honest. I stopped by because of the name brand but I wasn't getting my expectations up too much. Ordered the fish and chips box and the fishwich box and a shake which was enough for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids. I was very happy with the portion sizes. The fish was freshly deep fried and nice and crispy. The customer service was also great and the speed of getting our order was also good on a busy weekend. I will say that it was a little pricey at almost $50, but that just comes with the territory. I'm just glad I didn't order an individual box for all 4 of us. We'll be back in the future. read more

I've been hearing a lot of good things about this place, so I decided to try it! Went there on 2/24, I was there a little early, so I had to wait for it to open. I watched the worker cleaning the tables and putting the chairs down. I was the first one there along with another guy. Unfortunately, we had to wait a few minutes for the worker to get the cash registers ready for business......I would think that would be the first thing they should do! I ordered the lobster and shrimp and 2 sauces, the tartar sauce and mango curry sauce. I thought the mango curry sauce was amazing! I got my food to go, but sat down to try one of the shrimps! lol! The food came in a box with 2 holders for the sauce, which I thought was a great idea. It also included regular fries which I was pleasantly surprised. Overall of the food, was hot and fresh. Wow. I've waited to check this place out to let the staff get the kinks out and the crowd die down. It's a holiday weekend so there was a line and about a 7 minute wait for food after ordering. I tried the lobster and shrimp box, adding an extra piece of fish. The box comes with plain "chips"/fries but you have the option to dress them up with toppings and seasoning. I chose the 2 dipping sauces of tartar and cocktail sauce, both were good but not notable. The food came out well presented, hot and fresh. There were 3 medium sized pieces of lobster that were moist and really good. 2 medium sized shrimp, also good. The star of the show was the added on fish, so moist, fresh, firm but flakey. I saw several orders of the chicken, those portions were large as well. I will definitely be back for the fish and shrimp in the future. I'll admit, I walked into here more or less on a dare, and sort of wanting to rag on it a bit. But hey, I am glad to have been pleasantly surprised. Admittedly, I only went with a simple build-your-own-box selection to get the most straightforward experience I could. And while there are a few aspects of the menu, both products and prices, that make me raise an eyebrow, perhaps I'll try a few of their other fried foods, drinks, and desserts on a future visit. But all that said, I walked away with a fairly positive impression. My box consisted of three pieces of fish, a mound of chips, and two sauces for about $18 plus tax. This is maybe a bit pricier than other fish n' chips in town, but not by a lot. The fish pieces were maybe a bit small, but got a good amount of chips, and everything was RIGHT out of the fryer. The fish was actually quite excellent, hot and crispy, breading not too dense. The fries likewise were pretty good, though maybe could be a tad crispier, for my taste. The specialty sauces you get to choose from are, of course, meant to tick the boxes of trendy taste sensations you would expect from a celebrity chef. I chose the Dijon-Mayo, and the Mango-Curry sauce. The dijon barely tasted like anything more than mayonnaise. But I was honestly very surprised at how much I liked the mango-curry dip, as it was not overly sweet or fruity, and though honestly could stand to be a bit more curry-y, was altogether very nice. The spot in Silver Legacy is easy to find, festooned as it is with kitsch faux-Brit decor and the big picture of Gordon himself staring out at you. Plenty of seating in the space, and you can easily take your food to-go if you want to hit up some gaming or drink spots in the casino. But one big aspect I need to point out which solidly bumps up this spot's score is the staff. These guys were kicking serious butt, working quickly, turning out lots orders, and were all very friendly and courteous. MAJOR props to the crew here! So yeah, all told I think Mr. Ramsey's Franchised-Fish-with-Fries is a good spot if you want some solid casual food whilst in The Row. Well i have made it back here to try the rest of the entrees and as per promise, i have to boost the rating to 5 stars. I had the lobster and shrimp previously and it was good but the fishwiches are what put it over the top for me. These "sandwiches" are somewhere between a taco and a wrap. At first i didn't think it would be enough as you only get two fishwiches as opposed to three filets when it is just fish n chips. But the nann bread is very filling and i liked that it provided somewhat of a clean barrier when eating the fish as i didn't seem to get my fingers as sticky. Each fishwich had a generous helping of fish topped with an avocado and tomato relish. I added some tartar sauce to each and it was delicious. Now i will be in a quandry when i go there trying to decide between a wrap or classic fish n chips. As a side note and similar to first review, the staff were working non stop, and i counted 2 chefs and 4 assistants all out front together taking orders and preparing food. Me and my husband came here on Sundqy after the Reno river fest as I was craving some fish and chips! But it did not disappoint it was delicious! I got fish n and dirty fries #2 yummy craving it now again! I got a piece of chicken to try and OMG absolutely divine! My husband got the lobster and shrimp bit which he really enjoyed! First time trying this place out since it opened. The line was long but it moved fast. I wait about 15 minutes to get my food. I got the lobster (2) and shrimp (2) box and I added (1) fish. The lobster is breaded but still has the shell attached. I wasn't too fond of the breaded lobster. Out of all the "meats", the fish was the best in my opinion. It was fresh, white and flaky. The fries were alright. I was expecting steak cut fries because that's what usually gets served with other fish and chips. I also got the tartar sauce and the sriracha aioli for my two sauce selections. Both were tasty! The biscoff shake was $8.99 but worth it. It was very sweet but it was so good, we finished it before our food came. With the line extending to the door, we waited about 35 mins to order and another 15 mins for our food once we ordered. Staff were courteous and helpful when explaining the menu. We ordered the 3 fish box. The fish is battered perfectly. Light and crispy with the fish perfectly tender inside. The sauces are great. The tartar sauce is a fancier version of a regular tartar sauce. We tried a sample of the Biscoff shake which was SO good and tasted exactly like a Biscoff cookie in shake form.
