We are big fans of Gordon Ramsay Fish and Chips in Las Vegas, and we're so excited to see this open in Reno! The quality is just as good as the one in Las Vegas. Best fish and chips ever! We came here on a Friday night, the second night of their opening, and the line was long, but the staff were all working smoothly and efficiently. With the line extending to the door, we waited about 35 mins to order and another 15 mins for our food once we ordered. Staff were courteous and helpful when explaining the menu. We ordered the 3 fish box. The fish is battered perfectly. Light and crispy with the fish perfectly tender inside. The sauces are great. The tartar sauce is a fancier version of a regular tartar sauce. We tried a sample of the Biscoff shake which was SO good and tasted exactly like a Biscoff cookie in shake form. Underwhelming Disappointment I am a huge fan of Gordon and his restaurants, the Hell's Kitchen in South Lake Tahoe is amazing. As someone who enjoys fish and chips and has gotten it in many places across Europe, I had high hopes for this restaurant but it just misses on so many levels. I'll start off with the pros: the fish seemed fresh and the batter was light and crispy, the chips were also fresh and thick. We also enjoyed the biscoff milkshake. If I were to come back, I'd probably just order a milkshake and portion of chips. Negatives: The price. It is ok to charge high prices for excellent food that makes you want to keep coming back, but nearly 60$ for 2 fish boxes and 2 drinks is absurd, considering the food was not great. The batter on the fish was bland, taste was non existent and nothing resembled a true European "chippy" shop. The sauces were absolutely disgraceful. Southwest ranch? Siracha? I'd love to see Gordon pair his fish with these sauces. Seems like it is trying to appeal to both the European crowd, as well as American crowd, as well as a Hispanic crowd. I had the mango curry which was bland and too overcomplicated. Just do a simple, original curry sauce. I also tried the southwest ranch which made me want to vomit. Do a nice garlic mayo, a solid curry, throw in a classic brown sauce. Awful choices. In all, if you want a bland, flavorless, fish and chips with terrible sauce pairings while paying 2x the normal cost of a fish and chips meal, this is the place to go. If not, I suggest you overlook the name and go elsewhere. read more

I would love to present five stars to this location, but due to a mixup between our orders and not paying attention to details on the receipts that the servers have before they call out your number kind of put a damper on the experience. This location is located inside of, a casino so it does stay busy during hours of operation. It's almost like a choose two or three item type deal. You're choosing if you want shrimp or fish then you're choosing your main dipping sauces and then the type of fries that you want with your bill pretty simple you would think. There is a couple of high seating table and chairs and then a few standard style chairs and table to dine inside, but it still cost for a low capacity number of people allowed of the area if I had to choose on if I would eat here again due to the Experience of food choice that I had. Service is meh to okay, not good or exceptional. I got denied a local discount my first time trying this place because my players card didn't have a sticker on it- I provided my Reno Drivers License and she still wouldn't give me the local discount (Like, really? Why do you care that much?). There's places to sit and eat but the ambience isn't my cup of tea. Seating seems a bit scrunched together and sound travels a bit so it can get loud during peak hours. Overall, I like this place. The baskets are large enough to share if you're not starving. I especially enjoyed the chicken, and lobster. Being a fan of this man for years, it was no surprise that this restaurant had its act together. Everything in this place is just as it should be. Every detail thought out. Simplistic menu, but done with excellence. I tried everything. The lobster was very impressive, as were the shrimp. They were giant and succulent, and cooked to perfection. Just like the lobster was. And the fish was also perfect. I guess the only thing I would say I wish was different was I wish the fish was a little bigger. That's said, every single bite of this meal was scrumptious The french fries alone are worth the trip. If I could meet one personality. I would choose chef Ramsey.
