I am shocked at the overall rating for Gorgeous Nails. They have continued to be excellent since I started visiting them about a year ago. I moved to Hillsboro from Seattle last year, and our daughter recommended Tiffany and Gorgeous Nails for my pedicures. She has been terrific. Well, to start off with I went to go get eyelashes done at this salon. I've never been here before because my eyelash tech on Instagram wasn't available at the time so everything was going kinda all right until I saw the eyelashes they looked nothing like the picture I showed her to do they were straight eyelashes, not even curled, and they were so thin that they wouldn't come off my eyelashes when she tried the remover and immediately when she took the tape off, the eyelashes started stabbing me in the eye and I looked in the mirror and I said I can't pay for these like they're hurting me and so she went to take them off and she couldn't get them off for about 45 minutes and then she finally got most of them off but there's a few on left so she told me to go to the bathroom to wash my eyes, but I couldn't see out of my eyes cause the remover she used and the glue was all in my eyes and it was burning and my vision went blurry so she had to guide me to the bathroom and so I just started immediately washing my eyes with cold water. Nothing was helping. I even put soap inside my eyes to see if that would help and the soap didn't make a difference so I tried using this eyelash wash. She gave me to try and I kept using it over and over nothing was working not even the eyelash wash so I even tried putting the eyelash wash in my eye and that didn't work either so at this point, I was already in there for about another hour just washing my eyes well, at least trying to wash them I couldn't get them to stop hurting so I just dried my face off then left and now I'm at home and every time I blink it feels like there's something in my eye because of whatever remover she used and because of the eyelashes stabbing me in the eye after she was done with them so yeah, long story short don't ever go to this nail salon, especially if you wanna get your eyelashes done because you will walk out crying like I did read more

Popped in last minute. The fact that I didn't have to wait is the last and only positive part of this experience. Asked for dip manicure and they said yes so she began soaking my previous dip off. I picked my color and she brings out shellac. I told her no it's dip and she goes on about how they dip last. I've had my nails done for 20 years and NEVER but I was committed at this point. She soaks, files, soaks and wraps my nails again, files. ONE HOUR LATER and my nails are still wrapped in foil. I finally told her I would need to skip the paint job and just do a removal and cleanup. She continues to file, soak. Then she told me I was done. DONE and half the stuff is STILL on my nails. When I went to pay he said manicure and removal and I laughed. Dropped a $20 which is more than deserved and walked out. One star is too much for this place. NEVER again!!! read more

I was asked if I could go in about an hour before my appointment time and I said I couldn't, but I could be there 15 minutes before my appointment. I showed up early and it took about 20 minutes for Zina to see me. Not sure why they asked me to go in early if I was still seen 5 minutes past my original appointment time. She uses regular masking tape to keep your lashes down, which I thought was strange, but didn't mind since masking tape is thinner than the things typically used by lash techs to hold your lashes down. She applied the first lash and it burned extremely bad. I understand occasionally you might get a burning sensation, but starting off with that sensation right off the bat worried me. They don't have the hand fans to blow air, so Zina gave me a fan that weighed a couple pounds to hold. During that time, she answered the phone and didn't wash her hands before touching my eyes again. The majority of the time my eyes were burning. I've been lashed quite a few times before and have seen 6 other lash techs aside Zina and no one made my eyes burn this much. She also used a technique that no one had ever used before. It consisted of her pressing on my closed eyelid, which made my lash line turn up. I let her know it was uncomfortable because my eyeball was getting pressed on constantly but she said she wasn't pressing hard. Despite not pressing hard, having your eyeball pressed on for an hour is not comfortable. Usually lash techs isolate lashes and gently apply a fan, not press on your lids turn your lash line up. Getting lashed with other techs is usually so relaxing that I could fall asleep. Not once were my lashes brushed out and Zina told me not to wash or brush my lashes for maximum retention. I started losing lashes on the 3rd day and it was a clump that fell out, so I had a gap. After a week I had two noticeable gaps with no lashes on each eye. The lashes were itchy are itchy at times and as I kept losing lashes and seeing how the fans were applied I could see why. They were not attached on top of my lash, but randomly glued in whatever way she could get them. I found multiple clumps of lashes (both natural and fans) that were glued together. I left on vacation a day after getting lashed and was gone for a week, so I couldn't go back to get them fixed. On the 10th day, half of the area around my eye was extremely tender. The lashes did not look bad, I'll give her that, but it's not worth trying to save a few dollars and go through this experience. She was very nice, but should take another lashing course. read more

I've had good experiences before having nails done here, but the nail tech literally ripped the acrylic nails off my natural nails by shoving a long acrylic nail in between the natural nails and acrylic nails and then pulled them off. No soaking or filing with drill. It was painful and ruined my natural nails. Horrible experience. I could have done better at home. Certainly not a salon experience. I think the young nail tech was Tan or Lan. I would never let her touch my nails again. read more

I have been going to Gorgeous Nails since they opened over 20 years ago. They are a top notch salon. Zina, the owner, is a kind and giving person. During Covid Zina came in at 7 am to take care of her high risk clients. She goes above and beyond. She's an expert in her field. It saddened me when I saw this low review. I highly recommend them. Yes, they have a scheduling problem. It's been there forever. Just be honest when you call them and say you cannot be late and they need to be on time. It's worked for me. Not my favorite. First I walked in and got service right away. But then was sat in a chair for a pedicure and feet in water and sat for 25 minutes before someone helped me. Then she started and got up during doing my feet to do other things like clean up other areas? I am really confused by this, especially since others came after me and are already getting their pedicure and the shellac isn't even off my toes yet. I got here at 330, it's now 4 and my toenails have been cut and now the shellac from before is off and one of my feet is in cold water. Oh and no massage or anything. Cut my nails. Kind of used the thing to take the dead skin off. Hurriedly put on the clear layer before the shellac. The put the shellac on and done. My feet sat in cold water since it got cold waiting. Horrible experience, go elsewhere. I guess I got a kinda leg massage very last once nails were painted with shellac. But not like a massage I would normally get. Better than nothing. It is what it is. But at that point I was so over it and just wanted to go home. Been there for over an hour. I had been here previously but it's been years and I don't remember I being like this. The place I normally go I like way better and will keep going there I just thought since my husband was next door getting a quick haircut I would get a quick pedicure. It was anything but quick and I sat with my feet in cold water why he left to run errands while he waited for me. At least the hot wax at the end felt great on my cold feet! At some points it even kind of hurt. I will definitely stick to my normal place I love by Albertsons, Isse. It had been a good 4-5 years since I have been to Gorgeous and today showed me why. I would not recommend this salon. I went there on Sunday, and left with horribly crooked nails. The nails were also extremely thick, and were super bubbly in appearance along the top. Each nail was not straight from my finger, and the points of the coffin shape were not the same. The lady who did my manicure kept gluing her gloves to my nails, so every single acrylic was crooked and I could not get the left over glue off of my fingers. When I said I was concerned about them not being straight, she told me my fingers were crooked - which has never been a problem before... There was glue and gel paint all over my fingers when I left. Second time I tried this place. 1st time I had appt. w/ a friend and they made me wait over 45 minutes for the service (with appt.). Just now, I made appt. for 3:30 - they told me to come earlier if I could. I got there about 3:25 and they didn't get started on my pedicure until after 3:50. The gal couldn't understand me, I asked her for a stronger massage and she never changed the strength. I asked for something to drink and they never brought anything (I asked twice). However, the service is less to be desired, as the nail tech rushed through the pedicure and continued with the service without checking in and asking how short nails should be filed, etc. I came right before closing, so expected some rush in service. Regardless, but wish have liked the nail techs to communicate what I would prefer before digging into my cuticles. The color selection is great and they also have dip powder. The prices here are typical, but they charge extra $3 for nail file and for shellac removal. Would give 0 stars if I could. I called 10 minutes before to ask if they could remove my acrylics, they said they were available. Got there & told me to wait a few minutes. I had to wait 30 minutes. I decided last minute to get gel manicure. After she did a mediocre job of removing my acrylics, she asked me if I had a nail filer. I thought she meant at home so I said yes. She asked me where? and I said oh no I don't have one with me. Then, she told me I needed to purchase a nail filer for the manicure. I always have my nails done and i've never ever been to a nail solon that requires me to bring my own filer or buy one from them. I'd highly recommend not coming here. I've given it a few tries because it's close to my office, but the experience is worse every time. I decided to give it a try for dip nails, which in my experience are a bit harder to mess up, and sure enough they weren't good. My cuticles weren't cleaned up much at all (as you can see), one nail looks like it has a completely different color, and they started using the table fans instead of the machines to try your nails and my technician touched my nail before it was wet and wiped a ton of it off and tried to hide it before I could see it (but I did), and she fixed it and then did the same thing again. By the time the nail was "fixed" and dried it was over 2 hours and $45+ tip and they just simply don't look good. I've gone here twice for an express pedicure. VISIT ONE: the price on their website was $25, but the manager (I assume) kept saying, "No, we changed it to $28" but as a matter of principle, I kept saying No, you have to honor the price you post, and I ended up paying that. Note: I prefer an Express pedicure as I do not want someone who is not a licensed massage therapist painfully rubbing my shins, where there is no muscle, or having hot wax treatments that have no long term ( I mean more than 30 minutes!) benefits. Also, I picked the color off their plastic sample slates, and the color turned out very dull. I think they gave me a gel color without gel light. VISIT TWO: Again, walking in with no appointment and asked for Express Pedicure. The woman who worked on me CUT the skin on the side of my second toe and it hurt like hell. She said nothing and held a cotton ball to it for about 3 mintes, until it stopped bleeding. She hurts me several more times which made me think this was her first time giving someone a pedicure. Aldo, I have a hurt knee that doesn't bend and told the first gal that filled the pedi spa about my née, and how the seat had to be back far enough to stretch my leg out. Well, the lady that did my pedicure moved my seat up while I was yelling at her to STOP!. She did not speak any English whatsoever which normally doesn't bother me but come to think of it they should be able to help someone they hurt, and if they cannot understand me, what are they doing there in the first place? This is the first time in my life I did not tip. It just felt wrong not to tip, but also much more wrong to tip someone for hurting me! They did good on the pedicure the manicure is too thick, high up on the sides of my fingers, they did not file under my nails after adding acrylic, and WTH this is the first salon I've ever been to that doesn't massage and put lotion on hands and arms. 1. Denise is great. She is professional, obviously licensed, and good at what she does. My friend, who I was treating to a pedicure, got her. 2. Un named greasy-haired emo-Asian-sadist girl is not so great, in attitude or skill. She showed up late, with a "GO CLIMB A CACTUS" shirt atop some polka-dotted jammy pants. She started cutting my cuticles with alacrity, and I had to look down to see if she was doing it Edward-Scissor-Hand-Style as I yanked my foot back in pain. She progressed to cutting my toenails (CROOKEDLY, Rounding ONE of the corners on my big toe- setting me up for an ingrown toenail). Then she started with the file, raking it across the top of my foot, and I'm guessing she was reminiscing about a fast violin song she tried out once upon a time- she was staring off to the left. I relaxed as it came time for the oil leg massage, but she was apparently discussing the characters of her favorite zombie show with her neighbor, and forgot to even look my way as she gouged her thumb between my shin bone and calf muscle, up and down, over and over. I began to envision that I must remind her of doing laundry on a washboard in a dirty pond, because her attitude and body language indicated that rubbing my leg must be similar. I attempted to redirect her after my shin went numb, but she kept going, apparently letting our language barrier apply to non-verbal communication as well. Finally, we got to the part with the nail polish, and after she painted the toes on one foot (without base coat, when did they stop using base coat?), I decided that I hated the color (TOTALLY not her fault and I told her so). I asked if it would be alright to get a different color, and she agreed, but then viciously took the nail polish off. So angrily that my friend incredulously asked if this was a joke, or if she really was violently attacking the polish on my toes. I got up to pick another color to find that my sadist emo-Asian friend was gone. Leaving me there to stew on how much time I had left before I had to leave. This is when Denise, who was done with my friend's perfectly pedicured toes, came over and finished painting my nails. Denise saved the day, and this rating. Bottom line, this place is great, depending on the tech you get. Also, this place is great, depending on if you want the emo/sadist experience or a relaxing pedicure with a friend. I'll be back, but Emo-Sadist-Girl is not touching me ever again. read more

If you plan on waiting an hour to an hour and a half when they tell you to come at a certain time, then this is the place for you!! They heard people like cattle with no one to do the work. People don't have all day to wait around on staff to get done. When they tell you they'll be right with you, plan on waiting at least an hour. When you finally get seen, they hurry and make mistakes, I've been cut, my real nail has been ground down to the flesh because they were not paying attention. Made an appointment and waited nearly an hour after being seated at a pedicure station, as they asked multiple times to "wait just a little bit". And I wasn't the only one with an appointment who was running at least 30 minutes behind. Was so frustrated that I ended up walking out. If you're unable to honor appointments within a reasonable period, then please be respectful of others and don't waste time they cannot get back. We booked online for a $15 child pedicure w design and a $20 Express adult pedicure. Never got the confirmation email back from them so called to be sure we were good. Yes they said so we went. They did a good job, but when we went to pay they said it was $53!!! I said no it shows on your website the pricing and it should have been $35!? They said no our prices went up!? $18!!?? PPE shouldn't be that much if that was the reason for the upcharge during Covid. We literally soaked our feet, trimmed and got painted for $53!? They never said a thing about there prices being raised and had no idea they would charge us an extra $18 for this service! I have been a client here for years. Earlier this week I called and made an appointment for Wednesday afternoon. They were very busy when I arrived and I checked in. After waiting 10 minutes, I asked how much longer I would have to wait for my appointment. "15 minutes". Okay. Several more people came in and they were accommodated. I waited for another 15 minutes then asked again. "Somebody will be right with you." After another 5 minutes, I asked AGAIN! "Sit over here. Someone will be right with you." After 5 more minutes, I left. I made an APPOINTMENT and they did not make any attempt to accommodate me. This is the SECOND time I have waited over 1/2 hour when I have made an appointment. NEVER. I've been here several times due to it's proximity to my gym and Costco. I wish I was joking. But all jokes aside I think this is a pretty standard joint with average prices to get your nails done at. They are quick to check you in and have a large selection of shellac nail polishes.
