Daryn was AWESOME. I moved 16 hours from Chicago and the plan was to move myself. I thought I just needed help putting stuff into the 22' truck. Daryn was super responsive and gave me tons of things to consider as I embarked on this move. I found him extremely responsive and easy to work with. I have heard nightmares of this industry with people getting stood up or having their items packed carelessly. That was not the case the Daryn and his crew. They took the time to wrap up and protect all of my furniture. They came ready with supplies that I didn't have and their main focus was protecting my items during this long distance move. They were not trying to make money on tape, shrink wrap or straps... they just wanted it done right. I was super impressed with their professionalism and hard work. If they took a break for water - Daryn would let me know that he was "giving the guys a 5 min break" and took the time off the clock. He didn't have to do that but that is how professional his crew is. Having the owner working along side of the the 2 other guys was something that I don't think you see often. Daryn was working as hard as the other guys and they all have worked together for years. The loading went smooth and we even had room to spare in the back of the truck! When I got to my new house.... the experience that I had with another moving company was not even comparable. The crew never showed up and I had to call the company 3 times until 2 guys (not 3 that I paid for showed up.) One guy was experienced but a college kid, the other person it was his 2nd day on the job. These guys scratched walls, were sloppy with their work and just haphazardly put stuff in rooms. Boxes marked kitchen were in the garage and master bedroom items were in the office.... I can't recommend them any higher - they were true professionals that care about their work. They truly have made me a believer that there are honest and caring people in this industry full of fake movers. Daryn told me that he would help me move if I ever needed his help again - just buy him a plane ticket and he will help me move wherever I am in the US! First things first...these are the real deal movers! I started with a simple search for movers and came across Gorilla Moving on a whim. I was looking for a company who actually knew how to move a 500# safe. We have had movers in the past who came unprepared and almost killed them selves and my husband. Even professional safe moving companies who charge an arm and leg! When I called Darin, he reassured me that it would be no issue and my husband who absolutely not have to help. I was hesitant to say the least. We have had the safe moved multiple times and my husband always helps in the end. Darin was correct! He showed up with the proper equipment and his crew had it out the door with no damage in minutes! Working with Darin and his crew kept us in the loop every step of the way. We asked a million questions and had a more detailed move. We had some items going into Pods, to our office across town, and then an apartment. They managed to read our tags and not screw it up! Darin called a few days before to confirm the move. He called when he was in his was and then showed up early! We got a truck right from him for the easy factor. Truck showed up minutes behind. He took a quick walk through and informed us he could fit everything into one Pod. Again, my husband and I were like no way! He did it...with room to spare! This alone is going to save us $1000's in storage fee's! Darin and his crew are true movers. He talked a big game and he had every right too! These guys were unreal and super professional. What can I say? We hired them based on the reviews and they did not disappoint. We had a huge sectional couch that wouldn't fit in the elevator and no way through our front door. Daryn was magnanimous enough to drop by and assess the situation since he was close by and confirmed that it would have to be hoisted up three stories and over our balcony. He has a friendly but very professional way about him that inspires confidence. He was very clear about his Bona fides like insurance and bonds etc. He quoted a reasonable price and we had no reservations about taking him up on it. They arrived on time and made short work of a small job that nonetheless appeared pretty daunting. They hustled like nobody's business but were appropriately careful and very thorough with preparation, wrapping etc. They were efficient but very friendly. The X factor with these guys is that they actually like what they do and have fun with it. It was ten am but I felt like we should crack some beers or something. These guys have a rare enthusiasm. Would have tipped them but we didn't anticipate it and didn't have any cash left. We recently moved from Chicago to TN which was a substantial move. Daryn was absolutely the best. He looked for ways to save us time and money by coming in early and packing non-essential items. We ordered some new furniture which was not scheduled to arrive until after the move and it ended up coming in early. Daryn's initial estimate of course did not include the extra furniture (20 pieces of patio furniture, sofa, sectional, etc.). He figured out a way to get it all on 2 two trucks with meticulous packing and also at the last minute had to purchase a 6X12 trailer to tow to get the last of it in. He even delayed the driving of the trucks so he could pick up the couches from the furniture warehouse. Truly I cannot recommend him enough. His crew is kind and polite and they were extremely careful with some family antiques that we have as well. It was truly an awesome move from start to finish and I can't say enough great things about Daryn and his team ---you won't go wrong if you hire them! I have had some hard times in the past 3 years and Daryn at Gorilla Moving Company has made it SO much better! He's reasonable, honest, hard working, dependable, accommodating, efficient and just an all around nice guy. The first (1) time he moved me I was packing up all my belongings and putting them in storage because I didn't have a job and couldn't afford an apt. He wrapped up the furniture so it wouldn't get ruined and placed everything in the space brilliantly. A year later (2) he moved part of my stuff from storage into a small studio. And now I've got a job and moved again (3) into a two bedroom. He moved it all; the things I had in storage, then made a stop at the studio apt., the whole time making great suggestions. I needed movers last minute on the week of the 4th of July. I worked with Daryn and he was flexible and able to accommodate our every need next day! Daryn and his crew were amazing! They were on time, professional, knowledgeable, strategic, and well prepared to handle the move that we requested. They did such an incredible job that I even hired them for a 2nd move the next day at our new house. There was even an unexpected AC emergency that occurred at the house and Daryn and his crew addressed it immediately like it was there own house informing us what to do and how to counteract it. Awesome movers and would definitely recommend. Most impressive part was how well they packed the trucks.
