Really a bad and embarrassing experience here. Set up a dinner for 17 people and spend almost $3800. I ordered 18 sides, 3 of each type for the table. Only 3 of the 18 sides were delivered. I asked the server what happened and he told me they were delivered to another table. We were the only big table there so some poor 4 top must have received our 15 other side orders. He said they would have them right out. 15 minutes later they still were not out and everyone finished their entrees. We finished up and I received no apology, no manager came over. I asked to speak to a manager and 10 minutes later someone comes out and says they were just informed regarding what happened and offered their apology. Then they took 15 minutes to bring me the check. When the check came I found several issues. I ordered bottles of wine for the table and the server decided to provide us several other bottles. At the end of the evening, I asked who ordered them, as they were still half or more full and he said he did this to save us money. Really? When presenting the check the manager said they didnt charge me for the sides...really? The ones we didn't get? He gave us what equated to about a 4% discount. We ordered for delivery while staying at a residence inn in fort worth. We ended up eating at the pool (in October!) while the kids swam. It was a nice break from quartine and allowed us to be safe but still have a nice dinner. We ordered oysters, lamb belly dumplings and toad in the hole salad. I appreciate anywhere that will deliver raw oysters safely and they did and they were delicious! The lamb belly dumplings we re a bit of a let down we love lamb, love dumplings, they were good but not anything all that unique. The toad in the hole was a shocking favorite. The rich bread, bacon, egg and bright salad is so rich but balanced and bright. What a great idea! I will probably try to make this home. I chose the summer squash carpaccio as the first, beef as my entree, and cheesecake for dessert, with the corn risotto as a second course. Everything was stellar (my favorite dish was the risotto) and the wine pairings were well worth it. We discovered a few new wines that we loved! Our waitress Rebecca was fabulous, and treated us well from the moment we sat down. She did a great job of engaging us, anticipating our needs, and had a wonderful and bubbly personality. This is across the street from my fav hotel (The Ashton) and how I've never been here before is a mystery. Great atmosphere, wait staff and sommelier were amazing. 900 wines to choose from. Menu was awesome, but so was the bar menu and dessert menu! I wanted a lighter dinner so got a cheese selection and the Prawns. Both were amazing. Kristen and I decided to go out of 2020 with a bang on New Years Eve. And considering we were in bed by 10, it was important we made our reservation for, Owner Dain "Adam" Jones "GRACE" restaurant in the downtown area of Fort Worth early in the evening. Along with Fort Worth Texas Magazines "Top Chef-2012", Executive Chef Blaine Staniford, Chef De Cuisine Graeme Seawell and the rest of the top-notch staff of Grace deliver an exquisite dining experience that is to be embraced... and often. We were greeted at the door, a few minutes early for our reservation, and they had already had our table ready. We were escorted to our seats and were able to check our coats and begin our drink order immediately. We were promptly greeted by a very knowledgeable waitstaff that was able to quickly hone in on our pallets and were able to make recommendations for everything from cocktails to our appetizer. We were presented with one of their omni-available sommeliers letting us know that they would be happy to pair any of their extensive list of available wines with each course of our meal. We decided that we would just have some of their house specialized cocktails with our meals throughout. We began our evening with their lamb belly dumplings. Though we were initially apprehensive because of past experiences with "gamier" cuts of lamb, we were delighted by the absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared dumplings that had a great savory flavor completely removing any of our earlier prejudgments. The Szechuan peppercorn and black vinegar sauce had an almost addictive umami hoisin-esque quality. Our waiter came by and was "wait! Lemme get you some bread for that... trust me." He was dead on. Between the bread and the dumplings, we made sure to not to send so much as a morsel of the appetizer back with the plate. Spot on! For our second course, we split their "Toad in a hole" salad. We were glad to have split it, and they happily accommodated our request, because it was a large salad. This would have been a meal of its own for a filling lunch. The frissèe based salad with shaved asparagus, bacon and the black truffle vinaigrette was wonderful, but the star of the show was the organic egg inside a lightly grilled brioche. There was certainly no lack of talent in preparation. The egg was perfectly cooked allowing the yoke to mix with the other components of the dish lending to a delightful experience. For our main course, Kristen ordered the 6oz 44 Farms filet "Oscar Style" topped with lump crab cake, asparagus and a bèarnaise sauce. Considering I had about a week to study the menu before our arrival, my order was a little more... purposeful. I ordered the 8oz filet mignon topped with a butter poached main lobster with a black truffle butter and with the cognac peppercorn marrow on the side. I could use words like "delicious" or "heavenly". Or even more descriptive words like "juicy" and "savory" with a touch of "sweetness" to describe every bite of our meal, but I figure if you are reading this at this point, you've seen a Food Network show once or twice and know that I am probably inadequately describing this "to die for" meal. Trust me on this. I don't have the words. We rounded out the evening by sharing their butterscotch pudding with salted caramel gelato. The combination of the marcona almond crumble, gelato, and caramel combined with each bite was a perfect balance of savory and sweetness with an almost java undertone. We were delighted to where we didn't even need an after dinner coffee. Admittedly this was not our first encounter with the quality, finish, and polish of one of Adam Jones venues. We were happy to see the continuity in service and quality we first experienced at the "Little Red Wasp" affectionately referred to as the "little sister" of Grace. Grace has been expertly executed and has certainly poised itself as a step above. Great job to everyone... but I certainly want to give the wait staff one more kudo! read more

Amazing service began the minute we walked in the door. We commented that if we had known how awesome our table was (corner booth in front of the gorgeous wine room) we would have specifically requested it, the hostess said "I'll make sure to put that in your notes!" The tasting menu with wine pairings this past Sunday was incredible, and I wish I could remember our server's name because he made all the difference! I'm a foodie (more of an enthusiast than aficionado) who often avoids tasting menus that seem fussy and intimidating, worried I won't like at least one ingredient in each impossibly complex bite sized course, but our server was so friendly and knowledgeable that I wasn't hesitant to try it at all, and very glad I did! He engaged us in the nuances of each course using language that you don't have to be a Michelin critic to understand, and his enthusiasm about everything from mackerel to duck ham (?!) and their wine compliments totally changed my mind about trying things that normally I'd never pick off a menu. First off I have a high respect for Happy Baggett-- May he Rest In Peace . Women and wine in the past has been a disappointment and I kept going but now it's a 2020 New Years resolution to really stay away . There are so many wineries in Fort Worth. In the past it's been so crowded that the service was very very slow . For $10 you had 3 half wines and three appetizer pairings. Now it's faster but two wines and 2 pairings . Before tonight the last time I've gone the other two ladies and myself has such horrible service that the manager gave us a free women and wine to come back . I've lost the card so I blew it off ... Another time before that it was a charity event . In particular I was interested because this charity will provide housing or hotels to parents whose children are sick so that those parents did not have to worry about lodging in top of everything else with their child . The only thing Grace did for that was have a box that you could place a donation to . It was very passive . If you didn't know about the charity even the boxes would easily be overlooked. Also I was sitting at the bar and lifted my hand several times to order . After 10 minutes of this I screamed out some to get attention. The bartender scolded me for that . Why couldn't they have once asked me if I wanted to order and why couldn't they see me holding my hand up for that amount of time . Tonight a friend wanted to go and I " thought " ok it's been awhile let's give it a shot . I simply asked the waitress of it's your birthday month is there a dessert for that ?? In the past that was done for someone I knew at the bar ... the owner ( forgive me for his name but he's bald ) cane to my table in a defensive manner ... " you're the one who wants a birthday dessert ?" I replied I didn't think it hurt to ask ... he said , " if you want to book a table here I can do that for you " I said no thank you it's no problem and mentioned that some places do this and that the bar did that in the past . His behavior was so condescending. A simple " no " we don't I'm sorry would have sufficed . I've been to capitol grill and didn't even ask for anything. Only bought appetizers and asked for one piece of cake for my friends birthday. They brought it out with candles and helped us to take pictures . Taverna just did that for my friend to go and it was a creme brulette ( sp) to go and we were at the bar at a happy hour . If Grace would have said " I'm sorry we don't " that's one thing but to feel treated less than from one of the owners caused me to make the resolution to say goodbye. Sorry I asked . We shared and had the smoked potatoes (so interesting, smoky and creamy) a filet (so tender and perfectly cooked) a lobster tail (fresh, sweet, delicious) and the lobster pasta (this was my favorite. The pasta was tender, the breadcrumbs added crunch and the butter sauce was slightly sweet and rich and just so good) we shared the tart for dinner which was chocolates and creamy and caramelly.
