Good Italian restaurant! Stopped by here with a friend after hours of pumpkin and apple picking and I'm so glad we did. We sat at the bar and were served by the cutest waiter with blue eyes added bonus! We ordered a pie half nofo and half Jamesport. They cooked it in a wood fired oven and it tasted fresh and delicious. It was just big enough to share between two people. We also ordered the burrata which came with prosciutto drizzled with balsamic. Another great dish. We left there completely full and satisfied. There was even a waiter there who sang so well that you thought you were in the middle of Venice on a gondola ride. Def recommend for a nice lunch or dinner if you're in the area. Just beware the restaurant closes between 4 and 5pm for dinner. However if you're seated before 4pm, they let you stay for as long as you'd like read more

Good pizza! My friends and I come down frequently because one of my friends has a beach house in the area, but this is the first time I stopped in. We came right before the dinner rush so we were able to be squeezed in and seated as long as we finished before the next reservation arrived which was nice of them to allow us to do because we were starving. We ordered two pizzas to share, a wild mushroom and a regular, and they were very good. My favorite was the mushroom one. The place is small, but the vibes were nice. I used to love grana. I just went back and I feel like something changed. I don't know if it was because the usually pizza guy wasn't there, or what, but my favorite pizza, the Gorgonzola with fig, was just not how I remembered it. There was so much mozzarella on the pizza that I couldn't taste the Gorgonzola. Unfortunately, I was here for lunch, so I couldn't try the pasta. Hopefully they stayed the same. They have the best homemade pasta. The Bolognese is our go to. It's incredible. I also love that they sell local wine and have peroni on tap. This restaurant has a really nice feel. Grana had great food, service and ambiance. Get a reservation. We tried to walk up on Thursday night and they were full so we made a reservation on Friday and it was worth it. Brett our server was amazing and so kind. We really loves the lobster pasta dish with crispy shrimp. Easily the best dish on the menu. Merry e also enjoyed our appetizers. We had zucchini fritters that melted in our mouth and artichoke hearts. The octopus dish was good but couldn't hold a candle to our other dishes. Recommend the eggplant served under homemade pasta. Also ravioli ouovo The fusilli with octopus was tasty but octopus was rubbery. Try North Fork beer. My son liked it a lot. Nice place but sitting outside can be trying as the road is heavily trafficked. Inside not much better as acoustic problems exist there as well. There is a singing waiter. Great fun. Nice service. Needing some carbs after sampling some wine, Grana offered delicious-looking pizza in a cozy setting. Saturday afternoon and was able to secure the last table inside to get away from the heat. Between the two of us, ordered the Chef's Meatballs ($18), the Marinara Pizza ($10) with added onions (+$3), and a beer ($6). Meatballs are considerably large and are drenched with marinara sauce and a sprinkling of cheese. A bit disappointed it doesn't come with any bread to soak up the sauce...no matter. The meat itself is fine, but the sauce is watery. Felt like the chunks stayed up with the meatball and the juice collected at the bottom. Not a fan. For the pizza, parts of the crust looked burnt to a crisp while others looked like it didn't hit a flame at all. Cheese/marinara are uneven on the dish and they forgot the onions! Waitress said she'd tell the kitchen to make a new one, but we don't like wasting food. Figured it would be fine with a side of marinara sauce. The cup of sauce looks thin and watery, so decided not to use it. Overall underwhelmed with the food and experience. It seems like this spot had a bad day - we noticed other people's pizzas had the same issues as ours. The thin sauce was the real downer here. I LOVE a good thin crust brick oven pizza. In fact, no matter where I am, if I see it on the menu I feel obligated to get it. This too has been a place that my boyfriend has been dying to take me. We went on a Saturday night & were happy that when we got there all the tables were taken however a few were finishing up and having their checked paid. We waited at the door for a good 10 minutes without ANY acknowledgment. No "well be right with you". No "Give us a few minutes for a table". Nothing. After a table left, we were pointed to a table. Ok, so the other reviews were right. The service is terrible. But I came for the pizza! I ordered the Grana and added prosciutto. And my boyfriend ordered the special Artichoke and local spinach. Personally I LOVED the flavor of mine - although a little salty that was probably my fault for the addition of the prosciutto. My boyfriend had has the Spinach pizza before and said that it was definitely not as good as it was the first time. The one thing that we both agreed on, and I see coincides with most of the other reviews; the center of the pizza was soggy. The pizza wasn't able to be picked up. If you claim to fame is your Brick Oven Pizza, I would suggest having it on point. Overall, service needs better management for sure. And the food - eh. Sadly, I wouldn't go back nor recommend it at this time. Too bad, I REALLY wanted to love this place. read more

With all the stellar reviews, the exciting pizza menu, the prices to match the great atmosphere, I'd think the pie would be fantastic. I was wrong, it was good and fine but dry and the clams in the pie I got were chewy. I wasn't crazy impressed with either pie but for the style, they are good. I am in no dire need though, to rush to return and spend a butt load of money for what you get. However I do want to give it another try and update the review (hopefully positively) read more

What a great pizza find in the quietness of Long Island. After a long day of apple picking we needed a place to satisfy our hunger and Grana was one of the most popular locations we saw in the area. The pizza here is so good it can rival that of NYC. This is probably one of Long islands best kept pizza paradises. The pizza here is made fresh and it is topped with the freshest ingredients. My gf and I ordered the grana pie: white pizza with mozzarella, Parmesan shavings, garlic and arugula. It was delicious. Very thing center crust with a chewy outer crust. The flavor was great. Salty Parmesan contracting with creamy mozzarella and peppery arugula. Just perfection. The restaurant isn't huge but it makes you feel welcomed. The staff is friendly and they seat you quickly although it was getting busy around 4pm. Just be sure you come in before 5 bc the restaurant transitions to dinner around that time. read more

This is probably my all time favorite Italian Restauraunt on Long Island. Grana uses only the best ingredients and the freshest ones too because you can taste the freshness in every bite. The food is handmade, nothing frozen. The pasta tastes just like the pasta in Italy and if they have the filet mignon, you HAVE to get it. I am getting hungry just typing this review. The filet mignon is literally the best steak I have ever had, oh my gosh. Better than those 5 star steak houses (in my opinion) and you don't even need to season the steak! The salad is great and so fresh and you have to try their raspberry vinaigrette. For lunch I recommend the Grana pizza because it is out of this world! For a tip, when you get the Grana pizza, order some raspberry vinaigrette on the side and pour it on the pizza (the best!) I can go on and on about this place, but I would never stop! First time in Grana yesterday afternoon. We were out east, looking for a place for lunch. Google pointed out a few places and we selected this simply because it was close. Lucky us. A great looking place, comfortable with lots of character - lots of old school woodwork and a wall of really bold and colorful artwork. The waitress was friendly and helpful. The food I had a meatball parm panini. The best panini I've ever eaten. It looked massive when they brought it over and I figured I'd take half of it home. It didn't turn out that way. I scarfed it down like I hadn't eaten in a week (which was not the case). Yeah, it was that good. 10 out of 10 for that panini. My wife had a salad with chicken and artichoke. She said it was great. To top it all off, great music - a bit of Italia - Dean Martin, Pat Cooper etc. and it really added to the vibe. The only thing I missed was a bit of Louie Prima and Keely Smith. So - delicious food, priced just right, good size portions and all in a cozy place with ambience and a very nice staff. We will be going back for sure. read more

Grana is a small, but a cute and delicious Italian restaurant. We were a party of 7 and not the easiest, but our waiter Chris was exceptional and had an amazing personality. He fit right in. The appetizers were really good, but the stuffed artichokes are not really stuffed so that was disappointing. My entree the Uovo di Ravioli was amazing. I'm only giving 4 stars because this place has no espresso and barely any alcohol cocktail options due to a lack of bar staff. Went back to Grana for dinner after a recent take out of an artisanal pizza which was great. It was even better as a dining experience. It was busy on a Saturday evening but we were seated pretty quickly with no reservation. The waitress was very good and offered menu suggestions that were spot on. We started with a pepper and goat cheese bruschetta which was two large pieces of crusty bread with a thin layer of goat cheese with bits of roasted peppers on top. Very nice. We also had a fresh mootz, tomato and basil starter which turned out to be an entire fresh mootz ball sliced in three huge pieces, a huge, meaty tomato also sliced in big thick slabs, and the basil on top, of course. This is a large starter portion which was easily good for two (and maybe three or maybe four). For the meal we shared the fig, caramelized onion, aged mootz and gorgonzola cream pizza. Wow! Savory and sweet in perfect harmony. All of the above was paired with the waitress's suggested, Mattebella Vineyards red from the North Fork. Lastly, the waitress once again hit the mark with her suggestion of a carrot cake which was excellent, again huge and sharable for two. Coffee was freshly made for us and was a mild French or Italian roast. Perfect. Espresso was also had and it was a large (at least double) shot. I wish Grana "Long Life" and hope to eat there many more times during North Fork excursions in the future. read more

5 well earned stars - bravo!!! We came to the North Fork for our annual winter wine touring weekend, and were recommended Grana for dinner by someone who worked at a neighboring winery. We were over the moon about our experience. We made a reservation, and thank goodness we did because when we arrived at 7:15p (Sunday night of President's Day Weekend) there was a sign on the door that said no reservations! We were promptly seated in this small restaurant that overall felt very local and jovial, but there were some out of towners like ourselves who were warmly welcomed. By 7:15pm the restaurant had already ran out of a lot of dishes, which was OK because we didn't have much of an appetite after wine (and cheese) tasting for most of the day. The menu is very interesting, and I have a feeling you can't go wrong with any selection. Because we were eating light, we ordered a house salad with chicken, and a pasta dish. All of their pastas are made in-house. We ordered the Uovo di Ravioli, which was essentially two GIANT MASSIVE ravioli stuffed with ricotta, spinach, and egg yolk, and garnished with brown butter, pancetta sauce, black truffle carpaccio, and parmigiano. Incredible. Somehow all of those unique flavors came together beautifully, and is a dish I could never recreate at home. The waiters were great. At one point one of the waiter started signing Happy Birthday opera style, and then later on the entire restaurant was singing a verse from Take Me Home, Country Roads led by the same waiter. It made for an awesome ambiance and experience - completely unexpected in this quaint little town. We're 100% adding Grana to our standard list of restaurants on the North Fork, and are coming with a MUCH bigger appetite next time! read more

The best artichoke salad I have ever had in my life. Absolutely outstanding! Who knew arugula could be so tasty and NOT bitter??? I would drive TWO hours back to Jamestown just for that salad alone! Incredible food, friendly staff, and a comfortable cute restaurant. Called last minute for a table of two Sunday night and they were able to seat us right on time. Our waiter, Brett was very friendly and made suggestions when we couldn't decide. Everything we ordered was delicious. People came in very late for their reservation (after the restaurant had closed) and the staff was so friendly and let them still sit and get food. Everyone there was welcoming and professional. After a day at wineries we stopped here to soak up the alcohol. Best idea ever, the staff there was absolutely awesome. We were the only two there and they made us feel like we were sitting at their kitchen table at home. The bar tender was the best, talked to us the entire time and had us in stitches laughing. And the food was delicious....so good that when I brought it home for left overs everyone was asking where it was from and can we get some more. They have around 10 pizzas on the menu, some classics and sole unique ones. Pretty hard to choose. Well crafted, the dough is thin, not too stretchy, not too dough-y with right amount if chewyness. The cheese mix is right on and the tomatoe sauce well balanced. Ingredients are local farm to table type goods !
