The covered outdoor patio was busy but very well spaced and cool with an unsuspected breeze. Many salad options to choose from (definitely coming back for the warm mushroom salad) but went with the classic tuna salad salad and was very pleased. Cold, fresh, flavorful and a beautiful presentation... didn't even need dressing. I am a snob for iced tea and THE TEA ALONE was just as freshly brewed as it could be. So happy to find this cafe. My friend and I had such a great time here. I recently moved to Hollywood, right on Stirling and I pass Grand Cafe every day on my way home. The curiosity finally drew me in and I asked my friend to meet me here for breakfast and I was not disappointed at all. My friend arrived about 20 minutes before I did and was offered coffee and not bothered much as he waited. When I arrived the server walked over with a huge smile and asked me if I'd like something to drink as I looked over the menu. I got my usual, double espresso with steamed milk on the side, very basic but not everyone gets it right. She did. As I looked over the menu I couldn't make up my mind, everything looked so great. There are pictures on the menu of the food and my mouth was watering before I got through the first page! I ordered a dish that was composed of a grilled cheese and smoked salmon sandwich with two eggs on top, accompanied by a garden salad. It was to die for! The salmon was cooked perfectly to about medium temperature, very juicy and flavorful. The salad was good too, I personally really like salads that included corn as this one did. The portion was big I was able to take half of my sandwich home to enjoy later. As a "breakfast dessert" we ordered French toast. It came with a side of fruit and delightfully breaded in what we identified as cornflake crumbs. The bread itself was so soft, warm and fresh tasting, a great contrast to the crunchy outer layer and paired perfectly with the warm maple syrup they served on the side. I cannot wait until my next visit! I already have a mental wish list of the various dishes I need to try here. So happy to find a place I love so close to home. The service definitely elevated the experience, we sat there for almost two hours chatting and enjoying our food, not once feeling rushed or pushed out by the server. Don't believe the hype; the food here is overpriced, unseasoned and vastly underwhelming. Save yourself the trouble and try something else down the road. I had the Española Breakfast... sounds flavorful and exotic, right? WRONG! The most delicious element of this plate were the mushrooms. Let that sink in... mushroom was the star of the show in the Española Breakfast! The second-best part of the plate was the salt I added after cringing down a few bland bites. Aside from that, the only other memorable thing here was the uncooked egg slime that sat atop my sunny-side-up. Final thought and personal pet peeve: double check to make sure a 20% tip wasn't auto-added on your bill. I have zero issue with a 20% tip; however, don't keep that nugget of info quiet and then hand me a POS device sitting on the screen for me to unknowingly add a second tip. Bad form. read more

But today our waitress was so good. As I checked in on Yelp I was able to get a free coffee and It was any coffee I did remember they have a killer cappuccino so that's what I had. Large cup of rich coffee, milk with some kind a fancy design. We ordered Sharshuka a delicious dish of eggs sunny side up, slowly roasted in a spicy tomato sauce with bell peppers served with pita bread. OMG this is so yummy! We also ordered Sabich plate which is eggplant, hard boiled egg, hummus , vegetables, pickles and pita bread. Nice appetizer plate to go with your meal. Came here to eat lunch and the food was just as good as I remembered. The ahi tuna tacos were really flavorful and fresh. We also went with an order of Parmesan truffle fries that were enough to share for a large group. We went with the large breakfast platter for our main and it was large indeed as if case with several small dips/toppings for our toast. Once again all of the food tasted extremely fresh. We came in the first time because we were looking for a comfortable place to eat after we flew in from Fort Lauderdale Airport. I love grand cafe and have been coming here for years. The pricing is a little expensive but I think it's well worth it. The service is great and the way they handled government restrictions were very professional as well. Side note: I wish they were more consistent with one certain dish which is the penne Alfredo with salmon. Sometimes it's super creamy and cheesy and sometimes it seems like they just put salt on the noodles. I've been on the hunt for new coffee houses as I need places to do some work outside of the house. Anywhere with FREE WiFi and caffeine will do. Pulling up, it looks like the shopping plaza is about to fall apart - except for this shop in the corner with bright yellow umbrellas. It looks so out of place here. I ordered an iced mocha - and while it was alright there were some strange things with it. First it was served hot, then poured over ice. I've never had a hot-iced mocha? The ice melted almost instantly. Also, the coffee had a distinct taste. Was that...white chocolate? I'm actually not sure if I liked it or not - it was a bit sweeter than I am used to, but this unique taste had me intrigued - just can't put my finger on it. Secondly, the staff wasn't necessarily rude to me, but certainly not nice nor welcoming. They were cold (like I wish my coffee was) and really seemed more interested in talking to their co-workers than attending the customers. Then the real kicker - they have an open kitchen and apparently someone in the kitchen overcooked/burned something and the entire area flooded with a horrible burnt smell. For lunch, hubby had the shakshuka (it was ok) and I got the croque Madame. In no way does it resemble the French version I am used to-- theirs had smoked salmon, capers, sunny side up eggs, etc. However, Grand Cafe's version was delicious and well made. Went great with the side salad that is included and I would definitely return for this. Inside ambiance isn't amazing but seating is adequate and staff is awesome. It's a bit pricey-- it'd be perfect if it was like $2-$4 less for all of the entrees. To be fair, the ingredients seem to be of quality and everything about our experience was great so I will give this place 4 stars. This place is called a cafe but offers the variety of food often you'd see at a diner. Nice atmosphere- can sit outside. Service is friendly and polite, while not horribly fast but that is ok. Food is delicious!! House potatoes are seasoned and cooked well with a nice crispy skin; eggs were done exactly as ordered; the bread is fresh and warm!
