A Hidden Gem. It's nice to find a good Indian food spot. The Staff here were super attentive and polite. The Food was excellent. Today I tried there 14.99 lunch buffet and let me tell you it's well worth the price point. The selection is not reminiscent of your typical buffet crammed with tons of mediocre dishes. It's more of just a few meat and meat alternatives dishes, along with a few sides and desert but the Quality was differently A+. We also tried a vegetarian dish with potato dumplings, onion and lentils (I think) in an ground almond gravy (don't remember the name). Glad to see a new Indian place, the food is awesome it is clean and the people are relatively friendly. The service is slow but it seems to me that they are mostly an event center with a restaurant attached so not that big a deal. It's well lit and the ambiance is nice. Met my parents for lunch today at Five Rivers Indian Restaurant in Riverside (on Indiana near Tyler), and their food is some of the best I've ever tasted. Their chicken tikka masala is absolutely to die for (if you're vegetarian, the paneer masala is fantastic as well, as is the bhindi channa), the basmati rice was perfectly cooked, and the naan was everything it should be - crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Everything we tasted was delicious, and the food was beautifully presented. The prices were reasonable and the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and attractive, and the only disappointing thing was that we were the only people there. Went for their unlimited dosa special. They do give you the regular size dosa, so hard to eat more then one. Mehdu vada, dessert and madras filter coffee/tea is included as well. The food was ok. Mysore dosa was not spicy and very little masala was in it. Also the coffee needs to be stronger. The dessert was very good though. I would recommend giving smaller dosas so that people can try the different ones if you really want to make this offer on Wednesdays successful. read more

My family and I went for dinner at this restaurant last night and were completely blown away by the yummy food. We ordered the idli Sambar for the kids and they loved it . It was not spicy and was perfect for their liking. Next up we had Masala fish - tilapia fry with a crispy crunchy coating. It was super yum. We also had Chikken Tandoori - the chicken was so tender and flavorful. Finally we had garlic naan with Amaravati chicken curry . The garlic naan was crispy and buttery, absolute perfection. I have no words for the chicken curry, it was just too good. The food was so good i actually forgot to take pics of it which is a first All in all , this was the best and authentic Indian food I have had in Riverside county which is why I decided to write this review to help my friends find this place. First visit to 5 Rivers Cuisine of India after a referral from a trusted friend who enjoys Indian cuisine. Located in a strip mall off busy Indiana St in Riverside, there is adequate parking in front and a short walk inside greets you with an expansive and airy venue in light colors. The dining area is spotless and the dining tables and chairs are of high quality. The friendly staff greets you and shows you to your table, takes your beverage order and allows time to peruse the extensive offerings on the menu. As it was lunchtime, we opted for the lunch buffet which at $14.99 seemed like a good choice. We went to the buffet area, grabbed a shiny clean plate and began choosing our lunch items. I started with Butter Chicken in it's traditional bright orange sauce as well as the Curry Chicken in it's more spicy brown sauce. We ordered some garlic Naan at $1.00 additional as well as our favorite Mango Lassi at $4.99 to wash it all down with. The buffet was good as far as it went and a good value for the amount charged, however the overall buffet options were somewhat fewer than we have seen at comparable Indian restaurants. Conspicuously missing from the buffet were traditional Indian yellow Tumeric rice, Tandoori Chicken and anything Paneer-based. The dessert choices were also slim with no Gajar ka Halwa carrots which I love and is a staple item at most Indian restaurants as is Gulab Jamun which was also nowhere to be seen. A visit to the restrooms revealed some thorough cleaning was in order and represented the opposite condition from the sparkling clean dining and buffet areas. This restaurant has a sizeable banquet room adjacent to the dining area that can easily accommodate a large gathering. It can be rented by itself without food being provided, or with anything normally offered on their menu. Overall, four very generous stars for 5 Rivers Cuisine of India (in reality, 3.5). Increase the buffet selection, clean the restrooms often and five stars is within easy reach. read more

Since Punjab Palace closed down, my husband and I often wondered where we would go to get our Indian food craving satiated and one day I looked up indian food on yelp and this placed popped up and we were overjoyed! We did take out and ordered regular chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, garlic naan, and aloo paratha (I think?). The food was absolutely divine and even way better than Punjab Palace! I would love to visit the buffet to get the opportunity to try other dishes but we are so happy that this place opened up. I just wish the garlic naan was extra garlicky! The chicken in both dishes were very tender and the sauces were extremely delicious. We also ordered the tamarind, mint, spicy mango chutney.
