    Thai tea

Service & Ambiance (5/5): We were the only patrons for most of our dinner in a very narrow but brightly lit, clean, and welcoming establishment. I ordered the Thai tea which was presented in a jumbo glass that was almost double the size of your usual glass! The fun large bendy straw was great. We had a hard time picking among all the choices. The dishes were all presented with a lovely presentation too! Roti with massaman curry (5/5): The roti was out of this world--very crunchy and great on its own. The massaman was delicious but my only suggestion was that the curry was too thin for it to be accompanied with the roti. We used the leftovers and dumped into rice, which was perfect. Pad Pred Normai (5/5): The dish was heavily portioned with bamboo shoots, peppers, and plentiful of seasoning. It was spicy, as spice lovers, neither of us found it too spicy! Duck with Sweet Basil Sauce (4/5): I really liked the sauce but it was a bit too salty. The duck and the sauce flavors reminded me of other Chinese food dishes. Everything was food with lots of flavor. The duck was juicy, skin was crunchy, and the taste was marinated through.

If you're anything like me, you're always on the lookout for that next go-to spot for comforting, flavorful food -- and I just found mine : Grata Thai Restaurant. From the first bite to the last sip, experience the bold, authentic flavors of Thailand at @gratathai_nyc. Tucked away on the East Side of Midtown, Grata Thai serves up everything you love about Thai cuisine : bold spices, fresh herbs, and that perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. I enjoyed everything that I ordered. Thai food is my comfort food. We loved meeting the chef and he made some great recommendations to us. The service was excellent and it's such a cute no frill Thai food spot. We tried the softshell crab salad. Also the roti with Masa, curry and curry puffs for the main course. We had pineapple fried rice and amazing glass noodles with shrimp. This food was delicious and hit all the right spots. We also had their Thai iced tea and coconut juice.

this review is a little over a month late. They had great reviews so I walked in after a long walk to order takeout and ordered the $17 pineapple fried rice w/ tofu as the protein and added vegetables for additional cost (she confirmed with me on the screen as well when she pressed it) but there were 0 veggies as you can see. + a few pieces of flavorless tofu. + 6 or so total chunks of pineapple. abysmal. like, wildly disappointing. I didn't even save money by ordering a lunch special since I was craving the PFR... + $2.50 for their basic bottled water. Minimal flavor in the rice, whole dish was average at best. Worst part was the experience (and the reason for 1 vs 3 stars) -- i ordered it to-go since I planned on taking most of it home and just wanted a quick bite. The woman handed me the bag as it came out of the kitchen. She told me to have a good day and that's when I mentioned that I was actually gonna sit down for a sec to eat before heading out (with the takeout packaging ready to go)! Restaurant only had 1 other person inside if it matters. She got mad at that, and told me how I wasn't allowed to eat it inside since I purchased it "to go". Like... the meal that just came out of their kitchen, packaged by them, was for some reason not allowed to be eaten at their restaurant. HAHAHA. She argued about it with me for a second. Maybe it's because she knew once I sat down and opened it, I'd see how badly it was lacking. Or they're just really odd and like losing business due to arbitrary reasons. I've made it a practice this year to only tip for takeout at places I've been to before -- so glad they didn't see an extra cent out of me. go somewhere that appreciates your business!!

Was craving Thai food on my New York trip and came across this cozy Thai restaurant. The staff was so friendly and very accommodating to our requests. We tried a variety of Thai appetizers and entrees and everything was so delicous. I especially loved the crispy duck salad and the duck over rice. The crispy duck salad was sweet spicy and sour, the perfect combination of Thai dish and left an amazing umami taste after every bite. The duck over rice was so good because of that amazing homemade Thai duck sauce. The sauce was so flavorful, I drenched the rice and duck to make one of the best duck dishes I have tried. If you are in NYC and craving Thai food, you definitely need to stop by!

Thai cuisine has always been my weakness but Grata absolutely blown me away! Their secret sauce elevates EVERY SINGLE DISH! Most Thai restaurant's duck dishes are on the drier side but Grata was able to overcome that. In addition, pair it with their secret sauce, you get hooked instantly. I confess! I'm an addict now! I honestly cannot believe how tasty this hidden gem is. So good that I want to gatekeep them all to myself! Their desserts and amazing too! This is a ABSOLUTE MUST VISIT!

    Papaya Salad ($12)
    Risa H.

My pickup order was ready right on time - I ordered the Papaya Salad ($12) and the Green Curry Lunch with chicken ($15.95), which comes with an appetizer. The food was good - I thought the lunch portions were a bit small in my opinion; I wonder if the regular portions are bigger for only $2 more? I asked for both my dishes to be extra spicy and it was only mildly spicy. They did fill the small to go container with lots of chicken and veggies, but I would have liked more of the green curry sauce with it. Both the soup and rice container were the extra small portions. Overall an okay spot for Thai food!

    Massaman Curry
    Harry W.

First visit to this neighborhood restaurant, really enjoyed the food, the Massaman Curry was among the best I have had, the curry had the complexity that you would expect in a highly rated restaurant, the desserts were amazing, the batter enveloping the green tea ice cream was similar to that found in dessert dim sum. Kay and Bea (the chef) were both very nice! Definitely plan to visit again. Recently returned for another dinner, had the roast duck in a red curry, the duck was perfectly cooked, as might be found in a French bistro, with crispy skin and succulent meat served on top of the curry, definitely on the reorder list!

Food was really good and pretty fast See pics. My favorite was the Crispy Pork belly and Chinese brocolli... pork belly stayed crispy and the brocolli thinly and evenly sliced so it tender and not over cooked. The Pad See Eew was a close 2nd .. excellent too. The other dishes were also very well done except for the Drunken noodles which was solid but didn't compare as well to the Pad See Eew. Highly recommend this place .. one of the best Thai place in the neighborhood

Yum! For a quick lunch spot this place is perfect! It's not too expensive and it was delicious. We got it delivered so we can't say much about the service but it was ready within 15 minutes! My coworker got the pad Thai and paid around $20, I got tofu, spring rolls, and a side of rice for $18. Overall a great place to go for lunch or dinner!

Good lunch special with spicy chicken and vegetables w a choice of appetizer such as soups or a spring roll. It's reasonably priced and they play good music. Pretty flowers and relaxing atmosphere too. Phet is a great waitress.

    Green Curry tofu
    Kathryn W.

Had dinner at the restaurant and was allowed to choose where to sit. The space is small, like a single hallway, but comfortable. I ordered the tofu green curry which came with rice and had tofu, eggplant, peppers, basil, and bamboo shoots. I got medium spicy, which had a reasonable kick that allows you to enjoy the flavor and spice together. It was delicious and the service was great! nice small neighborhood spot.

We walked into a modern atmosphere with a mix of bar seating, high tops, and traditional tables, the kind of place that works comfortably for anything from a casual lunch to a longer dinner experience. The room had a polished, energetic feel with a layout that accommodated both quick stops and more leisurely meals, and the open kitchen added a layer of engagement as we watched the dishes being prepared. The ramen is the main attraction, with rich and flavorful broths that showcase a lot of depth. We ordered a few bowls and found the tonkotsu ramen standing out with its creamy, savory broth, the porkiness coming through clearly without being overly heavy. The tan tan ramen offered a nice balance of spice and nuttiness, with a broth that had a subtle heat and a sesame undertone that lingered after each bite. Beyond ramen, the menu had plenty of options worth exploring, including pork belly, sticky ribs, bao, duck tacos, and sushi selections, each dish arriving well assembled and thoughtfully prepared. The pork belly was tender and well charred, and the duck tacos offered a rich, savory contrast to the lighter ramen bowls. The lunch sets were also a good way to try multiple items while keeping the meal more approachable. The service was one of the highlights of the experience, with the staff being attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Their recommendations helped guide the meal, and the overall hospitality added to the quality of the visit. The restaurant has a polished atmosphere that feels more like a full dining experience rather than a quick ramen stop. The team moved through the room with efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the experience smooth without feeling rushed. Overall, Momosan Ramen & Sake is a great option for those looking for ramen with a more refined touch. While the pricing is higher than a traditional ramen shop, the combination of quality ingredients, creative dishes, and atmosphere makes it a worthwhile place to visit for a more complete Japanese dining experience.

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. The Ahi Tuna was the perfect and proper color it should be. The flavors were SPECTACULAR-WONDERFUL!!! NOTE: WAGAMAMA has added to their menu, since my last visit, so you now have a RAMEN SELECTION, and other yummy additions. I was too full from my spectacular Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl to try the Korean bbq Chicken Wings ($8.95) but, I will definitely be back to try them!! I'll post menu photos so you have an idea of the delicious food choices. (April 2026) My very first delicious bite of Ahi Tuna had a heavenly garlic flavor, it was wonderful, and the sweet green seaweed with rice only added to the wonderfulness. Vertical slices of cucumber, onion and scallion, also add deliciously to my wonderful Poke Bowl. Toasted sesame seeds, too. SIMPLY MARVELOUS!!! Remember to be sure to mix the poke bowl rice as you eat, so that you mix the rice with the yummy sauce that may accumulate at the bottom of the poke bowl. I usually eat a little while, THEN, mix the rice. This was so good, I had to eat, eat, eat, before I could stop to mix. LOL. That sweet green seaweed was so yummy!! A lovely mix of flavors...the garlic, the sweetness....I LOVED IT ALL SO MUCH!!!! When was the last time you enjoyed a dish so very much that you felt like standing up in the restaurant and telling everyone: THIS IS SOOO DELICIOUS!!!! Well, I felt like that, but I didn't stand up and tell everyone, but I did tell the manager, who happen to come to the table to ask how everything was. And I let him know how much I was enjoying the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. He explained why and how the tuna was so flavorful. We had a delightful brief foodie chat. What a joy!! The service is very nice here. I like the atmosphere too. And the music, which is cool; it does not interfere with thinking, or having a conversation. I really like it here . The women's rest room was very nice, and clean, with a Dyson Hand Dryer, so no paper towels on the floor. Yay! Helping our environment, too!! And I like the black and white wall paper, too. See my photos My last visit I enjoyed the Pad Thai, and the same non-alcoholic beverage, " Asian Mint Limeade", from the MINDFUL DRINKS area on the beverage menu. ($9.50) (April 2026). A nice treat! It does have a light carbonation (bubbles). This visit my delicious meal was from the BOWLS SECTION of the food menu, it was the AHI TUNA POKE BOWL ($17.95) (April 2026) With warm, and hot weather on the way, I know I will be enjoying this AHI TUNA POKE BOWL again...and again! I remembered i liked my experience going to one in London in 2024 and decided to go. I love how attentive the wait staff are, a little too attentive. A waitress, she had long hair and a nose ring, approached me when I was just glancing her way during eating. I didn't need anything, but I appreciate the favor. That same waitress gave me my receipt too early like she wanted me to leave ASAP. This was right before I asked to look at the desserts after I finished my meal. A "Would you like some dessert?" would have be appreciated. Cedrick, my principal waiter, was phenomenal. He decided to take care of me after no one was at the hosting desk for 5 minutes after I arrived. I had the chicken potsticker ramen and it was delicious! The potsticker was seasoned very well: my favorite part. To drink, I had the Asian Arnold Palmer and it was a cute drink! Only downside is the sweetness was not even distributed through the drink, even after I mixed the drink. Even though I had an issue with the service, I saw how caring they were (he looked like a manager now) to a family that came after me with organizing their seats and getting a baby chair. I just wished they gave me the same respect instead of rushing me out the door.

We were guided toward the back, past white marble tables with beautiful mustard colored velvet chairs to the long countertop facing the open kitchen. We scanned QR codes to pull up the menu, and despite no omakase noodle offerings to be found, decided to stay because the menu options they did have sounded too good to pass up. Of course they had classic shio and miso ramens, but they also had a duck tsukumen, a red snapper ramen, a black truffle ramen, and the dish I set my sights on-- the uni mazemen. There were also lots of appetizers and a long list of high end onigiri featuring proteins like scallop lemon shio, A5 wagyu ponzu, and bluefin chutoro on offer. This place was the real deal. Our group shared the tebasaki wings-- so crispy and so flavorful, I could have inhaled a whole plate of these. The salmon, ikura, and apple appetizer that was served in a glass chalice was superb but even better was the bluefin tuna avocado sashimi with wasabi. That one was a winner across the board. And then my uni mazemen, which really stole the show. There was a very generous portion of uni that mixed with the savory sauce and al dente ramen noodles perfectly. This dish was rich, unctuous, and fresh and definitely delivered in value, though it was double the price of most other noodle bowls. Uni is a delicacy. Having just returned from a second trip to Japan I can say this place is really as good as any restaurant I visited in Japan, and it's right here in Murray Hill. These Murray Hill bros are lucky.
