    505. Shredded Pork in Garlic Sauce
    luc l.

I always rate restaurants by the food, not the ambience, service. And look if they messed up your delivery...everyone makes mistakes, I give them the benefit of the doubt. But I'm giving Ollies a 3 even tho food wise it should be a 4.5 (at least the dishes I go for) They do a lot of good Chinese American classics well. The fried rice is good and the pork spareribs are exactly how I like them, BUT they are so skimpy on the portions. I pay for extra protein and it's less meat than the cheap places that have the same dishes for half the price. Take a look at my pork with garlic sauce where I paid for extra protein. It's pretty crazy that they're just stuffed the dish with the filler vegetables to save money. This happens all the time w Ollie's and I'm going to stop ordering from them as soon as I find a replacement.

Not exactly the typical hole in the wall Americanized Chinese Food spot, but similar. Ollie's serves all the classic American Chinese food dishes that you may want and other dishes that you don't typically find at those spots like Szechuan popcorn chicken and Americanized ramen. The interior is also quite nice and bright with two big tables for seating and window side counter top seating if needed. Service is quite fast and the workers are nice.

Very friendly! Fresh egg roll but all cabbage and bland; fresh shrimp dumplings but all but sized and bland. Meeeh!!! SOoooo disappointing. Egg roll fried very well though.

Was craving some Cantonese bbq pork, but unfortunately Ollie's did not hit! The rice was like school lunch cafeteria type rice, the book Chou was fine, but the pork didn't have much flavor, and at parts was dry. The portion was pretty large. Unfortunately cannot recommend or return.

Ordered delivery for the beef lo mein and it was pretty standard. Nothing crazy, but it did satisfy my cravings for Chinese food for dinner. The portions are pretty big. I'm interested to try their other items like the fried rice because it seems like a popular choice. The service was quick and enjoyed how efficient the whole process was. In terms of ambiance, not really too sure because I got delivery. Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: N/A

My favorite menu item. The shrimp spring rolls. They brought me back for a second try.

Ollies is more of a carry out spot than a dine in. There are a few tables and counter seats. It's a decent cheap eat. Lots of choices on the menu from sushi to ramen to Chinese. It's a solid 3 1/2 stars. Thus far my favorite item is the shrimp spring rolls. The fried rice and egg drop soup were good but not great. They lacked flavor to me.

One of the best takeout spots in UES. Pricier than other places but worth it for the quality.

Was with family - in the moment and enjoying so I have no photos, sadly. Their alcohol menu consists of beer and wine. Tsing tao and Sauvignon blanc were our drinks of choice - as they were out of both options of sake. To eat - we had a little of everything - the wonton soup, veggie dumplings, pork soup dumplings, the ribs, braised beef noodles, the eggplant dish and ones of the fish. Everything was absolutely delish and the service was quick. They were also out of the dessert we wanted - the green tea cheesecake but we had the pumpkin dessert which was phenomenal! It came out hot and had red bean paste in the middle! Absolutely delicious. Took off one star because there were a couple of things we requested that were unavailable but aside from that the food was delicious and the service was great! Definitely check them out - there are multi locations in the city!

The restaurant itself is clean and well lit--a great place to stop by for a good, hearty meal. We ordered the Lanzhou Beef Noodle and Pork Hamburger. I really enjoyed both dishes. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the beef was delicious. I will say that I wish the broth had more flavor, but it did feel light and clean. The pork hamburger came with a good amount of meat, which I appreciated. It was super juicy and flavorful. The service was quick and attentive, and I felt that the prices were reasonable. The restaurant is near my friend's place. The place was exactly what we were looking for... Inexpensive, cozy and comfortable atmosphere! The place was a little busy, and didn't take reservations, but we were seated immediately. Amazing service and delicious food! The food was fresh and came out fast. Portions are generous, so you definitely won't leave hungry. My favorite dish was the Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup, which was delicious and flavorful, and also gluten free, dairy free and soy free. Others had something else I had no interest in to remember the name. Their menu has many options to offer, including gluten free, soy free, and dairy free options. We would come back again and highly recommend you check out this place if you are in Murray Hill Manhattan. My only complaint was that I noticed a male staff member leave the restroom without flushing the toilet, which took away from an otherwise positive dining experience.

The beef soup is clear and light and the noodles have a delightful texture, with a slight chew and good bounce. There's a good portion of braised beef as well. Tender but a bit fatty for my taste, but given the portion it's not going to kill you. Lamb burger ended up as overkill and will be consumed as leftovers but a quick sampling let me know that it's gamey and fatty with strong notes of cumin. Not a bad thing, but something to note for people that might not generally enjoy lamb or cumin. Black pepper beef rice bowl was solid too. Spice wise, you can calibrate accordingly but I'd recommended at least their regular spice level. Decent amount of tenderized but still chewy beef. Both dishes came with a salad of celery, carrot, cucumber, peanuts and seaweed strips in a light sauce. Couldn't quite figure out the sauce but it was lightly tart and refreshing. Space is clean and modern. Neutral wood, well lit. Service is friendly enough. If you dine in, you order at the kiosk and they'll deliver to your table. We had leftovers that they graciously packed up. Solid choice. I hope they stick around as they do bring a different cuisine to the area.

I love to bring my children when not crazy crowded so they can also enjoy one of the best ramen restaurants in the world. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I haven't found better yet. Summer soupless ramen with perfectly chewy noodles and slightly spicy sauce is a great addition. The vegan ban ban kinoko as well as its chicken version are great also during summer. The maguro is delicious but I don't find it as satisfying as the noodles. Mind spiciness level for the younglings. In the winter, the spicy tantan or Tokyo ramen always hit the spot. Fish bun has been improved slightly over the years but thank ramen-sama, it is always as messy to eat as the first time I tried it 7 years ago. Desserts are surprisingly delicious.
