This place is cute, nice outdoor seating. The house dog is just the cutest. However the tasting prices compared to the others on our tour were a little pricey. Plus $6 a glass, but only $12 for a bottle, you are always better off getting a bottle. The place seemed to be a little understaffed due to the weather on Saturday and the tables outside were over flowing with empty wine glasses that others left. The wine was okay, but nothing spectacular. We only bought a bottle because we were having lunch there. We came as part of a fruitful vine tour, and this winery was our stop for lunch. The pizzas and paninis they offered were good, but pretty overpriced for what they were (12.50 for a personal size pizza). The woman who was taking the orders for the lunch was pretty rude. She kept telling people to sit down instead of standing in line to make an order, saying that they would come to the tables to take orders, but in the hour we were there, I never saw her go to any tables to take orders. She was really overwhelmed for what seemed like an average Saturday afternoon crowd and took her frustrations out on the customers. read more

The only problem with Gravity is that their wine doesn't really taste that great without the food pairings. As someone who doesn't like to taste their wine with food this was a turn off for me. I do like the idea of flights though, although $10 is a tad pricey. read more

This was a new winery for my friends and I to visit. Definitely has a bit more edgey feel than any of the other Michigan Wineries. And the set up is totally different. Instead of purchasing a 6-7 wine tasting for $5 as seems to be standard in the area, here you pay $10 and you get a slightly bigger pour of four wines with either a cheese or chocolate pairing. And it's all served to you on a little square tray that you can then take with you outside and sit in a nicely shaded area overlooking the pond. Not a bad set up and gets you off your feet after standing at other wine bars all day. I didn't love the wine and the cheese and chocolate are miniscule but I did like it quite alot and it breaks up the monotony of same old same old when you're doing a marathon tour of Michigan Wine Country. read more

1 1/2 years ago I gave Gravity a 5 star rating. So sorry that I have to change it. Went there this weekend. Everything that made it a standout from other wineries is gone. No more little crackers and cheese. No more individual glasses that you can drink at your leisure. I get the fact that some folks want to know more about the wines. Let them ask questions but don't do a complete change for all. And there's a very limited selection of wines to choose from. Very sad and disappointed. read more

Our favorite Southwest Michigan winery to visit! They serve cheese selections with white wine tastes and chocolates with the red - how perfect is that! they are also located at the top of a little hill that overlooks the vines and a little lake. This place looked awesome from the second we pulled up. The owners' dog Ollie was greeting the busses and just looked so cute. We were ushered into their "wedding tent" for our tasting, as was 1 other group. They also provide little plates of crackers and that was the only place that did that for us. The tasting went well, the servers were friendly and it was cool to be outside and right next to the vineyard. We then headed inside for a bathroom break and went out to the patio. It was a gorgeous day and we would have liked to sit longer and do some drinking out there but we had to make our next stop on our wine tour. I don't care what the movie Sideways says, I still like Merlot and Gravity's Merlot is excellent. To me Gravity is what the SW Michigan wine touring experience should be all about, it's fun and doesn't take itself too seriously. I guess you could say Gravity is "grounded" (see what I did there?) What separates them from the other winery's in the area is the food pairing, it definitely adds something to the wines. Some of the other reviewers complained about the $10 tasting tag, but they give you big pours and it comes with food. Honestly, if you can't swing $10, wine probably isn't the hobby for you. The red haired women. who I assume is the manager or owner went out of her way to greet customers at the door and talk to many of the customers to make sure they were happy. You can tell Gravity understands what makes a small local winery work and I hope they have success moving forward. Visited Gravity today for the first time. It was super busy because it was Halloween weekend but the staff was super friendly and very attentive. We had the wine pairing which included your choice of four wines and four very small servings of a selection of crackers and cheese for the price of $11.00. We sat outside on the patio which overlooked a lake. Considering how busy it was, we enjoyed out pairing overlooking the beautiful scenery without ever feeling rushed. Their wines are very affordable and discounts happen with the more you buy. We will definitely be back. read more

One star for the wine (it's a winery after all). I couldn't even finish any of them. The cheese and crackers were meh ... the cheese cubes reminded me of those you can find at a cheap grocery store ... but I guess it was on par with the quality of the wine. The person pouring the wine was clearly running down a memorized script and trying very hard to hit all the points. The outdoor space does deserve 5 stars though. It's covered and overlooks a nice, secluded private lake. Oh, and at $13 a tasting this was also the most expensive tasting of the day. I would definitely not go here. Btw, I was initially fooled to come here for a cider tasting ... but the cider was not an option in a tasting and you could only choose to order one by the glass. read more

Just discovered Gravity today. What a nice find and great concept for wine tasting. No rush and no need to stand. Take your 4 choices to a table and relax and enjoy your selections along with the pairings - cheese for whites and homemade chocolate for red. The only suggestion would be some water to cleanse the palate between tastings since the chocolate can influence the taste of the reds. Purchased the Theory and the Lemberger. Yummy! read more

I went here last fall and fell in love with this place. The wine was good and the patio and view picturesque. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. After leaving we said this place would be our first choice for our next visit. Flash forward to my spring trip and bringing a friend to have the same great experience I had the first time. I have to say....what a huge disappointment. The staff that was there was not friendly and welcoming like last time. My party ended up buying two cases of wine plus some bottles and spent about $400. The person ringing us up didn't know what she was doing and overcharged us. The bad thing is she charged my debit card then credited it and then charged again. Now I have to wait to have my money released from the bank which can be inconvenient. As we were leaving I asked for a cracker or a piece of cheese to take my medication. They wouldn't give it to me. They looked at each other like I was asking to rob the place. Sorry I asked but most tasting rooms have a cracker for you. She did tell me I could purchase something. Gee thanks for the hospitality after spending all that money. We all walked out and said " Guess we won't be coming back here". Save yourself the trouble. There are so many other places in the area so avoiding Gravity shouldn't be hard!! read more

I went here with a bachelorette party this past weekend and was shocked by the treatment we received. One of the girls in our group is paralyzed down the left side of her body and speaks slower. Leslie accused her of being too drunk and refused to serve her. This obviously made her very upset and the rest of the group upset for her. I went up to the bar and explained to her my friend's disability. She went back into the kitchen and never returned. The assistant manager came up to us and tried to remediate the situation. He apologized for the server's actions, served my friend, and did not charge her for the tasting. At this point, none of us wanted to finish our tastings and we just wanted to leave. As we were leaving, the owner approached us to apologize and gave us a few bottles of champagne. While I appreciate them trying to fix the situation, we will not be returning. read more

I felt like this place was the epitome of basic girl wine heaven- a cute wine bar with an AMAZING patio and grounds, great wine, and an adorable dog wandering around looking for snacks (Pro tip- have snacks if you want any attention from Ollie!)... I just loved it! No shame in my game! This place gets super busy but we were here early enough to snag a table. I would reach out to them to ask about reservations if you have a big group. This is a popular bachelorette party stop , so there were lots of groups of girls there drinking (my group included). This winery was awesome! My husband and I checked it out during our first anniversary trip. The decor inside was very stylish and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, they don't offer tastings and you have to buy flights though. However, we tried all eight wines they had by getting one "white" flight and one "red" flight which are paired with chocolates and cheese. Though we would not have ordered a flight originally, I'm glad we did. It enabled us to have enjoy more of the wine and pair it with some delicious food. The live entertainment outside was great too, as was the scenery. We're also animal lovers and thought it was great that the winery has a mascot, Ollie, who even has a wine named after him - we bought a bottle! We would definitely go back to this winery simply because the quality was excellent and it was a casual, friendly atmosphere. read more

Thought the place would be awesome. Nice touch with a savory/sweet with the 4 wines. $10 is a little on the high side for the quality. My wife and I tasted 4 of 10 wines and instantly bought 3 bottles. We noticed that we duplicated 2 wines in our seperate tastings and wanted to try 1 more sample each of wines we did not samle but thought look interesting. We planned on sharing each. After consultation with one of the owners, we were told we could each taste 1 more wine but for another $1. A dollar!?! I JUST DROPPED $45 ON THIER WINES AND WAS ABOUT TO PURCHASE EVEN MORE. Just the though of "squeezing" more money from a prospective long term client is not right. Its the principal. Penny wise and pound foolish. My husband and I stopped at Gravity and Domain Berrien wineries today. I've been to a few of the other wineries on the Lake Michigan Shore Wine Country map, including Contessa and Karma Vista, so I was curious to see how the flights paired with cheese and chocolate would go, since this is completely different than any other tasting around. We had high hopes, considering that $10 is a pretty steep price for a wine tasting - the highest we've paid so far, and sadly this was confirmed for us... The service was okay, nothing noteworthy, and the deck outside where we had our tasting was nice, but we didn't care for any of the wines we tried at Gravity. Sadly we didn't find one single wine we felt was worth buying. We tried 4 whites and 4 reds between the two of us, but they just didn't seem to compare to the other wines we've tried in the area. read more

I am not gonna lie, I absolutely LOVE this place but this year I am not a happy customer. We have come here since they opened with a larger group, but the new tent has us perplexed. Not only do you have to pre-pay (with an additional $50 fee), the tent does not have the pairings as they do inside. When we came, there was plenty of room inside yet we did not have the choice to change our reservation. We asked if we could change, but we're told we could not. So in the end we had to pay the tent fee, did not get the pairings, and we're still forced to go outside to the tent regardless of the availability in the patios and inside. Out in the tent, be prepared that there are NO PAIRINGS and the tastings are not filled to the first line as they used to do. Our tent bartender Tom was awesome, but again was not the experience we came here for. I understand this is new, but this really needs to be figured out Gravity!!! read more

I had the privilege of going on a tour of southwest michigan's wineries this past weekend. We visited 4 different wineries that afternoon and I have to say this was the worst of them all. It is obvious this is a new winery because the customer service is pathetic. I enjoy relaxable settings and staffs that are welcoming, not ignoring. To say the service was terrible would be a compliment. We contiplated walking out, but thought we would at least give the wine a try. NOT IMPRESSED!!!!!!! Boones Farm quality at best. My only advice is that if you do go, go first. That way your day will get 100% better by the time you reach the next winery. read more

They do a wine flight technique as opposed to a tasting, this was kind of nice because you had all your wine at once and could sit down. Great location and environment but when comparing to the wineries around it, it doesn't stand a chance. They charge $11 for 4 tastings and cheese pairings. Other wineries charge $8-10 and you get 5-6 tastings plus get to keep the glass. The wine was mediocre and the service was disorganized. Once you got to your spot, the associates were very kind and knowledgeable. We had Kevin and he was very attentive. Allison was also very outgoing and helpful. However, I would recommend visiting the other 6 wineries in the area before Gravity. read more

This place has good wine and a great outdoor area. I wanted to return there when I was visiting MI. My dad did not want to go because he wanted the red wine pairing with cheese instead of chocolate. He not only likes cheese better, but he is diabetic. I told him of course they would switch it for him it would be ridiculous not to. We went and I was shocked that they refused to give him cheese with his red wine tasting. I explained the situation and they stubbornly would not make the change. I have been wine tasting all over the world and I was shocked that they were so inflexible. There are plenty if great places in MI with beautiful settings and wine. I will not be back. read more
