I stopped by this place passing Through town and ran in real quick for a cup of coffee. I got a white chocolate mocha with whip. It seemed like i was waiting forever the place wasn't that packed there were several people behind the counter and only one person making the coffee. I watched my coffee being made and was not satisfied once the hot milk was poured in she then added 2 big spoons of foam which i didn't ask for then a small teaspoon of heavy whipping cream that i had paid extra for not even a Dollop but a teaspoon. Once i got my coffee it was luke warm :(. I also purchased a slice of banana bread which was perfect and a breakfast burrito that was given to me nice and hot with salsa on the side that was also good just wish they could of done a better job with the cup of coffee. read more

I hate how ppl give great reviews to a place just because it looks urban or its a hole-in-the-wall atmosphere. Or sometimes, because the reviews are so great, everyone just thinks the place is great, when it really isn't. Okay, maybe i am being too harsh. What's so impossible about making a CCC? Yes, they are truly delicious but definitely not worth the rolling of the eyes and the sigh with "ugh I just made a batch" or " ggrr why did you have to order that?" I'm not sure if it's in the training manual to be rude to customers but for years now I've only gone to this place when I have been with other people. Im tired of the Barista's constantly ignoring customers and making it obvious they are annoyed. The coffee is nice and strong and the service is awesome. The staff is very friendly and this gives the coffee shop a local, smaller town feel versus the anonymity of larger coffee chains. Lots of tables where you can get work done. The tables are often occupied, but this isn't for a lack of them, but rather the popularity of this coffee shop. Love it! read more

I always get the Chai when I hang out with friends here. I don't think Great Bear is the best place for reunions with friends, but they have decent Chai that is sometimes a hit or miss. Sometimes it's pretty spicy and foamy--aka just perfect--and sometimes it's just slightly spicy H20... Great Bear Coffee is a quaint spot tucked away on the main strip of Los Gatos my favorite little city in the San Jose Area. The boutique feel of the Great Bear is apparent right when you walk in as there is art hung on the walls that gives you the feeling that you may have entered into a completely new city and even perhaps forgotten that you walked in with the original intent of getting some coffee. So back to the main reason you go to Great Bear, the coffee is good as the Americano is brewed just right and the latte's aren't bad either. The Chocolate, coffee, and cream that everyone talks about here is an amazing drink. Not very coffee forward, but it is so delicious and not overly sweet. Blended drinks at other cafes just don't compare. Came here to work, they have a pretty good work environment with a fair amount of seating considering the size of the place. Nice local coffee shop that roasts their own coffee. Their soy latte is one of the best I've had (probably because it's a little sweet). They roast their own beans in the back, so the place always smells great! They have a pretty small but good selection of savory food items, including a couple vegetarian options. read more

Of the many places to get coffee in Los Gatos, this has always been my favorite. The drinks are good, they roast their own beans, and it has a good, wood tables and rotating art exhibits, coffee shop atmosphere. The bathroom is disgusting though. Avoid at all costs. read more

I appreciate the wide selection of teas they have here, but not the fact that most of them come in bags. I got the loose leaf white tea and it was tasty enough, your general Republic of Tea stuff. What gets me about this place is the bizarre bathroom situation. It's behind these swinging saloon doors and you have to wait behind them while you wait for the bathroom(the bathroom door is always closed) , which makes it rather hard to see if someone is in there. read more

After a lovely hike on the Los Gatos trail like, the dude suggested we go to this coffee spot in downtown LG. He kept ranting about getting the CCC, which is a milkshake type frappuccino drink . That drink is amazingly awesome and has this delicious chocolate flavor with fresh whipped cream on top. In addition to this sinfully good drink, we also couldn't resist getting some of their snacks as well. Their goodies range from sweet to savory and since we already had a drink that was sugar overload, we opted to get a turkey bagel dog. This place is amazing! I come here fairly regularly to hang out with people or just get work done. Their Iced Coffee is pretty much the most addicting drink on this planet. The Baristas know what they are talking about and told me why there Iced Coffee is so much more delicious (something about cold brewing).
