3 stars overall from me. You'll get your typical quality American Chinese food from this late night spot. Cheap and late hours are awfully convenient. Good choice for whenever you're feeling for something easy. The Orange Chicken is the way to go. The last time I dined here however wasn't quite as pleasant. I ordered over the phone and was taken care of quickly, cordially, and efficiently as always. When I got my food though, it was quite the opposite. I ordered the General Tso Chicken. I was met with a chicken substance that you can hardly call chicken (I'll refrain from details as to not gross anybody else). The sauce was the consistency of Silly Putty and seemed to resemble something cooked up in a chemistry lab. It was edible but I didn't feel too confident about it going down. This is more to serve as a warning: I do not recommend the General Tso Chicken, or at least not late at night. This one bad experience would not keep me from going back, but it does get me thinking. read more

Sometimes you need to order Chinese at odd hours, and this is the place to do it. The food is pretty good for the price, and while the delivery always takes the maximum to get to us, its worth it. The chicken and rice soup is my favorite. If they didn't have a delivery minimum I would order much more often just for that. Its so so good! The other things I've tried are good, but standard- which is all I can really ask for from a place like this. We got a delivery for the Mongolian beef and general tso. We opened up the containers and it smelled like farts. I thought I was the only one that thought that until my whole household confirmed. There were more onions than beef in the Mongolian beef and I really can't say that we got any beef....just fat swimming in brown gravy. The general tso breading is not breading....I have been to cheap crappier hole in the walls than this and had better general tso. I called to complain and the manager started yelling at me saying that I was wrong and that I should shut up. After I called back because the the person hung up on me, I asked him nicely to stop yelling at me. He refused to stop yelling and told me I dont know anything and that I should just order somewhere else. Apparently, I am not the only person that the manager has yelled at over the phone...just read the other reviews. I've only had their food via delivery... so I don't know what the place looks like... but it's good! This is your basic, heavily soy sauced Chinese food, but the portions are large and the price is right. It's not good for you but it's good to you. I like the lo mein. I have to say that I'm fairly impressed by this place. The quality of my food was quite good and the prices were reasonable. What's not to like? Specifically, the twice-cooked pork had a really nice flavor and a velvety sauce with a little bit of a bite. On the upside, there was a lot of pork in the dish. On the downside it was kind of fatty, which I don't care for very much. Still, there was enough lean meat in there that I didn't feel cheated, and the cabbage and green pepper were both cooked just to the point of being tender without losing their crispness. The wonton soup was odd. Not only were there three large wontons, but there were generous portions of noodles and cabbage in the broth. Not what I expected, but it was tasty nonetheless. Also worth a mention was their mango smoothie, a pleasantly sweet, fruity slushy sort of concoction. I ordered via GrubHub and they offer a free eggroll with a $X of food (I'm not being evasive, I just don't recall and am too lazy to go back and check. It's not a huge amount.) and the eggrolls are large and also quite tasty. Like most Chinese restaurants these days, they don't send hot mustard with their eggrolls, only sweet-sour. If you want the mustard, you need to ask, or do what The Housemate does and keep a tin of it in your cabinet. I'm definitely up for trying more items from this place. read more

And they use soft tender beef not tough steak like most Chinese places. Vast menu to choose from. I drive 12 miles grom my home each way to get my food from.there . I love this place. I always go for their lunch specials which are as someone else said, cheap cheap cheap. $4.50 for an enormous portion of fried rice, your choice of entree, and egg roll, AND a soda. As for the food itself, I think it's pretty top notch Americanized Chinese food. Everything is quite fresh and cooked just right. Their fresh fruit smoothies are fantastic as well. They really do have fresh fruit in them. Not only can I taste them, but the first time I ever ordered the mango smoothie, they had to run to the store to get me a mango so they could make it right! I don't get the tapioca in them because I find that they freeze too quickly, or perhaps they aren't made quite right, but I enjoy the smoothie just fine without the tapioca balls. The staff is great as well. The dining area is nothing to brag about. It's your typical bare bones hole-in-the-wall Asian restaurant atmosphere. Just enough room to fit maybe 15 people. I found Green Dragon through GrubHub. Looking for some quick Chinese but not immediately hungry, I picked Green Dragon since it's just a tad bit farther away than the usual suspects. The food arrived and the food portions were plentiful and held their integrity even after delivery. This quickfix Chinese food won't be leaving you any healthier, but it will feed you and give you your comfort foods from the Far East. I had some BBQ pork appetizer, some Mongolian Beef, and a bit of General Tso's Chicken. I kept most of it to eat later in the week and the food still hit the spot. This place is really close to my apartment and I really like this place. It's a go to when I don't want to cook or if I don't know what to eat. Everything we've ordered from this place has been pretty yummy. We've ordered the chicken with mushroom and onion, general tso's chicken, kung pao chicken, beef broccoli, egg drop soup, chicken rice soup and we love it all. The best part is they are open late and they deliver. The people are nice, the food is made to order so everything is super, piping hot when I take it out the door and it's so convenient! I am a pretty standard gal. By standard I mean I usually get the same things. General Tao Chicken or Beef and Broccoli. I love their versions of both, not to mention you get a LOT of food. The GTC is tender, flavorful and deelish! The eggrolls are tasty and the fried rice is typical. The B&B is loaded with tons of FRESH broccoli and the beef is also juicy, well-seasoned and good. I ordered from here spur of the moment. It was 1 am, I was too tired to cook, and they were the only place delivering in my area that wasn't a pizzeria (so says grubhub). Not only was my order on time, it was hot, the driver was polite, and the price was right! I ordered the dinner for two... It comes with crab Rangoon, egg rolls, wonton soup, sesame chicken, beef with mixed veggies, and special fried rice. The soup was good, the egg rolls have spicy mustard cooked in (which my bf loved), the Rangoon was fluffy and tasted amazing, the beef was a bit tasteless (yet still moist), the rice was good, but the best part was the chicken. It was fresh, moist, and it melted in your mouth (unlike most places where the sesame chicken tends to be crunchy and over cooked). NOT BAD FOR 1AM CHINESE DELIVERY! Having no menu, we just ordered typical Chinese food and hoped for the best, they had everything. I couldn't individualize the prices of each item but we got: Small Hot 'n Sour Soup "Uh... Orange chicken, but Spicy... with fried rice, and a pop." Order of Crab Rangoons Small Shrimp Egg Foo Young Total: $27.05 + Tip Was told delivery would be an hour; food arrived in 35 mins. +1 Great Dragon. The Hot 'n Sour soup was decent, they had mushrooms in them which was a pleasant surprise from the usual snotty soup with just some eggs and tofu in there. Had some of my buddy's (what I can only assume was) Spicy Chicken, and it was delish. Has sortouv a lemon-y undertone to it, not overly spicy, but had a small amount of kick. Crab Rangoons were the best I've had in awhile, if I had to choose just one reason to order from them again, it'd be for these guys. There were 6 to split between three of us, I ate 4 of 'em. Egg Foo Young was really just meh. Shrimp pieces were big and pretty good, gravy was kinda thin, everything else about the patties was very average. I had such high hopes for this place, being the closest Chinese food joint. The Szechuan Beef was tasteless and oily. The Orange Chicken was weirdly gooey, overly sweet and also oily. The Crab Rangoon has no crab or imitation crab in it, was bitter and strangely stuffed with onions. Even the eggrolls tasted pretty bad. The plus side was that it was cheap and gave huge portions. This is my go-to place for cheap, american-chinese takeout. It's the only restaurant thats been awesome enough to make it to my cell's contact list, so far. Great for that scratching that greasy Chinese good itch. Definitely a step above your normal corner takeout place. The orange chicken in particular is really, really good and you should order it. There seems to be some weird Chicago (or Wicker Park?) phenomenon where lo mein is made with tiny chow mein noodles, which for whatever weird personal taste related reason I hate, and Great Dragon has real, thick lo mein, so I'm a happy camper. We went through a lot of trial and error trying to find the perfect Chinese delivery near us and finally landed on Great Dragon. Sure, it's cheap chinese, but you know that going into the restaurant, so I assume you are ready for whatever they're about to throw your way. If this was solely based upon the Orange Chicken, I would give this restaurant 5 stars. Some of the best OC I've had anywhere, especially for the price. The General (Tso, Tao) chicken is okay, but unspectacular. Go elsewhere for that. I had the Hunan Chicken for lunch, and it was decent. It actually tasted better when I reheated the food and had it for dinner. The lunch special is ridiculously low priced - $5 for a huge portion of food. Awesome! There is always food left over for later consumption, which is a major plus for me. $8 for a large makes 2+ meals for me, and I eat quite a bit (hey, I'm a decent-sized healthy guy, lay off!) =P I do have a gripe, the onions in the crab rangoon is very noticeable and overpowers everything else. This is by far the worse Chinese restaurant I have been to. I ordered Mongolian chicken, crab rangoon, beef cantonese pan fried noodles, and a pineapple smoothie. The Mongolian chicken was sweet and had a weird after taste. The crab rangoon barely had any crab meat/ imitation crab meat. It was straight up cream cheese. The beef cantonese pan fried noodles was way too greasy. It looked like they poured a whole bottle of oil on it. When i picked the noodles up from the box, the oil was dripping... Lastly, the pineapple smoothie tasted like the juice of the pineapple from cans. I can tell they didn't use any pineapples but only used the juice to make the smoothie. It was so sweet that someone without diabetes may somehow get it in the next hour. I would give this place a 0 if I could. They clearly don't seem like they care about how their food taste. Can you say wow, I just moved to the area and I have been looking for good Chinese food, and I finally found it. The Beef with Garlic Source is so delicious I will definitely order that again. This is American-style Chinese carry-out. If that's what you're looking for, you should know this place does that really well. Service is fast and the place looks clean. We've ordered out from here four or five times and haven't run across an off dish. Some of them don't stand out (the egg rolls are just egg rolls), but none of them have been bad. The Sesame Chicken is remarkable, though, and could easily become one of those little addictions you don't want your friends to know about. (Yeah, it's probably too sweet. But if you like that sort of thing from time to time...) There are always coupons (half off second entree) on their website. That's nice. read more

I was hoping to fulfill my craving for indulgent, Americanized Chinese food- nothing inspired, nothing special. Great Dragon was a pleasant surprise! General Tso's Chicken was super good, and spicy. Sweet and Sour Pork was super fried and super syrupy- just what I was looking for. We've ordered from here quite a few times even though I prefer other Chinese restaurants in the area- they have frequently forgotten my order, I get there to pick up on time or a bit past the time slot they told me my food would be ready and I have to wait an additional 20+ minutes and they simply say "yes your order is ready-'coming " when they clearly just started when I walked in. The owner is a complete asshole and does not care about his customers!!!! I ordered from GrubHub as I have done many time before. I ordered almost $50 worth of food and definitely did not receive $50 worth of food!! I order from this place all the time because the food is decent for the area and I usually dont have a problem but the amount of food I get is beginning to become inconsistent. One time I ordered a SMALL order of Mongolian beef and received a decent size container of beef and a SMALL order of rice..... The next time I decided to order a LARGE order of Mongolian beef and I received the SAME SIZE/SAME AMOUNT OF BEEF as I did with the SMALL order but a LARGE container of rice (the whole large order was $3 more then the small) So I was pretty much just paying more to get more rice.... Today I order a LARGE order again but I order extra meat making the price close to $14 (which is way over priced for how much they give you).....when I got my order I got the SAME SIZE CONTAINER AS ALWAYS with only a couple more pieces of meat (It looked no different then if I were to order a small size).....heres the kicker....this time I ordered extra meat because they gave me a LARGE rice last time but this time I only got a SMALLLLLL order of rice with the supposive EXTRA MEAT!!! Long story short....I called to ask if I could get more rice...as a SMALL order of rice will not be enough for the size of meat I received (common sense stuff) My question was why when any other time I get a large order I get a LARGE rice with it but this time when I called I was told that to get a bigger order of rice I HAVE TO PAY MORE......ARE YOU KIDDING ME????!!! We ordered 4 entrées, fried rice and a soup. Everything came with the same dark bland sauce. The fried rice was really dark and tasteless and skimpy on the ingredients.
