Never, ever, make the mistake I did and order their garbage they sell as food. For starters, they can't even understand proper grammer let alone English. I had the most difficult timne ordering my food then forget trying to pay for it. I was willing to let it go hoping and praying that the food would redeem them, HOWEVER, I was sadly mistaken. Ordered takeout from this place twice. Both times, I ordered the exact same thing: Wakame soup and the Vegetable delight. The first time, the food was perfect. Ordered General Tso chicken. Looked nothing like what I expected. Oddly enough, reading the previous review, I'm wondering if they prepare all of their chicken the same. The wife and I were out running errands and trying desperately to avoid fast food for lunch so we swung into Great Wall Express. It was a pleasant atmosphere and we had very good service. While both of these are extremely important to me when choosing somewhere to eat it really is all about the food. The menu read like the cliché Chinese restaurant menu. Broccoli and beef, almond chicken, shrimp fried rice, etc... Not that these are bad dishes, but being the Asian food snob that I am, I am always looking for something more adventurous and, well, spicy. I had hot and sour soup to start. It was OK but lacked any real depth. I noticed it had no mushrooms in it. I assume that accounted for the lack of umami it was missing. We also ordered some shrimp toast and while it was tasty, it was obviously put into the oil cold because it was absolutely saturated in oil. Not a pleasant texture at all. My wife got the lemon chicken which was very crunchy but a bit over-done. The sause was a bit sweet and lacked any real zing. I got what I thought was the most adventurous thing on the menu. Thai beef curry. It was flat and had almost no heat. It wasn't baaaaad. It just wasn't that good. Overall the food was well cooked but it felt like they were afraid if spice. If you are looking for the basics you'll get good service and decent food. If you're looking for exciting, bold flavors you are going to need to look somewhere else. read more

Great Wall is by far the best Chinese takeout I've ever had. It's consist and the meat and vegetables are fresh. I highly recommend the entree with the black bean sauce, the vermicelli bowl and you must try their lo mien. I'm so happy there's a location close to us. read more

While the food was hot and fresh, it lacked spice and flavor. Most of my rice was mushy and half of my husband's was as well. Well l have ordered from these guys several times but this last time warranted a great review! About 8:15pm on a Friday was when l called to order delivery, l had minor surgery that morning and couldn't drive. So, Ardury suggested l order online to expedite my order! She also said if l had any trouble to call back and she would take care of me! I attempted to order online but the system wouldn't let me, so l called back. She not only took my order immediately but delivered it by 9:15pm, even after they closed! There seems to be a good crew working here, well managed and curious! In all honesty, the only thing I order here is the combination fried rice lunch special and a small wonton soup. I had dinner here when they initially opened and I vaguely remember not being impressed and our bill being high. We absolutely love this place! We live in Hutto and they deliver out here which is great because you can always use delivery options! You can also order online which is fabulous. I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy foods, but there spicy dishes are just perfect. The meat is always tender or crispy, depending on which dish you get. It's flavorful and delicious. We usually pay for the extra meat and each plate comes with your choice of rice and an egg roll, which is more of a spring roll. You can also substitute lo mein for an extra charge. (To the restaurant: med and soft tofu would be better) Mushrooms and green onions a nice touch when they do it. (To the restaurant: Be more consistent) Last time I was in the soup was so gelatinous it was like jellied fat floating in the soup. The soup obviously had been made ahead of time and not broken down properly to serve. The orange chicken was not good. I think they use frozen chicken tenders and cut them into chunks. The sauce was not orange. There was no orange rind and it didn't taste "orange" at all. It was weird. The lo mein was decent, but I think they use fettuccine noodles, and it was dripping in oil. I'm pretty sure the crab rangoons were baked because the bottoms were brown. Staff is nice. I ordered the Mongolian beef with fried rice. I don't think there was anything fried about the rice. It tasted like steamed rice with soy sauce dumped in. No onions, peas, etc... The usual components of good "fried rice." The Mongolian beef itself wasn't too bad.
