I've driven by here a few times and didn't come. It never looked clean. On a whim I ordered some pad Thai and peanut sauce from home one night... Would not recommend even in a pinch. Pros? Fast Large portion Cons? After a few bites I had to stop eating. BEWARE!!!! My company decided to throw me a surprise baby shower before my maternity leave starts. They know how much I love Thai food and decided to have Thai food catered to the event. We ordered from this restaurant through EZCater and the food arrived on time. Everything tasted good. Unfortunately, that quickly ended after I found what looked to be a large maggot or some type of grub cooked in with my Pad Thai.... At first we were skeptical because we weren't sure how it could have gotten there. These type of bugs don't just hang around restaurants like some of the more common cockroaches, flies, etc... Regardless, we were horrified. Especially me since I had already eaten two plates before seeing it on my third, PLUS I'm 36 weeks pregnant. Didn't order. Walked in and smelled strongly of rotting garbage inside. I Couldn't stay. Imagining the worst in the kitchen. Good luck diners - I simply wasn't going to roll the dice. I hope they can fix this issue. I visit many thai restaurants and have never smelled that smell before. read more

This is the third best spot for Thai food in Kent. The first best place is the Thai spot on 104th. The second is probably grandma Thai but they're a little shady with their portions so this spot hands a good portion with great taste. I would rate this place second but I literally saw the cook lady go into the restroom with her gloves and then came out of the restroom with the same gloves drying them on her pants. At least you know she washes her hands! Just wished she would have used new gloves! however, willing to overlook cause the food was so good! Edit- I ordered the Tom kha, BOMB! I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the head chef of Jai Thai - Fremont, Krittinee, left and opened this restaurant with a partner 6 months ago. It's nearby Showare, Kent Station, Justice Center just off Central Ave. Downtown Kent has a gem they're unaware of! The phad Thai noodle is traditionally made with tamarind a light brown color- if it's red, it's ketchup & sugar for American taste. They have beer & wine. Lots for vegetarians! read more

This makes me so sad to write but I feel I have to. My mom is Thai so I'm picky about my Thai food. I just stopped by for lunch today and was excited to see Tom Yum Noodle Soup with a choice of either rice or egg noodles as an option. I felt like egg and thought it would be great since every other restaurant only offers rice noodles and the egg noodles would be kind of like Mama which is a Thai ramen brand. Anyhow, arrived just before noon and was one of three tables. It took a while for the older lady to take the order but she apologized for the delay and I completely understand being busy when you're the only one working. Placed my order for the Tom Yum Noodles with egg noodles and chicken, 2 stars. Food came out fairly quickly. There was a hair stuck to the side of the bowl which I was willing to over look since it was the side. And this is where it goes downhill. The noodles were rice noodles. The broth was clear except some dried chili flakes on it and it had basil, none of that is normal for Tom Yum broth. The cook (who arrived right after I placed my order) who dropped off the food also dropped off a spice tray. As I was busy picking out all the basil leaves (just a couple mins) she came back and without saying anything took the spice tray and gave it to the table next me me. Considering I hadn't even tried it yet, I didn't yet get a chance to figure out which spice I would like to add. Honestly, the broth was bland and I found a couple pickled jalapenos which told me they used the pickled jalapeno juice to add some tang but, again, it was not Tom Yum broth. The broth was spicy but that was it. Also, the soup only had 5 baby bok choy leaves. They're apparently so cheap you don't even get a single full baby bok choy. The soup was so disappointing I ended up not finishing it, paid and left. They seem like nice people but for me it's not worth another shot if they are going to advertise Tom Yum Noodle soup and not serve the right broth. read more

Damn this corny named thai restaurant is TASTY! Came here hoping to catch their happy hour prices and ventured off to the more ghetto area of Kent, WA. When we arrived, we were greeted and served with haste. The inside of the restaurant seemed a little unclean, sticky tables and a few remnants of dead flies by the window sills. We ordered the thai iced tea, pad kee mao, and pad thai and everything we order was phenomenal. The sauces and the way the items were stir fried together were amazing flavor combinations, everything came out piping hot, and the chef who was clearly of thai descent came out a few times to interact with the tables. While eating in might not be the best option at this location, be sure to try some of their dishes because they know what they're whipping up! read more

Finding a good crispy chicken dish is hard because a lot of places that make it are really saucy and not crispy but greatest Thai actually makes it crispy . You know what I like? Truth in advertising. This really *IS* the greatest Thai restaurant. How about that? Once again (see my prior reviews on this), it has two menus. One for the Pad Thai crowd, and another one for everyone else who wants something authentically Thai that isn't fucking Pad Thai. Just stop it with the Pad Thai already. It's a family owned hole in the wall place with awesome food. Nice little hidden gem. As weird it sounds another reviewer is right, when the Asian restaurant is slightly dirty you know the food should be good & authentic. Most best Asian food are family own restaurants that seems a bit dirty. Trust me, they put more care and pride into the food than trying to make the sitting area sparkling clean. I'm upgrading this place. At the moment, this is one of the top three Thai restaurants in Kent. I think what I love most about this place is that everything is made to order and it is quick, simple, delicious. In fact, it's 11-minutes quick! Yes I timed it from walking in to the plate of fresh noodles being set in front of me. The chef here can make a mean Phad Sei Iew, and the girl (daughter?) that runs the dining room is attentive and professional. 5-stars is rare for me, but this place deserves it for a clean and consistent offering. The spices are good, as good as you would find in Asian home cooking. Above all, this place (feels like it) has humble beginnings... definitely give it a try if you're in Kent. 5-stars. read more

Every time I see a place with boat noodles, I will try it. Because I fell in love with boat noodles when I was in LA Thai town. I've had boat noodles at other thai fusion locations or I'll drive the distance for it. I found one in Edmond Wa thought it was oh so delicious I went almost every other weekend living up in bothell, but now I've moved to renton, its quite a drive. FINALLY I found a place that serves the best boat noodles in the pnw. I odered it as take out. Got home devoured it. Its Sooooo good didn't have to add anything. I will be coming back good more.
